Oven-baked Crispy Chicken Wings

  • Ingredients (2-3 people):
    • 12 chicken wings
    • 2 tablespoon of soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon of rice wine for cooking* (optional)
    • Red pepper flakes (hot or mild)
    • Sesame oil (or another vegetable oil) to glaze the wings
    • Sesame seeds to sprinkle
    • 1 fresh onion and some fresh coriander
    Make two or three cuts with a sharp knife on the chicken wings. Mix with soy sauce, rice wine and lots of red pepper flakes. Let marinate in the refrigerator at least for 4 hours (or overnight if you prefer).
    Heat the oven to 200°C, cover a tray with cooking paper and place the marinated wings skin side up on the tray. Cook for 15 minutes, take off the tray from the oven, don’t turn off the oven. Glaze the wings with sesame oil (or another vegetable oil) using a brush. Sprinkle sesame seeds. Put the tray back in the oven for another 5 minutes. Meanwhile chop the fresh onion and coriander, sprinkle on the chicken wings once they are cooked and serve. Enjoy!
    *You can find rice wine for cooking in asian foodstores, otherwise you can use white wine or another alcohol without a strong taste.
