Kind of a proof that she is indeed the strongest boss is that she fought radahn in his prime and got him to a stalemate, nuking Caelid with her Aeonia Blossom thingie. I think it's more along the lines of the fact that she wants to be undisturbed. Miquella was taken from the Haligtree ages ago by Mogh, while Malenia was fighting Rahdahn. She's blind and basically has no way of finding him again, or even knowing where he is. The only option that's really left is just waiting until Miquella comes back, or until she gets word of where he is. Maliena is just waiting for a day that never comes, and we are the ones who are disturbing her rest. Additionally, one thing to remember is that Miquella is defending her brother's right to be a god, and as a holder of a Great Rune, she's a prime target for anyone looking to reforge the Elden Ring. Malenia might not vie for the right to godhood, but anyone who goes out of the way to go to the Haligtree, and then struggle through to the very roots is someone who is likely outright searching to claim her shard. As long as she keeps the hope that her brother will return, she will aim to halt the coming of another age, meaning that anyone who decides to come after her is an enemy, a rival for her brother who she must prevent from achieving their goal. When compared to attacking the other Shardbearers, going after Malenia is gray at best, more leaning towards dark. She's completely passive, the entire Haligtree was meant to be a haven for everyone that the Erdtree rejected. Godrick, Rykard, and Mogh are trying to instill their own age, Radahn kind of needs someone to but him down, Morgott is maintaining the current age, and Rennala is more or less minding her own business. Aside from Rennala, all the other bosses that could be considered part of the critical path are very much part of the active conflict over the Elden Ring in some way, shape or form. On the other hand, Malenia has hidden herself *way* outside the bounds of what most would consider the critical path. She doesn't want to take part in it because she believes her brother is the one who should take the throne. But when we, as the player come down, having gone through all the loopholes to find the Haligtree and enter it's depths, what else should she believe other than that we are here to take her shard of the Elden Ring? idk if that made any sense, but that's my take on the matter.

@@MileyCyrusSwollenGums It seems to be a fairly widespread consensus that Malenia has lost her sight to the scarlet rot. While it isn't directly stated in item descriptions or any lore tidbits, there is a good bit of evidence to suggest this much. One set of evidence that I think is notably, but also quite subtle, is the arena and Malenia's weapon. While it might not be entirely noticeable in the fight, the cutscene clearly brings attention to the splashes you make as you approach her, and the crunching of the leaves and flowers as you step through them. These serve as Malenia's alarm bells of sorts, and let her pinpoint her enemies within the arena by the sound of them moving. This works in conjunction with the Hand of Malenia. It's a ridiculously long sword, even by the standards of Empyreans. Even if it was scaling a standard sword up to Malenia's size, the only thing that would even come close is the Nagakiba, the katana that is literally noted in-text to be reminiscent of a spear with how long and sturdy it is. But with the idea of Malenia's blindness, the length makes more sense. While stripped of sight, she can still pinpoint targets by the sounds they make, their scent, and whatever other sensory boons her great rune may bestow. Depending on how sneaky the target may be, distance or exact location may be difficult to determine, making landing hits tough. But the Hand of Malenia basically serves as an extension of her arm, allowing her to make up for the slight fallacies of accuracy by extending her reach far beyond the norm, and swing with wide, sweeping blows in order to strike the widest area possible. It's like a really violent white cane/sight cane. The final piece of evidence that I draw from is from the Blue Dancer Charm and Prosthesis-Wearer's Heirloom, which draws a connection between Malenia, and the blind swordsman who initially sealed away the god of rot. It refers to the swordsman as Malenia's mentor, and who else would a blind swordsman teach other than a blind swordswoman? It would seem fitting for that, and I'm not the only one to come to such a conclusion.
The intro dialogue implies that we might fight Malenia in a dream world in the dlc. That is assuming the dlc revolves around Miquella and his dream world. Since the game is guilty of reusing bosses, it's a possibility.

