My favorite racing game of all time mainly due to its amazing soundtrack
@@FSVR54 To be fair, house and techno boom exploted around 1988 when british and german djs discovered Chicago House and Detroit Techno. But yes, 1990s were probably the golden era of electronic music.
Me and this song go *way* back. The first time I heard this masterpiece was when I downloaded a Stepmania pack that had this song back in 2012 on Christmas Eve. It wasn't until springtime in 2018 that I heard this song again on my way to Six Flags Great Escape, along with me listening to the direct audio for R4 in its entirety last year. Yeah, it's all because of this song that I took quite the liking to the Ridge Racer series. Thank you, Tetsukazu Nakanishi, for exposing me to Ridge Racer and its excellent soundtracks.
If I had to pick my favorite video game music album it would be Ridge Racer Type 4. The Nostalgia just hits so deep with me with every soundtrack in this album. ❤

you play this song at 3:00am while driving at high speeds in the highway, and you see the street lights flashing rapidly through your dash and empty seats, as you feel the cold winds impacting the windshield.

Hansen Sebastian I didn’t say Ridge Racer was the better over all series. Ridge Racer Type 4 was way ahead of its time. Gran Turismo May be the better company, but Ridge Racer Type 4 is just in another league by its self
Einhander49 That’s actually what I meant. I know Gran Turismo is the better series, but Ridge Racer Type 4 is just on another level and beyond. But the other Ridge Racer games have become boring and stale, and music wise a disaster. The music is what really made Ridge Racer Type 4. The relaxing, mellow sounds that a baby could fall asleep to.
I'm moving 1200km to a new home, it's a 14 hour drive. I wish I could find this album on CD or something, it'd be perfect for the highways sprawling through the mountains.
You can check out the other ridge racer titles. Like Silver Stream from Rage Racer You could also try Ace Combat 3 and 4, but they have Orchestral pieces as well. They also have the OG Spyro game ost, and FTL faster than light.
