"Trouble?" guy is the perfect Legionary: can sleep anywhere, uses rocks for a blanket; when woken, immediately flips over and snaps to his feet (flinging a boulder out of the way in the process) and asks if there's trouble. Adaptable. Ready. Apparently superhuman. Wants to know if there's trouble.
One of the foundations of why Oblivion is so funny is the fact that the guards are these absurd superhuman golems who could complete the main quest of the game themselves with relative ease. Their strange demeanour, wax-like appearance and constant glitches make them as alien as the Golden Saints in the Shivering Isles.
It’s part of a side quest found in the mages guild in the first city south of the imperial city. He’s trapped in his dreamworld and has no memory of how he got there. You have to go in at the behest of his only friend and pass three trials for him so you can free him from it and wake him up. So that one is reasonable but the other’s are hilariously goofy x)
That poor trapped guy was tragically self aware. I felt so sorry for him. Like a monkey who doesn't understand a mirror struggling to get past his reflection.

The Jankiness of NPC’s in Oblivion is one of the many reasons why I treasure this game so much. I love Skyrim, but they took out that particular special level of joy with realism 😂

I lost it at "Indeed". It was so perfect. The half buried body, the goofy distorted face, the umatching grave low voice. Simply perfection
Half?
That's Nord for you.
What got me was how much the indeed NPC looks like Skyler white.
"I need to get in there!"
Yeah, I can tell.
And the next clip boils down to “I need to get out of here!”
He almost said it similar to that infamous "I GOTTA GET *_IN_* *THERE!!"* line from Yugioh
Honestly this level of jank is adorable

I usually got the customary "stop right there criminal scum!" greeting. But I stole a lot of stuff. Still do in elder scrolls online too. 😂

The "need more snow" guy is totally right.
I like how the second to last NPC briefly became sentient.
Armon: I'll pretend I'm a plank of wood. The watch will never find me.
The “trouble” one is when you’re sleeping on the job but then the boss enters and you’re pretending you’re awake
