Fantastic day at the Hot Rod Drags, Santa Pod 16th Sept 2023

I had a Fantastic day at the Hot Rod Drags, Santa Pod 16th Sept 2023.
This, along with the Dragstalgia event, is my favourite meeting at Santa Pod .
I just love the older stuff more than anything else, and if you’re like me, then you should go too.
Just in case you can’t , I made a video on the Saturday . The actual meeting starts on Friday through to Sunday evening and if you go for the weekend theres free camping and live music too.
Its events like this that make me want to sort out my 1963 Ford Falcon, which would be a perfect car to bring.
I got to see two fantastic 200 mph runs from Wayne Allman’s VW,
Which you can see in the video and which I used for the thumbnail .
There was a best of three match race between Keith Bartlett (Rosring Rat) and Andy Bond in his pretty version of the 1955 Chevy, for £500.
Spoiler…Andy won it.
Paul Dale was there with his fasted 105e anglia ( in the world) and he had a number of match races with a very similar anglia driven by Ron Bartlett.
Honestly , this was one of my best times at the pod in a long time.
Then at the end there was a truly awesome fireworks display!
WELL DONE SANTA POD!
Can’t wait for next year now 👍

You must have git tired of hearing this. I have got a new drive shaft from the states plus a new filler neck and cap, and some wiring. Just need to pull my finger out and get it sorted!
