This episode was mind opening and a really good motivation to reevaluate where I am in life. It's true that trauma during childhood leads to how we behave and perceive things as we grow up. For the longest time I was addicted to always putting people first before myself: people pleasing. Even when I was exhausting myself mentality and emotionally I would still keep putting myself last. I always had a problem of loving myself first, that I just started doing 110% efforts for people (both friends or strangers and everything in between) I'm glad I am now self aware of its effects, but it took a previous relationship to break me and put me in a state of major depression to make me realize. Right now, I'm still trying to figure out self care and focusing on myself, but I am glad I'm trying to change my way of doing things for the better :)
Just one step at a time, the more you do anything the easier it gets my dear, best of luck to ya! This Feb I'll be alcohol free for 3 yrs, best choice I ever made 👍🏽😉🌞
@@justjo510 Thank you, I really appreciate that :) and that's amazing! Congrats and keep moving forward like a champ! ^_^
JK is the worst habit I have.. and I ain't never givin' it up!

Same here!
They inspired me to form a group of down ass people who are strong and real af & give a bunch of fucks about eachother above other random fucks who are dumb and aren't legit. Except I don't wanna start a business with friends really, just prioritize eachother and getting better and strong af together
Mine too.
@@smolsnek3835 woo shesh brother, keep on keepin on
My dad didn’t smoke around us because he didn’t want us to 1. See the bad example he was (his words) and 2. Secondhand smoke. Long story short his bestfriend died from smocking at a young age. He was in his early 50’s. So 2 years after his death his sons did their yearly memorial of their dad. I looked at my dad and said to him dad please I’ve been praying for you to stop. He looked at me and he said, hijita (daughter) I’ve stoped cold turkey since my friend died. I was shocked and happy but also sad because it took his friend to die for him to really see the affects of smoking. I hope this story helps another person quit and go towards a healthier lifestyle. God bless you all. ♥️
Thank you Sis! 💜😌❤
@@-amosc.presley-7192 ♥️
It sucks that it took something like that for your dad to stop, but be grateful that he did. Hug him and tell him you love him every other day!❤
I really like this one. Everyone opening up and speaking about their personal situations. its refreshing on this channel
So, I'm currently down to my last, few sticks of cigarettes, and I've been going back and forth about quitting this past month. It's probably naive to say out loud, but I needed a sign. Any sign. Then this video showed up in my notifications. After hearing Joe and the rest of the gentlemen discussing their addictions and how they overcame them, and all the comments I've read so far have been eye-opening. I went three months without a cigarette last year. I'm hoping to go the rest of my life without one. Wish me luck. Also, I hope everyone in the comments section overcome their battles as well.
awesome discussion guys!! i was having a shitty ass morning dealing with a drug addict uncle feeling so low about myself dealing with my own ideations; this is the conversation i needed to hear today thank you all for speaking so openly about your own tribulations. I have hope that we all can overcome and be greater than we were yesterday good today but hopefully not better than we are tomorrow!
Very wholesome ! Love this kind of openness with dudes
Im in rehab due to addiction. Needed this❤️ Thanks guys, great vid
Thats the truest thing about cigarettes and alcohol ive ever heard. You have to push yourself to actually liking those things
I'm the midst of quitting smoking..
16 years. Gross!
I just went out and bought a weight set. Had to make some changes in my life.
Wish I listened to the people that were giving me good advice when I was younger.
It's not too late.. but I could've already been in a better place if I had just listened.
Good luck on your journey to better health and better habits.
I love what Bart shared about making small steps towards your goal. Really good advice!
So joe hid his cigarette addiction from us? He has never mentioned it before.
First time hearing it as well
He's talked about it before but never talked about when he quit
Nope he's talked about it before and even Bart mentioned it as well, I remember Bart saying Joe was out working them when training even though he smokes, this was around 4 years ago now
This episode is one of the ones I'm here for man. So wonderful to hear these men's stories. For them bieng vulnerable to admit and share.
i feel like Joe's cig addiction was a bit of a surprise to a lot of us... didn't know he only quit relatively recently (4 yrs ago)... thought it woulda been like 10+, but interesting nonetheless.
Not really he's mentioned it before a few times
I feel like Joe smokes weed
My worst addiction was sugar. I used to always have candy on hand because I'd get so antsy if I didn't get a sugar kick. In 2012 I went on an 8 month cold turkey no sugar kick. Only fruit. No sugars in food. After the 8 months if I had even a square of chocolate I felt sick. I don't like sweet things anymore. And alot less subcutaneous fat!
Oh wow Thats so interesting! I think a lot of us can relate to that addiction nowadays. What did you mostly eat when u quit?
I still have the very first cigarette I tried 😂 as a reminder never to try that shit again!
13:20 i’ve found binge purge disorders/eating patterns are super common in sports with weight categories
