      @@CollagraphPrinting You could make a series , each christmas a different one. It shows a bit of your development, I think, since you are more into abstract work and i see that in this Robin, that is a bit more "stylized" is that the word (?)

    This is what I need to go with my dove! Struggled all afternoon to replicate a process I learned at art college. You are my saviour! Thanks, great explanation.

    Thanks for sharing. I love hearing your thought process. Glad to know that I am not the only one that has to keep checking chine collé pieces to make sure they are going the right way!

    ;loved watching the final part the red was laiod face down so I was confused how it came on the print?

      It had dried glue on the side that sticks to wetted paper. The water in the paper activated the dried glue as it is water soluble. If you look, I show you how to do it at the beginning of the video

    Lovely, you talk about soaking the paper, do you do this if you are printing straight on to the card?

    Hi ,love your channel. Do you have any suggestions for an alternative to shellac, I can’t find it where I live.

      Hello Michael, thank you 🙏 Yes you can use watered down wood glue, it will do the job just fine 👌

    Great stuff. Have you had any problems with printing the oil based etching inks on top of the acrylic painted Chine Colle? Did the ink dry normally?

    • @CollagraphPrinting
      @CollagraphPrinting  Год назад

      Thank you. It’s an interesting point. I think it should work. Painting oil on acrylic is fine so printmaking should be ok too

      @@CollagraphPrinting Thanks for the quick reply! I was thinking there might also be a difference in what intaglio ink is used. Specifically, the Akua inks might not be the best to use, since they need to be absorbed into the paper in order to dry. Will have to give it a go and see what happens.

    A question! Do you use your Collagraph plate with Chine Colle more than once, and if so, do you number them as in a series, or leave them unnumbered?

    • @CollagraphPrinting
      @CollagraphPrinting  Год назад +1

      Hi Diane! You could call them edition 1 etc. Personally I am not into editioning most of the time I end up with just one print. Sometimes I will make 2, max 3. I just can’t help and move on to the next project
