This video helped me 100%. Tysmmmm 🤪 I need it for blurring faces, but everytime i did it (before this video) it was soo laggy or even crashing. Once more, thank you!!
Great video!! I did see something in another about under proxy to also select the proxy storage box. This is where you can name a chosen folder to see where the proxy conversion files are being kept. Otherwise they are hard to find on the Shotcut default storage folder. Thanks again.
That doesnt really help. My playback is actually pretty smooth already. my problem is that although I have a decent workstation level PC, the editor itself is super slow. like copy pasting stuff or even just scrolling and changing layouts. I checked my hardware usage and its super low too. Any Idea what I might be able to do?
You made a mistake at 2:45. When you hit "no" Shotcut did not make any proxies so your video playback did not improve. All proxies are external files that are generated. There is no proxy "inside of Shotcut". So at 2:45 all you did was tell Shotcut not to make any proxies for the files inside your project at the moment. The reason it says that "proxy is on" is to 1) switch to any proxy files that you already made that are inside your proxy folder 2) automatically make proxy files for any files that you add to your project Shotcut from that point on. Another thing is that preview scaling is only to help when lag happens after adding filters. That's when you'll see the improvement with preview scaling.
The shotcut app is showing "You are running low on available memory!" Notification repeatedly. But i have enough memory on my hard disk. If someone could help with this issue. Please help..
There is a setting somewhere when exporting a project called "use hardware encoder" which should help it render faster, not sure if it does this using the GPU tho
Slow down; this is not the way to narrate a video especially a tutorial; hire someone who knows how to talk in a clear precise manner; this is so unprofessional.
any advice for making exports Faster? Also Im struggling with not adding placebo quality to The exported video making it 10x bigger than the source. A 4gb source vid shouldn't be 36 gb on export with Lossless quality settings.
Thank you dude i was about to quit editing cause i couldn't stand the lag but yore video just came in the right time , Thank you so much.
Thank you for all the tutorials! I have made a few vids using shotcut and you have helped me a lot with all your tutorials!
Thank you! This one really came in handy, it improved my Preview Player smoothness by a lot!
Yes that fixed my problem! thank you so much!
seems like they made some updates but good info anyhow, thanks!

I just started last week making my own channel and this lag in Shotcut truly pissed me off🤣😭. Thank you for this tutorial ❤️❤️❤️

Good catch, good thing I showed how to make an external proxy file in the example!
Just for comparison, what are your specs?
I recommend the conversion option it works the best for me

but still I got a laggy video and sometimes a not responding software
What is your pc specs
Hard to understand editing out all the pauses
Question can shortcut export while a computer is off cuz I don’t wanna leave it on for like a whole 2 hours
Unfortunately it can't, you have to have it on.
If it’s laggy still turn of both of setting(progressive and real-time
Would have been nice to explain what the hell the other settings are instead of just telling us to try them out and see ourselves...
doesnt work i cant even click setting its that laggy but yesterday it was working just fine
Helpful for the video, but shortcut still consuming like 7gb of ram
I can't even open the project i spend 2 hours doing because shotcut uses 2gb of my memory and it just keeps giving the message and crash
Did you ever find a fix?
When exporting can you use GPU support for the render to take the load of the main cpu?
There is a setting somewhere when exporting a project called "use hardware encoder" which should help it render faster, not sure if it does this using the GPU tho
@@AceyDesu I found out Shotcut doesn't allow gpu support in its current version
@@zulfphotography It does and it did. You have to select the correct encoder for your graphics card.
@@yak28 Does shorcut support hardware decoder?
"THIS IS ROCKET LEAGUE!!"
I use proxy and when I save that image and put it into my video, the image quality is literally trash. how to fix it
please please please answer
I would turn off the proxy and export at normal render settings, before you export.
this vedio was him editing him editing himself editing a video
im quite scared to follow a video who is so lagged it looks like my pc is having a stroke
Does it affect the video when I export it?
Nope, it just makes the editing experience a little smoother
Welp i guess my hardware just sucks
5:08 "you can use the setting to IMPROVE YOUR LAG"
SeeC further cyclic church office during kick mucho office step logic do lights during Bridgewater consistorial
Shortcut using 100% cpu and 0% GPU why?
You have to select the correct encoder for your GPU in the advanced export settings.
laggy lag lag!