speaking from experience 😂
Gamers hahaha
eps been hitting different these days for me idk about yall
Wow i been watching you guys for years and this episode really just opened my eyes to an issue I didn’t realize i had. Thanks for always being real ones yall. 🙏🏻
These are all things I've read from books. Atomic habit talks about accomplishing small obtainable goals consistently. Power of habits talk about rewarding positive behaviors.
I needed this video
Definitely needed to hear this.
I love this episode. More fun life talks!!!!
“Some people they learn dance to get P, you learn dance to get away from P”
😂 very funny end , but a really great episode and topic!
These have been some really 🔥 episodes
I’m grateful I don’t have an addictive personality started drinking at like 14 (22 now) cuz I’m Dominican but I now i never really drink. Did coke twice, in college. didn’t really get much no desire to do it again. Shrooms twice and also Acid once, I am looking forward to the next time I do that but I’m not in a rush to trip. Had a total of like 2 cigarettes didn’t like it. A whole lot of hookah in college, it was cool but I have no desire to set that up but if I were at something chill and one was there I may be around it. I do smoke weed really often but it’s nothing detrimental to myself and my interactions with society at large.
Needed this! :)
i just wanna say I love u guys, n I cry when i watch the old vids.
We need an episode of Nick giving us a Nutrition 101! Would love this
This helped me out a lot thank you guys for everything
Def need a pt2 ✌🏽
That's awesome! Joe has the best stories no cap
The trauma point was really interesting. Also the fact that people get the fix and go back to it later. It really makes you think wow there's a reason and dong this isn't worth it.
Quit cold turkey Jan ‘20 and haven’t touched a cigarette since. Glad I don’t do it anymore
what a dope episode
I quiet smoking in 2017 and have the same feeling towards cigarettes as jo
I use to do a lot of psychedelics like acid and shrooms and it fucked me up this happened 2 years ago and it mentally and physically fucked me up and I still have side effects
I was gonna ask what side effects, but then I read your profile name.
@@LaddRusso91 that stuff just made it worse
Twitching of the face and limbs social anxiety
Mini seizures all the fun things
@@depressionandanxiety4839 those are not fun things mate
My worst habbit is that whenever steve greene is on the show, I automatically puke.
Honestly it isn't a bad habbit, it's like when you eat something rotten and you shit watery shit, it's a signal telling you stay away from certain food/human.
Cris did not just say he was addicted to getting women XD
Like not a sex addiction, just addicted to catching one night stands
Joe needs to go to that Costa Rican vegan Commune that was in Netflix's "Down to Earth". Joe could live like his ancestors and have a mud hut
We need an another episode for this topic as not everyone went!
Joe looking like kung lao from mortal kombat this episode haha
Im a huge kung lao fan and did not see it, noob
Thank you for this episode 🙏🏼
My dad just stopped one day, from smoking cigs ever since he came to Canada to live w us (my family). He been smoking since 15
Windmill Away!!!
i rly needed this video from u guys i've been dealing with a cocaine addiction for 20 years
May you get the help and healing you need and the strength and courage to overcome the addiction.
had a friend who was able to quit smoking when his baby was born bc he doesnt want to hold his baby while smelling like cigs
then theres my uncle who freaking blew smoke at us as kids 😅
22:26 I wish I had your problem been alone already it's gotten old quick
I too have done a fair share of drugs..... Cigarettes by far the most addictive back in mind for a while you always think about it, it's terrible.
But our body's do know how to process meat.
joe is 30 omg 😳
Cigarettes is a legal drug. Hard to quit
I gotta get away from my hen's tie addiction so I can get real 🐱 man... 😔
Joe should let others chime in on the conversation lol
Cold turkey works - I cold turkeyed crack and cigarettes. Cigs was harder.
Ain’t gonna lie?
But, all kinds of Beers isn’t nasty even though I doesn’t drank no more and I didn’t have to play Beer Pong to prove a point.
Honestly, said
Sosa needs to be a regular
way to go joe proud of u ✊🏾
i was thinking about this earlier this week, how do you know something is a bad habit that you can overcome vs this is just your personality and who you are? for example, being too talkative or maybe clingy. like some people just like being around people. theres a balance but are you fighting against nature or nurture ?
Gangsta
Damn such a cool episode
fantasizing over joe, but thats not a habbit i wanted to break lol
I felt bro on the women thing
Joe is the number one roll model to everyone in the world keep it up
LOL Not really I am the number one roll model because I don't do stupid things smh 🤦
Damn joes 38 young looking nikka
That black guy is so uncomfortable with himself look at that clown, his body language is weird and tense as he'll. I don't like him already.
JKN PODCAST. You gotta do it

Is that a Jojo reference!!??
...
joe smokes weed sometimes tho lol
Weed and bogies are two different things. Sure smoking/ taking in anything isn’t the best but bud by far is the better substance

@@jeremystevens6640 if you read it again, slowly, you can see when I said “sure smoking/taking in anything isn’t the best” I’m well aware of that dude. It’s weird how a statement could be 2 sentences and somehow folks still zip past half of it
