For people who are going to make knife blades from power hacksaw blades. You need to get solid resharpenable high speed tool steel blades. DON'T USE THE BI-METAL BLADES! The bi-metal blades only have about 1/16" of tool steel right on the cutting teeth. The body of the blade is a Chromium Molybdenum steel like 4130 or 4140. Where as the solid HSS steel blades are usually made of M2. Power hacksaw blades made for non ferrous metals like bronze or aluminum are usually L6 or 8670. Power hacksaw blades are a nice option because you dont need to heat treat them. You do need to temper them. A tool store i shop at has HSS blades that are about 1.125" wide about 14" long and about 0.085 thick for about $6 each. I strip the paint and put them in a 425° oven for 2 hours then let them cool and repeat. I tested them at work once and they were hitting 57-58 Rockwell c. The steel is pretty thin, so grinding the bevels, i start with a 60 or 80 grit ceramic belt and i can grind bevels on a 4 inch blade in 5-6 minutes..
I am far from being any type of expert here. However, wasn't that supposed to be sharpened as a single bevel there? Or do they really have that small secondary bevel you put on it? Just curious is all....
@@tomhill4003 I don't know about the steel he used but I often do blades with old files and I guarantee you that I don't need to heat treat them again. They stay sharp for a long time.
In fact, this is not the case. As long as it is made of metal, it can present a mirror effect. It’s just that different materials require different grinding processes and materials.
Хорошая идея, сделать хороший нож из обломка полотна. Главное, чтобы полотно было цельнокатаным, а не с наваренными зубьями. Тогда нож будет на ,,ура".
"This short video records all the process of my knife making." really??? But I think you forgot the drilling process (your knife has 2 holes in the handle, right?!)

that knife will have problems with edge and tip curling and won't hold a decent cutting edge because you did NOT heat treat nor temper the blade. You just did stock removal. It might look pretty, but that's it. It won't make a good long term use for a cutting and marking tool. You need to learn about metallurgy, including proper heat treating and tempering methods. Nice try, but no sale from here. I've seen enough to know that I don't want any knife made by this man. I am a blacksmith, knife-maker and have a solid understanding of the knife making process. That includes a good solid basic understanding of metallurgy including, proper heat treating and tempering of edge tools. Not coming back.

其实那种打磨,叫做冷磨,就是手动磨,温度不会超过500度,,,钢材不会退火,所以就不需要热处理
