Just advance to the part where she sacrifices herself, then inherit the flame, boom, no one gonna murder me, especially not a brat, then use the needle and go with Ranni's path, i like Ranni more anyways But i think this path requires NG Plus

I see people who want forgiveness dialogue but what if the simple act of even having the flame inside you is unforgivable for her? We still don't know much about Melina
Regardless of that, this also robs Melina of her autonomy and agency. She is leading you to the Erdtree knowing full well she has to sacrifice herself to be the catalyst for the flame. That is her purpose, and she makes the choice to do that. To take that away from her without involving her in the decision is wrong. It's not our place to decide her future for her.
Hoping the dlc covers more of this. Mel needs to chill. If she can survive the purge of the flame, she must also have it in her heart to forgive. Plus the player did present her the option, and despite her objections, they chose to do what is right according to their views.
That's a her problem for me, I'm taking the flame to remove the outer god, I'd like to have culled as much influence the outer gods as i can before beginning the age of stars.

i would like to point out that if the theory about Melina being the Gloam-eyed Queen is true than she has at least some connection to the god slaying black flame, although she is diminished by this point due to Maliketh taking at least a huge portion of her power from her in his battle with her and the flames being 'sealed' we could surmise the use of the giant's flame is her attempt to sort of jumpstart her powers and this in fact would not truly harm her at all even though the player is lead to believe shes sacrificed her life for our journey, if this is the case then post burning of the erdtree through her, she has gone off somewhere to recover and re-ignite her powers as an empyrean although we haven't been given the chance to discover this yet, this could be a future secret ending.
They should’ve incorporated some sort of 7th ending involving this. Say you inherit the frenzied flame but then you tame it and melina returns willing to be your ‘maiden’ once more with her still alive without burning herself away? But even then if you got the rune of death (Lore spoiler warning) She’d revert back to the gleam eyed queen from before maliketh took destined death from her as we see if we do the frenzied flame ending without Melina dying.
If you look at the 2 fingers (Order) they're the index and the ring finger. The 3 fingers (Chaos) are a thumb, middle, and pinky. It wouldn't be so far-fetched to say they had anticipated a "balance" ending combining Chaos and Order, but it was never implemented due to time. Or because Miyazaki doesn't really do happily ever after.

Her reaction is also justified because you rob her of her own autonomy and purpose. People who do this, do it to avoid her dying, but that isn't our choice to make. Melina's entire purpose is to lead us to the erdtree and burn it. She knows she will die to be the catalyst of that flame. By doing this work-around, she gets no choice in being "saved". We make a decision for her, which we don't have the right to do. If this was actually intended to be an ending, there would be a way of doing it without bugging the game. But I think the exact reason it's not intended to be an ending is what you said above. Even with Miquella's needle, the FF is still inside of you. Like the rot with Malenia, it is constantly trying to fight its way out. And eventually it might make its way out. And say, hypothetically, the game allowed you to get the needle and everything without bugging it and allowed you to offer a choice to Melina about using the FF and then the needle vs her sacrifice, she would almost certainly choose the latter. Bc she knows what the FF means and the danger it presents. I don't get why people get so torn up about "why isn't Melina more grateful". She's not, bc the FF in any way is not a good thing lol.

That's fine as long as I can cancel out Fenzied Flame that I did Millicent quest, I can get Miquella's needle and cancel out to get Ranni still, I like her more then Melina anyways.

