- Finally the 3rd and last part of EXEC over METHOD SUBLIMATION
ATTENTION : Most of the translation lines in this video are based on the official Hymmnos-to-Japanese text in the CD booklet; in fact, mine is an odd mixture of the official translation and direct translation :-( The reason is that it was difficult and confusing for me to understand some of the lyrics(the official translation lines, to be exact).
By the way, I guess whoever has played AT2 would understand that the Hymmnos word 'infel' can be translated in more than one way in this song--there's also an public comment on this issue from Akiko Shikata in the Fan Book!-- Although I used only one of the meanings when applying direct translation in this video, I'm sure you would understand what I'm talking about.
EXEC over METHOD SUBLIMATION omness chs ciel sos infel
That feel when you are fighting high up in the sky with the most beautiful view of the planet and your opponents are just two people who never want to be separated from each other again ._.
... and want to separate everyone else because "they would be happier that way".
Oh, sure! You two psychos get to stay together while everyone is forced into a dream world of solitude! Screw them!
I just finished Ar Tonelico 2 on Sunday after playing it for almost 67 hours and this song was the perfect song for the final boss and every time I hear this it'll remind how much fun I had.
The end of the world's theme song is just a sweet balad about two lovers singing praises to one another
Oh how I love ar tonelico
the story behind this song is heartwrenching. Ar Tonelico has a lot of weird stuff that isn't everyone's taste, but the way it can hit sometimes is amazing.
I know, it made me feel like the bad guy. It was one of the best final boss fights I've seen, not because of it being over the top and explosive, but because of how peaceful it was.
Not to forget how distorted and scary the previous two songs sounded and just when you thought it was going to get worse now that they are going to make their final stand, they start singing about love ._.
One of the most beautiful final boss themes in gaming
I always come back and listen to this wonderful song. So amazing! Why cant this kind of music be more popular?
To someone who asked me about the hymmnos word and the translation:
"Famfa" means はばたく(to flutter one's wings to fly). It is "hymma" that refers to bird, and the hymmnos word for butterfly is "lyafre." I posted this message in this way because I found myself suddenly unable to leave a reply to your comment for some reason.
The Hymnos songs are something very special.
So true.
And when I thought Suara's _For Eternity_ is already that beautiful for a final battle song, I found this one.
When it comes to music, we are kinda blessed.
EXEC_over.METHOD_SUBLIMATION/. just keeps getting better with each part, I swear!
This is incredible, its been a long time since a song has brought tears to my eyes.
this was one of the most beautiful final boss songs I have ever heard
AT2 truly has 2 of the best love songs in EXA_PICO : this and The Heart Speaks.
This song is beautiful and so cold. I love songs like this
I have never played Ar tonelico game but I've listened all OST.It's not just amazing but holding my life.
Glad that you enjoy it :) Listening their songs alone were already good, they are beautiful, but knowing the story behind it will add more experiences. for example this song, it is beautiful yet it hurts at the same time everytime i listen to this.. :')
Amazing
Infel and Nenesha deserved to be happy together.
This is the only song I have ever cried to, and is the most beautiful song I have ever heard.
This song is a magic.
GamePlayShare Damn yeah!
Literarilly.
Beautiful, just it D': I love Akiko so much
oh. my heart is melting ;C
I was really frustrated that the Replica theme drown out this awsome song. When I used it during the first fight against that dragon thing, the boss theme was played usually. Thought, it would be the same at the last battle. D:
This actually is my favourite. Loving translations.
a perfect song in this trying times.
This... Was so beautiful!
i havent played this game in years, but i still LOVE sublimation part 3.
i love how the two melodies and lyrics overlap each other
Beautiful soundtrack
I literally crying while fighting final boss
the artwork didn't help
I ended up watching playthroughs of all three games (I don't own them), and I liked 1 the best. I thought 3, though its story and characters were quite memorable, went a bit overboard. I'd like to see a remake of 3 without some of the immaturity, as you call it. I'd love to see those characters in alternate costumes like in 1 and 2.
I always visits this video whenever I'm down
@AbstractGarden
Thanks for clearing it up, it was really helpful!
