Great video mate. I have the 270 awning on my Jeep Wrangler and bought wall 1 but haven’t used it yet. But will next time I head bush. Yours looks like the Hilton Hotel set up
Hi Phil, Thanks for the very informative review. I have a small 6x4 camping trailer with a hydraulic lid and this is the only option that I have found which suits my needs because when the trailer is open, the lid sits at a 45 degree angle and the awning will be fixed off the back of that (minor amendments with the bracket/mounting will be needed to allow for the angle off the open trailer lid ). Leaving the trailer lid open allows me to utilise the whole trailer area as well. I have the short Drifta kitchen which will be used straight out of the trailer. I was a little concerned at the 1.4m depth of the Darche awning but I will get the wall kit as well and after watching your video in detail, I reckon it will be perfect. Thanks mate, decision's made.
Great part 2 mate. These walls seem like quite the effort. How is it for airflow inside with the walls up? A see through mesh type section of the wall would be great to help airflow I would think and also to let some light in? Great video again Phil! Really helped me decide on whether I want to go with this awning or not. 👍
@@PhilsCampingReviews like you Phil, I too prefer the cooler months for camping. The colours at sunrise and sunset are incredible in winter... and it's also not 40 degrees in the shade everyday! 😂
Hi Phil, Interested to know where you purchased the end walls for your Darche 180 awning. We have purchased the main wall "set" that come as one "piece" but have been unable to find the small end walls that you attached via the sailtrack - can you advise what these were called and/or where you found them ? thanks....
I got them including with the wall kit. They should have been included, if not, you best to contact your seller. I purchased mine from Snowys in Brisbane
This is the shorter 180 awning not the longer one. This one is more designed for rear mounting. But you can still use on the side. Just to make sure this is the one you purchased and not confused with the longer 180 awning that’s designed for the side, I don’t think that one has the end pieces in the wall kit. If it is the shorter 180 awning you purchased, than the wall kit includes the end pieces that slide in on the rails.
How is it holding up mate? Is it worth the extra coin for the sides? I've just ordered my awning today. Holding off for a couple weeks to get the side.
Why can nobody design the walls do that it folds to the inside on the floor. Look at the alu cab shadow design walls. That’s all it needed then I was interrested.

It's unreal as to how much room you end up with.
Looks really good.

Yes. It’s a huge area
Nice job again Phil
Lots of room for activities once you put the walls on 👌
The walls make a big difference
Nice one. Look forward to seeing it set up in camp. Enjoy 👍
Me to👍
The two side pieces, could you leave em attached when you fold the awning away? Will watch the rest in case you address that in the video.
I'm not sure. You should be able to, But I can not be certain

I not tested out camping thus far. I don’t see it being a problem. I mostly camp in cooler weather