What happens if you do the entire quest line after Melina leaves you in Lyndell and finish it before burning the Erdtree so she won't even know you did this quest?
I don't believe you can. You have to kill Margott to have the doors open to the Mountaintop of the Giants and you need to beat the Flame Giant to get to Azula proper. The Four Belfries entrance is a side area not connected to the rest of Azula.

in order to use the needle you need to go to farum azula, in order to go there, you need to either burn yourself or Melina, thus, you either used cheats or mods to get the dialogue and it means nothing as it goes as the story is supposed anyway
If you complete her quest line by taking her to the snowfield then it doesn’t matter if you get the frenzied flame also seems like you can get the frenzied flame and complete rannis quest line and fia’s and choose which ones to do I don’t know if it’s possible to choose between all 6 but those 3 you can choose which one at the end s/n typed a lot before realizing you have 4 options which the 4th is mending the Elden ring
I have a theory. Melina didn't actually sacrifice herself, because she is a ghost and sacrifice requires to be in physical form. Soul cannot be consumed through the sacrifice. Melina gained power of frenzied flames instead, but she didn't say it to us in order not to disappoint and trapped herself far away. Since she is no longer sane, she leaves us. However, she does not want us to inherit frenzied flames, because she thinks she can deal with it. Melina knows exactly what is behind that door and she has experience, so she might interract with three fingers before. Maybe in the next dlc, we are going to fight her as boss disregarding any of endings.
I mean it makes sense. Miquella's needle only SUBDUES the frenzied flame, it's still within you but under control. Meaning it COULD one day resurface. Then again, you still betray her regardless of what the needle does.
Y'all, the Frenzied Flame is STILL WITHIN YOU. Miquella's Needle simple makes it dormant, or stabilized, just like how the Unalloyed Golden Needle stabilized the Rot festering within Millicent and Malenia. You still have the Frenzied Flame within you, but it no longer controls you the way it would without the Needle.
I always thought it would be interesting if you know you took upon this task to help her live and you use the needle to destroy the frenzy inside you as in a way you did that all for her to live there should be something there for her to at least understand our reasoning

I think it would have been best if there was a cutscene of her after the ending where she’s traveling with Torrent or some such, just living her life. In this case, it feels like her whole story just abruptly ends with no real conclusion.

She is (likely not confirmed) revealed to be the gloom eyed queen in that ending and has to deliver destined death to you in an effort to restore the world to some degree. And regardless of your feelings about the ending (even if you lock away the frenzied flame and pick a different ending) why would she be happy? You made a decision for her. You took away autonomy from her. That isn't anyone's right but hers. If we wanted to save her, it should've been presented as a choice to her. So she could ultimately make the call. There's a reason this wasn't an option. It's because she would've refused and would've still sacrificed herself. Because even though Miquella's needle is keeping the flame at bay, it is still there, much like Malenia's rot. So you're a ticking time bomb and threat to the world. Presented with the choice of that, or her sacrificing herself, she would almost certainly choose the latter.
I really awaitef her at the end when i cleansed myself of the frenzied flame i didnt want her to die so i gave up my soul to the devil of the 3 fingers. But neither knew that the tarnishef was guided al allong from the erdtree.
@@bashirkhan4206 use the teleporter at the first of the four belfries which will take you to a part of crumbling azula that can’t reach the main part. then you tp to round table grace and close your game as soon as the loading bar hits 100%. if it works, you’ll be at the main crumbling azula
The perfect playthrough becomes more and more difficult. Not only do you need to inherit the frenzied flame and aquire the miquella's needle to subdue it later in Farum Azula, but you also need to do all that RL1, so that Melina technically didnt grant you the strength of runes and therefore has no urge to pursue you, even when there is nothing to pursue you for.
...I don't understand...to get to Farum Azula either the player or Melina has to burn...so...how did you get to Farum Azula before doing the Forge of the Giants thing?
So I’ve had a glitch for a minute where the Placidusax grace is active occasionally well before Farum Azula is unlocked. I was gonna use this as an experiment. Because I want to know if I get locked out of progressing the game if you do this. Because if Melina still leaves I’d assume the code wouldn’t give the “Talk to Melina” option at the forge grace, but with the frenzy subdued, how can you be the one to burn the tree? I think I’m about to hardlock a character, for science.

