I always loved how whenever True Ogre was present on a stage, the background was pitch black. It felt like whenever you played as him, every stage was your stage.

But a technical reason why the background gets dark when picking True Ogre is because he's the most 'detailed' character with so many polygons. Apparently the machine couldn't handle it, so the background would be removed to save space. Or something along those lines.
It is my understanding that they had to hide the stage backgrounds or the game would slow down massively. True Ogre's model is very big and that's why! That said, the darkness adds to the mood!

Tekken 3/Tag Tournament 1 True Ogre was the perfect blend of "fighting god" and "supernatural monster." He can send you flying with a Blazing Kick one moment, then just straight up set you ablaze the next.
True Ogre would actually massacre damn near every fighter on the roster save for a few of 'em (more likely Jin, Kazuya, Heihachi and probably even Eddy to name those few) in reality lol.

3:14 - 3:16 I know it's absurdly impractical, but that *two* hit, unblockable into unblockable, death combo is disgusting. I totally didn't remember that playing as True Ogre blacked out all the backgrounds.
Never seen the punch reversal actually performed, so that was a nice treat. I can't believe how much damage that FC f+2 was doing though, that was wild
That was one of True Ogre's best moved in 3/tag 1. It was unsafe on block but the damage that he could get if it landed as a CH was huge and it was also often used as a combo ender due to it hitting otg.
I mean, Paul did technically defeated Ogre in the first round at least, so that probably means he was weakened up by that point; giving Jin the opportunity to kill him
@@legendarystormmartialartsg3573 what? you mean the story of Tekken 3 was where Heihachi hosted a tournament where challengers would meet up in random places while he went on an investigation to search for and assassinate Ogre after finding out he had wreaked havoc as shown in the Tekken 3 intro, THEN had plans to assassinate Jin as he used him to partake in the tournament, and by the end it was Paul who fought Heihachi then Ancient Ogre, then eventually lost against True Ogre but then JIN steps in and beats True Ogre then gets betrayed by Heihachi then turns into Devil Jin and flies off into the moonlight leading up the events of Tekken 4?! huuuuuh?!
If True Ogre didn't have that crazy hurtbox glitch that allowed a number of players to juggle him infinitely then he would have literally been the best character in the game.
Poor little Xiaoyu. But nice. I still await 2p outfit Nina moments in both, Arcade and Tekken Force. Attractive lady breaking bones on people would definitely be interesting to see. And True Ogre is indeed a badass in this game.

Look at his moves, some of them are from characters not present in the game. I always thought as if he murdered those characters and adapted to their fighting style
It could just be that given what we know, Ogre was defeated by Paul Phoenix and then killed in his True Ogre form by Jin Kazama back in Tekken 3. As for Tekken 5's Devil Within mode, it's unknown if said mode is canon or not but it tends to be regarded by many fans as noncanon.