It would seem fitting for that, and I'm not the only one to come to such a conclusion.
I killed her in my 8th rey wasnt so hard. The Stone in my shoe was radagon and Elden beast uff , at least 50 deaths lol
The intro dialogue implies that we might fight Malenia in a dream world in the dlc. That is assuming the dlc revolves around Miquella and his dream world. Since the game is guilty of reusing bosses, it's a possibility.
I mean, do you really expect a game this big to not reuse bosses? There's over 150 bosses, you can't obviously expect them all to be unique designs. Besides, main bosses are very different from each other
Spot on my friend good thinking
@@tsitpunkkeepo3901 bro this was 1 year agooo don't hold me to it 😭😭😭
Haha not maleniaaaa but....someone even worse
It's quite sad now that we have seen the dlc
3.32...those body proportions are very strange. theres an uncanny valley vibe to them, but at the same time they do look pleasing aesthetically. Can't put my finger on it.
Well she has a prosthetic arm and leg so that's probably why it looks uncanny.
It's crazy how the fight scenes actually transpired on this game I'm like damn what makes you think I came for a confrontation I could have just came just to have a picnic with you 🤨
Did miquella ever give af about her i wonder.
Obviously he did. She was the reason he abandoned the Golden Order to begin with since it couldn't cure her of her sickness. He even tried using a warding needle to stop her rot from spreading.
Can i use your video to make a edit for my page on TikTok? I'll mark you.

The kind of wife I need bro😎
What, 6’tallerthanyou and buff asf?
I've only finished the game once but even though i fought her I feel like I never won, my faith/strenght build dealt waaay too much poise damage for her, beating her in five try like this made me feel wrong and unworthy of this fight. Since then I, an humble tarnished, wander again in the lands in between wearing nothing more than her sword and armor, trying to redeem myself
Foul Tarnished! I also did the “Malenia build” for one of my playthroughs, complete with the Scarlet Aeonia spell. The Waterfowl Dance skill was too easily interrupted, I thought, but when it worked, it shredded everything. Mobs and bosses alike. Awesome stuff! 🖖😀
Which set you're wearing?
I thought I have all sets, but so far I couldn't find this one...
I was using the Banished Knight set, you need to drop each piece by killing banished knight enemies.
@@brunoborne90 thank you. I found out meanwhile, but I only have the unaltered parts and you're not able to alter them by yourself. I didn't know that they drop helmet and chest piece in both variations.
@@saschaloggen Have you tried seeing if Boc is able to alter the set for you at all? I feel like I recall him being able to alter things you personally cannot, but don't quote me on that.
@@morguenm there is no difference in Boc's alterations and the ones you can do at any site of grace.
But I just found out that the banished knights drop the helmets in both variants.
Farmed it already
Was she spelled by St Trina?
finally smashed her.... used mimic tear and 2 handed blasphemous blade and just spammed the special to keep my health up. used my mic to keep the attention on him while I spam.... second phase she did not do that crazy 38hit hit combo so I guess I got lucky but I did keep pressure on her..... I guess this fight made me a better player because it only took me 2 tries to beat elden beast using the same spam technique and dodging all the slow attacks. I can now return to playing Pokémon or Mario games 😭
I fought her for 8 hours, over and over until I could time a frost pot throw to knock her down before she could use the Waterfowl Dance. I could make it through her first form most times without getting hit, but her second form was killing me because her stupid butterflies and wings obscure her attack patterns. I got frustrated and summoned a mimic, thinking it would die before second form and I could cheese her first form with it and make my runs quicker for more practice. The fucking mimic pretty much soloed her and we killed her first try without ever healing. Just stunlocked for the win. I'd say the difference in skill between beating her on your own and beating her with a mimic is literal orders of magnitude. Sorry dude, but Mario needs to wait, you ain't done yet, and neither am I until she's killed properly.
@@MechAdv i feel you, i beat her some minutes ago and i feel bad that i killed her only thanks to the mimic tear, i was only able to go through first phase without mimic, in the second she always killed me... 🥲
@@fedeblunda859 I had the same experience, made through phase 1 at least 10 times solo but she always killed me in the second phase. Had to resort to using the mimic.

🔥 boss intro
Hello, I am making a video for a contest, and I wanted to know if I could use this video for part of my trailer. It would be greatly appreciated!
I'll never understand her little intro speech. Why is she sharing dreams with us out of nowhere?
"I am Malenia, Blade of Miquella. And I have never sniffed feet."