this is such wasted potential, i first got tricked by Shabiri to burn the Erdtree myself and save Melina from sacrifice, then i wanted to cure myself with the needle but as shown in the video, nothing changes, they could add another ending where you get cured from friendzied flame, and where Melina is still alive and by your side...
you cant get properly to azula without killing the giant, so if you have the frenzied flame thats you, if not, thats her. and you can revert afterwards what was done here: he beat the giant, got to azula, then met iwth the fingers, then immediately reversed but interacting with the 3 fingers will proc melinas farewell (to torrent) anyways. but obviously you can revert that and not get the ending where she hunts you down

How disappointing Fromsoftware didn't add an alternate route for doing this. *Burns self alive to save Melina and then slays a time bending dragon god to cure flame of frenzy* - Melina's reaction "**** you, apocalyptic flame worshiper".
You don't even have to kill the dragon. Just using the needle in its arena and teleport out works fine. It's about the location where the dragon is residing, not the dragon itself.
First, its not possible to use the needle before burn melina since you have to burn the erdtree to reach farum, and decond the dialogue is exactly the same when you get the 3 fingers blessing.
Assuming the needle cannot cure the scarlet rot nor kill the outer god of rot its reasonable to assume the only way the needle can help you is by not allowing the frenzied flame to take over your body making you just a ticking time bomb waiting to become the lord of frenzied flame.
That makes sense, like how Malenia uses it merely to stop the Scarlet Rot from spreading seems very viable. Which is why Melina's anger is understandable because while you are Elden Lord with the needle and frenzied flame inside you, at some point the needle may come off and the Frenzied Lord rules.
i think its more like the needle will only develop after a hundreds and thousands of years before, that's why using it in faram azula pretty much cleanses you of the frenzied flame is because its a realm outside of time meaning the needle is pretty much ageless causing it to skip its alloying process

If Miquella and Malenia had been able to reach Farum Azula, and Miquella had time to study the place and learn its nature, it is possible he could have created a needle that can cure even an Empyrean without having to destroy their body.

All I can say is I got all accomplishments you would have to run minimum of two runs and save the game right after the first defeat of the beast copy the file and run elden ring lord ending and age of stars then you have to run NG+ and do the flame of frenzy so you can get all 42 accomplishments which in itself is a feat

This is literally not possible. Melina HAS to burn herself for you to get to Farum Azula. If you serve as Kindling, she never speaks to you again. She has no more dialogue afterwards. So the fact that you have the dialogue means you cheated to get to Farum Azula early, then went back to Frenzied Flame dialogue.

Not that interesting. I've tried skipping Mountaintops and getting to Farum Azula via glitch. This is after I defeated Malenia and used Miquella's Needle at Placidusax’s arena. When I got to the mountaintops (the place where Melina burns), Melina would initiate the “I'm gonna leave you” dialogue. The game sees you as a “frenzied alliance” even if you use Miquella's Needle before Melina burns herself.

I see people who want forgiveness dialogue but what if the simple act of even having the flame inside you is unforgivable for her? We still don't know much about Melina
Regardless of that, this also robs Melina of her autonomy and agency. She is leading you to the Erdtree knowing full well she has to sacrifice herself to be the catalyst for the flame. That is her purpose, and she makes the choice to do that. To take that away from her without involving her in the decision is wrong. It's not our place to decide her future for her.
Hoping the dlc covers more of this. Mel needs to chill. If she can survive the purge of the flame, she must also have it in her heart to forgive. Plus the player did present her the option, and despite her objections, they chose to do what is right according to their views.
That's a her problem for me, I'm taking the flame to remove the outer god, I'd like to have culled as much influence the outer gods as i can before beginning the age of stars.

i would like to point out that if the theory about Melina being the Gloam-eyed Queen is true than she has at least some connection to the god slaying black flame, although she is diminished by this point due to Maliketh taking at least a huge portion of her power from her in his battle with her and the flames being 'sealed' we could surmise the use of the giant's flame is her attempt to sort of jumpstart her powers and this in fact would not truly harm her at all even though the player is lead to believe shes sacrificed her life for our journey, if this is the case then post burning of the erdtree through her, she has gone off somewhere to recover and re-ignite her powers as an empyrean although we haven't been given the chance to discover this yet, this could be a future secret ending.
I get the feeling she's an just an aspect of Marika.
When she performs the kindling ritual and we do the frenzied ending she doesn't appear at the end so I think she dies.

