What do you do for a living - I resell clothing - vintage and modern. Mostly finding clothes from the bins and thrift stores. Things that have been tossed aside and are about to be sent to the landfill.

I was a singer all my life so I got to wear whatever I wanted for years, after I retired from full time gigs, I got into a sort of workout wear rut. After seeing so many of your videos I decided to style up even if I’m going to the grocery or running errands. Instead of just a comfy pair of jeans to go out for casual dinner, I now pick a dress or a skirt or trouser pants and feel good. Even though I sold MANY of my clothes, I still have kept good quality pieces to wear and live. Life is too short to live in joggers…..
I traded a suede jacket on Posh for an upcycled Louis Vuitton Uniqlo type bag and I love it! I also have swapped belts forever and have a silly amount of belts from a vintage turquoise sterling concho belt to my high school tooled leather 70’s belt and all the crazed ones in between. Loved this video, very educational and fun

I need a more substantial shoe for my shape - dainty shoes look a bit lost on my pear-shaped frame. Platforms, DM boots, cowboy boots etc, are my preference, but I do like the look on others. My mother wore ballet flats all the time :)
I too love shoulder pads - even subtly built into trench coats, and oversized 80s blazers.

As for ballet flats, i like the idea but i have a seriously high arch and flat shoes with no arch support KILL me! A little envious of those who can wear them ...

I love your style. I struggle w trying to imagine how to make things work on my body. I’ve def got dysmorphia but have gained as I’ve gotten older. I tried to pick 3 words to describe what I want my style to be & I couldn’t come up w anything other than old money goth or art mafia goth but I also really love ethereal bohemian. I know how to describe my sense of style when decorating (I want my house to look like a gypsy caravan from the movies … mystical otherworldly well traveled colorful rich comfortable ~ well damn how do I translate that to my clothes!?!) I end up a lot opting for comfort or sometimes I really like an outfit but refuse to look in a mirror because I will focus on critiquing my body instead of admiring the ootd.
That style sounds amazing!!! Do you ever watch Rachel Maksy? Her home décor definitely reminds me of that vibe. I remember her years ago also doing a really good video on body positivity. She’s just one of those RUclipsrs that always hits the mark with her words. For years I’ve struggled with dermatilomania and will pick my skin into oblivion if I look in the mirror at my acne (I’ve come a long way with it but still every blue moon I’ll have a moment) Its one of those one day at a time sorta things and knowing and learning triggers. Let comfort be what you lean on when days are harder or dressing up just doesn’t feel right. I dress up maybe once or twice a week and the rest are my comfy days 😂 hopefully someday I’ll reach 7 days a week but for now I’m happy with the one or two days.❤️❤️ 🤗

omg i want that uniqlo bag now! i live under a rock bc i didnt know about it until now lol. i cant function without a cross body bag. i tried to go back to shoulder bags but they drive me nuts now. i love that it's machine washable and looks lightweght! also loooove those necklaces. did you thrift the silver heart one?

I’ve had a hard time embracing the ballet flats. Elder millennial here, and I wore them the first go around… and I can’t get past bunions and heel spurs that these shoes caused the first go around… my feet are forever throbbing.
Have they gotten more comfortable?
I’m also not a sneaker for all occasions kind of person. Though I have loved the sneaker trend. So I’m constantly looking for a less casual but comfortable options.
I totally understand that! My mom and grandmother both had bunion surgery and it’s no joke.
I only wear my ballet flats with socks and I think that helps a bit but not much as far as full day comfort.

Have you checked out First Baptist Church Thrift Store in Leesburg FL? I volunteer there. The store is huge and clean, prices are great, and employees and volunteers are very nice, friendly, and helpful (if I do say so myself). Store is open Monday thru Saturday, 9-4:30. Come see us. Hi Laura I found a adventure bound originals thinsulate brown suede bomber jacket at my goodwill for $ 20, is it a vintage piece? It says guaranteed quality by Wilson’s, did I do well or you think that I should have passed on it? So next time I don’t make the same mistake
Sounds vintage, but I tend to go with whether I like the piece, if it’s a good price, and of a decent quality. Being vintage is a bonus!
