- Viper is a wooden roller coaster located at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, which opened in 1995. Viper is a clone of the Coney Island Cyclone and is the only roller coaster ever to be built directly by Six Flags. Viper is also the only wooden roller coaster that has ever carried this name (all the other Viper roller coasters, both operating and not, have been steel roller coasters). I rode it in kindergarten and now I’m traumatized from roller coasters and are just starting to ride them now
@@TheGreatCornholio. this was the first 'real' roller coaster i ridden on after being traumatized by The Joker
@@blainewilliams394 yay I’m not the only one who was traumatized by a roller coaster
@@TheGreatCornholio. honestly, I had fun on Viper and American Eagle. Came out having neck pain for a week. lol
I rode it today for the first time it’s so good 10/10
This is a perfect classic wooden coaster. Just needs a little love and refurbishment/love. It's built very well and is surprisingly smooth for a wooden ride. You get some real airtime on those bunny hops
Smooth??? Have you actually been on the Viper? I swear I need a back massage after going on it
@@alissathesinger it is smooth if u think if isnt please dont try american eagle it's a billion times more bumpy than this
I didn’t get much airtime after riding near the back
Omg it’s bumpy af
Came out in 1990 so yeah
I remember saying “IS IT OVER?? NO OH SHIT” *goes down*
That must of felt scary for you
This is one of those roller coasters when it doesn’t look that extreme until you actually ride it.
I went on this ride with my family and me and my cousin rode together. It was when it was backwards for the anniversary. I absolutely loved it
Lol it goes backwards every october
@@doritosauce6632 that's cool I didn't know it went backwards then too.
@@LexiPoreda it is a good ride i have a gut felling you had an ice cream at the park
I remember when the Viper first came out! I was 12 at the time, and it was as smooth as butter then. It's good to see it's still alive and well. Wooden coasters seem to have more longevity. The American Eagle came out 3 years before I was born, and it's still kicking!
1:27 "Um sir no swearing on my christian Viper train server!" XD
lmao
I was not expecting it to be so intense when I went
My FAVORITE of the entire park!
This ride made my soul feel like it was leaving me😂
Ong
When i first rode this ride with my relative he was trying to get me to love roller coasters I practically screamed for dear life when i rode this with him
Im still terrified of this ride and roller coasters in general but hopefully one day i can get over said fear
This was my first ever roller coaster. Love it!
This was my first rollercoaster ever, today!
Great video was looking to see what it looks like before I got on it looks fun!
Super underrated. Top 4 at great america easily
Idk about top 4, but it is very underrated, a lot of good air time
So far by the rides i went on
1. Batman
2. American Eagle
3. Viper
not top 4
LMFAO THE WOMAN AT 1:27 😭
I LOVE THIS RIDE
I was at great America in July 15th too
Nice video👌🏽
LOVE IT
Enjoyed your video!
GREAT VIPER ROLLER COASTER FRONT SEAT RIDE AT SIX FLAGS GREAT AMERICA !!!
SFGAm should definitely preserve this woodie. There used to be a similar version of this at SFOG called Georgia Cyclone before it received the RMC treatment in 2018 as Twisted Cyclone
My favorite ride
I’m wondering if I have to take my glasses off on these rides.. hmm lol
First time I rode Viper it was backwards for it's 25th (?) anniversary! Terrifying
Yo same my parents told me it was a launch coaster .
@@TecnicMako no it was built in 1995
@@tylerm5774 irrelevant, launch coasters became a thing decades before that
I've ridden Maxx Force before it's a fun ride you should ride
I’ve been on this it’s super fun
Cool
“all clear! 👍”
Can i use this POV for a video?
I rode this thing today and it was so rickety. Always a good time tho
The hot chick at the beginning tho😍
Idk why but the fact that he censored out the cursing was hilarious.
Woman at 1:26 was going off
Why tf did I ride this 6 or 7 years old. Had some guts. Don’t now sadly
I WENT ON THIS
i went on this today, my cousin pissed himself i died
You should ride Maxx Force
What is more scary maxx force or viper
@@odoggy4657 um I cant tell if your serious or not but if ur scared of heights vipers easier but it has way more airtime than max force
Almost 30 years and they haven’t changed that chain ?!
Also btw. Drop coasters you sit in the back seat.
This ride is very bumpy lol
This looks rough as hell, but the pacing is pretty impressive. Idk, I just don't trust Six Flags rides that are named Viper.
It's like Goliath, there 7 million of them. I may be mistaking, but I believe there has been a Viper at each Six Flags park in some form or another. Some most memorable include this, Viper at SFMM and Viper at SFOG (true classic)
this ride is ABUSIVE JAGGEDY ASL
Se parece a medusa de ciudad de México
You know how awesome an RMC version of this would be??
NO.
Not everything needs the RMC treatment.
More like a GCI refurbishment
This is the only ride that should not get an RMC treatment
NO!
Cyclone Replica
Should I ride this(I’m 13 and have never went on a roller coaster)
If not this one just ride on some coaster somewhere. You're missing out.
@@supertuber120 that was a month ago I couldn’t go on the viper but I went on the Batman whizzer and demon. I live roller coasters now there nerve racking but worth it
Love*
KevindaGirffe yes its good
@@Kevin-qm7ut Oh you went on The Whizzer? I don't live in Illinois anymore but I'll always have a soft spot for The Whizzer cause that's the first coaster I went on when I was little.
Viper is so much better than American eagle
Who tf was that😂😂
I don’t get it