Say you inherit the frenzied flame but then you tame it and melina returns willing to be your ‘maiden’ once more with her still alive without burning herself away? But even then if you got the rune of death (Lore spoiler warning) She’d revert back to the gleam eyed queen from before maliketh took destined death from her as we see if we do the frenzied flame ending without Melina dying.
If you look at the 2 fingers (Order) they're the index and the ring finger. The 3 fingers (Chaos) are a thumb, middle, and pinky. It wouldn't be so far-fetched to say they had anticipated a "balance" ending combining Chaos and Order, but it was never implemented due to time. Or because Miyazaki doesn't really do happily ever after.

Her reaction is justified. (And I do agree with your reason) but I don't think that's the primary reason it's justified. Her reaction is also justified because you rob her of her own autonomy and purpose. People who do this, do it to avoid her dying, but that isn't our choice to make. Melina's entire purpose is to lead us to the erdtree and burn it. She knows she will die to be the catalyst of that flame. By doing this work-around, she gets no choice in being "saved". We make a decision for her, which we don't have the right to do.
If this was actually intended to be an ending, there would be a way of doing it without bugging the game. But I think the exact reason it's not intended to be an ending is what you said above. Even with Miquella's needle, the FF is still inside of you. Like the rot with Malenia, it is constantly trying to fight its way out. And eventually it might make its way out. And say, hypothetically, the game allowed you to get the needle and everything without bugging it and allowed you to offer a choice to Melina about using the FF and then the needle vs her sacrifice, she would almost certainly choose the latter. Bc she knows what the FF means and the danger it presents.

I don't believe you can. You have to kill Margott to have the doors open to the Mountaintop of the Giants and you need to beat the Flame Giant to get to Azula proper. The Four Belfries entrance is a side area not connected to the rest of Azula.

in order to use the needle you need to go to farum azula, in order to go there, you need to either burn yourself or Melina, thus, you either used cheats or mods to get the dialogue and it means nothing as it goes as the story is supposed anyway

I have a theory. Melina didn't actually sacrifice herself, because she is a ghost and sacrifice requires to be in physical form. Soul cannot be consumed through the sacrifice. Melina gained power of frenzied flames instead, but she didn't say it to us in order not to disappoint and trapped herself far away. Since she is no longer sane, she leaves us. However, she does not want us to inherit frenzied flames, because she thinks she can deal with it. Melina knows exactly what is behind that door and she has experience, so she might interract with three fingers before. Maybe in the next dlc, we are going to fight her as boss disregarding any of endings.

I mean it makes sense. Miquella's needle only SUBDUES the frenzied flame, it's still within you but under control. Meaning it COULD one day resurface. Then again, you still betray her regardless of what the needle does.
Y'all, the Frenzied Flame is STILL WITHIN YOU. Miquella's Needle simple makes it dormant, or stabilized, just like how the Unalloyed Golden Needle stabilized the Rot festering within Millicent and Malenia. You still have the Frenzied Flame within you, but it no longer controls you the way it would without the Needle.
So wait at this point. How would you burn the erdtree. Without the frenzied flame and melina how does it work?

I think it would have been best if there was a cutscene of her after the ending where she’s traveling with Torrent or some such, just living her life. In this case, it feels like her whole story just abruptly ends with no real conclusion.

She is (likely not confirmed) revealed to be the gloom eyed queen in that ending and has to deliver destined death to you in an effort to restore the world to some degree. And regardless of your feelings about the ending (even if you lock away the frenzied flame and pick a different ending) why would she be happy? You made a decision for her. You took away autonomy from her. That isn't anyone's right but hers.
If we wanted to save her, it should've been presented as a choice to her. So she could ultimately make the call. There's a reason this wasn't an option. It's because she would've refused and would've still sacrificed herself. Because even though Miquella's needle is keeping the flame at bay, it is still there, much like Malenia's rot. So you're a ticking time bomb and threat to the world. Presented with the choice of that, or her sacrificing herself, she would almost certainly choose the latter.

