As with Thru (T.05), another unused track. I believe so anyway; I didn't mess around much with Time/Extra Trials or Link Match or anything.
Every bit as awesome as it is and starts off, it feels like one of those "interlude" tracks, i.e. a track preview before you mash the start button or something, but the tune quickly comes into its own and...oh my god, that release at 2:35.

Its 2023. I played this game in 1999. Can't believe its 24 years later. The soundtrack is still amazing.

Imo this is the greatest PS1 soundtrack. Maybe just one of the greatest soundtracks ever. Whenever someone asks about music on the PS1 I always point them to R4. It is timeless.
I bet in 10 years from now, we'll still say the same shit. R4's OST is the GOAT.

@@sshafooli same here. I even once wrote to Asuka through myspace and asked her for similar DnB music. But she didn't even understand why I would call this DnB in the first place back then. It is like a mixture of Smooth Jazz and Drumfunk.
Asuka Sakai also composed music for Katamari Damacy. Shes married to the creator of it. Timeless track.

These drums together with incredibly wavy and dreamy synths are an absolute work of art. The producer was probably floating in his studio while creating this.

This music is truly ahead of its time. This could come out today and still belong. This soundtrack has really inspired me as an electronic musician.
To be fair it was behind its time by nearly a decade lol, seeing as liquid DnB was a thing in the UK around 1990.

You can really feel the inspiration from Gill's - Nile theme. I cannot imagine the late 90s without DnB and their synths.

As dawn approaches, the mist of the morning can be seen, it was a cold day with some raindrops in the air. You woke up and stared at the quiet road from your window before you reached over to your car key.
You left your garage and head out onto the cold pavement of the asphalt. You heard your car engine tearing through the streets, traffic is still bare minimum which means you own the roads for that moment.
You reached for your music player and played this tune. This is the beauty of R4 soundtrack
Ah. This is it. Definitely my favorite track off the entire soundtrack. Such a solid game with amazing atmosphere.
