This was the very first Ar Tonelico hymn I came to hear. It bewitched me from my first listen. Now, seven to eight years later, finally, I have led the charge to Platina, and I have heard this in game. Nothing could have prepared me for this. To anyone who thinks this song is amazing when heard in isolation, I beg of you : play the game to experience it. I have _never_ borne witness to a more satisfying RPG fight.
I swear to god, this can't get more epic. I remember the first encounter with ELMA-DS, when Misha started to sing I was like "NO F*CKING WAY! O.o" Best boss theme ever.
@@alvarosolano3600 No, there's only one release for Ar Tonelico 1. It's on the PS2, and even though the English localization is not the best, it's still acceptable. Ar Tonelico 2 is the one where the localization got so awful it had to be redone from scratch.
I love ar tonelico, and this song just always gives me goosebump whenever it plays on my playlist while running or walking. Thank u for uploading with lyrics and translation.
WOW!. both Misha's and Aurica's versions are awesome. they both have a different feel and flavor but the goal is the same!! this one is more heart pumping! Aurica's is more waiting to exhale! Wonder what Shurelia's would have sounded like...?
Man, Misha and Aurica had always been on kind of equal ground to me, but when Misha began singing THIS, she surmounted Aurica by a leap and a bound. Oh, god.
This comment is kind of legendary to me, because I first read it before even knowing who Misha and Aurica were. Now, having completed Ar Tonelico 1, I can say that, even as someone who _does not_ at all like Misha, this song *obliterates* Aurica's version in every way possible.
@blara2401 not to pick an argument with a years old comment but i feel like thats REALLY Selling Aurica's extraction of EXEC_PURGER short. It's a much more emotional, heartfelt performance in comparison to Misha's Extracting, which while intense and Determined in feeling, feels quite a bit more impersonal too. I dunno, i love Akiko Shikata's work, but i think the choice here is a lot tighter, and if you had to tell me to choose one by music alone, id still select Aurica
Watching WatchMojo's countdown of boss battle music: #5 - Sephiroth's One-Winged Angel! Me - WHAT?! How in the hell is any other boss battle music better than One Winged Angel?! #4 - Exec_paja Misha's version. Me - ........... I stand corrected.
Sigh, how I would love to see an actual ceremonial shrine performance of this song. Fires blazing behind the musicians, fog enveloping the stage, and as a shadowy figure with red glowing eyes surrounded by smoke appears behind the dancers.
@mishaklein Oh, I forgot to answer the second question. The translations are all done by me. I always feel that I have a long way to master the languages and translation XD
@mishaklein Thanks so much for your encouraging comment :D To be exact, most of my translation of Hymmnos lines is, in fact, "Japanese-to-English" translation ;-) I usually translate the official "translation" of Hymmnos lyrics in the CD booklets instead of translating Hymmnos lines themselves. @AbstractGarden Oh, so you understand Japanese! That's great!!! Yep, I memorized them all~~ xD Believe me, in my phone, there's more than 30 Ar Tonelico songs and I listen to them everyday, especially EXEC_with.METHOD_METAFALICA/. My singable lyrics! I'll initiate the Rite (And I'll release the power) This song, PURGER (And initialize your life)... I'll play the godly song PURGER And end your connection to tower! (I'll halt all energy output to you) I'll play the godly song PURGER And completely drive you out! I'll dance (I'll dance) At the monsters' feast (wicked place) I'm a dancing Miko, pleasure for eyes (I'm an offering, a sacrifice to gods) Now I'll dance always and faithfully, reflecting the light, even at the world's end [If] Exhausted, darkness will swallow me and drag me deep inside, into where all those demons hide If not, I'll pray to gods to keep me breathing and alive And I'll offer up my purest song! Get lost in the sacred music, demons, And close your eyes now, unresting spirits Fall asleep now and go to place from you all came In the tomb where you belong, sleep eternally - I'll close you off The king of underworld shall judge those who dream! I'll dance at the monsters' feast (I'll sing at this tempting feast) I'm a dancing Miko, pleasure for eyes (I'll sing this melodies for you) Now- (I'll play the godly song PURGER And end your connection to tower!)