The perfect playthrough becomes more and more difficult. Not only do you need to inherit the frenzied flame and aquire the miquella's needle to subdue it later in Farum Azula, but you also need to do all that RL1, so that Melina technically didnt grant you the strength of runes and therefore has no urge to pursue you, even when there is nothing to pursue you for.

So I’ve had a glitch for a minute where the Placidusax grace is active occasionally well before Farum Azula is unlocked. I was gonna use this as an experiment. Because I want to know if I get locked out of progressing the game if you do this. Because if Melina still leaves I’d assume the code wouldn’t give the “Talk to Melina” option at the forge grace, but with the frenzy subdued, how can you be the one to burn the tree? I think I’m about to hardlock a character, for science.

what was done here: he beat the giant, got to azula, then met iwth the fingers, then immediately reversed but interacting with the 3 fingers will proc melinas farewell (to torrent) anyways.

How disappointing Fromsoftware didn't add an alternate route for doing this. *Burns self alive to save Melina and then slays a time bending dragon god to cure flame of frenzy* - Melina's reaction "**** you, apocalyptic flame worshiper".
You don't even have to kill the dragon. Just using the needle in its arena and teleport out works fine. It's about the location where the dragon is residing, not the dragon itself.

First, its not possible to use the needle before burn melina since you have to burn the erdtree to reach farum, and decond the dialogue is exactly the same when you get the 3 fingers blessing.

Assuming the needle cannot cure the scarlet rot nor kill the outer god of rot its reasonable to assume the only way the needle can help you is by not allowing the frenzied flame to take over your body making you just a ticking time bomb waiting to become the lord of frenzied flame.
That makes sense, like how Malenia uses it merely to stop the Scarlet Rot from spreading seems very viable. Which is why Melina's anger is understandable because while you are Elden Lord with the needle and frenzied flame inside you, at some point the needle may come off and the Frenzied Lord rules.
i think its more like the needle will only develop after a hundreds and thousands of years before, that's why using it in faram azula pretty much cleanses you of the frenzied flame is because its a realm outside of time meaning the needle is pretty much ageless causing it to skip its alloying process

@@RevolutionaryLoserIn fairness Miquella also did not (as far as we know) have access to a realm beyond time where the effects of his needle could have been turned into a full cure for "godhood" (I maintain the theory that being a god in Elden Ring is a horrible curse/disease).
If Miquella and Malenia had been able to reach Farum Azula, and Miquella had time to study the place and learn its nature, it is possible he could have created a needle that can cure even an Empyrean without having to destroy their body.

All I can say is I got all accomplishments you would have to run minimum of two runs and save the game right after the first defeat of the beast copy the file and run elden ring lord ending and age of stars then you have to run NG+ and do the flame of frenzy so you can get all 42 accomplishments which in itself is a feat

This is literally not possible. Melina HAS to burn herself for you to get to Farum Azula. If you serve as Kindling, she never speaks to you again. She has no more dialogue afterwards. So the fact that you have the dialogue means you cheated to get to Farum Azula early, then went back to Frenzied Flame dialogue.

@@phanlee4621 thats because like Shabriri took Bloody Finger Hunter Yura's body, Hyetta took Irina's. We can partially finish the questa to spare em, but sometimes its better to finish em even if it leads to demise. Elden Ring is meant to be tragic.
Not that interesting. I've tried skipping Mountaintops and getting to Farum Azula via glitch. This is after I defeated Malenia and used Miquella's Needle at Placidusax’s arena. When I got to the mountaintops (the place where Melina burns), Melina would initiate the “I'm gonna leave you” dialogue. The game sees you as a “frenzied alliance” even if you use Miquella's Needle before Melina burns herself.