2:27-2:42, best part. (Imo)
Weave together the power gathered in INFEL PHIRA to transform the world, and begin anew. Only the song maidens may be transferred to this new world, everyone else is left behind. I love you, Infel, I'll spend this last moment of forever loving you as we give up ourselves for this world as the price we pay. It is done, we don't have to suffer any longer and those who harmed us will be as dust as we force the future we desire to be. We will not fail again.
@rawr1728 Even so, those who played AT3 will find such perception inconsistent with what they was told in the game: the Concensus of the Wills ("the fusion of the Wills" means the Concensus) was called Ciela. It was not the part (core, exactly) of the Concensus, or fusion, that was called Ciela.
I never used Replakia ever apart from when you have to when you first get it, I dunno why I even tried to do as low damage as I could on the final bosses to drag out their song, they eventually get their ex moves though.=[
I didn't wanna hurt Infel...T_T
Which is kinda funny because Cloiche directly invokes REPLEKIA during the cut scene for the previous segment of the boss fight.
I before just thinked that Ar Tonelico 2 was a game like the others...
But after this....I will have to replay that game sometime soon, is too profound to let it pass >_>
The choir reminds me of ghost in the shell and Zelda.
@rawr1728 It's highly likely that those who read this --even some Japanese-- will think that シエラと呼ばれていた存在(the one called Ciela) is 惑星意志の集合体のコアにいたの(the one in the core of the fusion of the Wills of the Planet.) It's because the sentence can look in that way.
About the 2, strategical, indeed... Until you activated Replakia. XD
this song is fantastic

@suiryuukishi I agree fans can suggest their own analyses on facts related to the game and some of them can be highly accurate, but I'm also worried that many of them --however precise they may be-- could lead most of fans to misconceptions, especially when there're only a little relevant official information open, or accessible, to fans. In some ways, they could be as dangerous as saying "X___C_(in AT3) is one of an example of songs sung in Ar Ciela."
@Trazen4
I don't want to put spoilers here, but Ciela is not one of the wills but the 'consensus' of them that is formed by all the wills' agreements (a sort of major decision, perhaps.)
@rawr1728 In that sense, it's more reasonable to see that シエラと呼ばれていた存在(the one called Ciela) refers to 惑星意志の集合体(the fusion of the wills) and 惑星意志の集合体のコアにいたの(the one in the core of the fusion of the Wills of the Planet) is ホルス(Horus.) It might seem that doesn't make sense in terms of sentence structure (English one, in particular,) but it does make sense in terms of the background knowledge.
Please ask me if you have any further questions on this issue.
Well, it would be a big spoiler to explain it if you haven't played Ar tonelico 2 yet ;)
@suiryuukishi I'd read that before, too, but can it be said that Ciela and Horus is the same? What the booklet says is that Horus, who was in the core of Ciela, led all other millions of wills who agreed to eliminate the whole humanity (and, of course, joined Horus as parts of Ciela.)
@operationflux I agree with you. Although adding some humor to scenarios is not bad, I strongly doubt that the forced jokes are really necessary to these good stories, characters, etc.
I was told this information on the Reyvateil's Melody Forum, so I have no clue about the book being mistranslated, let alone being able to tell if it is or not.
It's weird that I listen to so much Ar Tonelico music without ever having played any of the games…
The games aren't for everyone, being entrenched in a lot of anime/JRPG cliche. The first one is meh-to-good but with pretty boring combat, the second one has a great story and much better gameplay, and the third one has okay combat questionable mechanics and a story I haven't actually played through, either. All of them have great music, though.
@@KingKamor2 do I have to play the games in order
@@garbagecat944 not really, though the first game hasn't aged very well.
Neither have I and I have no idea what is going on. Why would this be a final boss song?
@@andresmarrero8666 It's the final part of a 3-part series that is sung during the 3 final boss fight phases, sung by the villains themselves. The first 2 parts sound frustrated, angry, and violent, but this one is the point where the main characters have cut away the disgusting monster the villains have summoned and found the villains themselves. The two villains so thoroughly believe in what they are doing with this magic song (for each other and for the world, from their points of view) that it comes off almost as a love song.
Finally, a fan with some sense.
That's okay because I don't think I'll be getting the game in the near future ; ___ ;
Wow!
@rawr1728 If, by any chance, you got the information on Horus from the translation of Ar=Ciel Ar=Dor booklet in A Reyvateil's Wiki, it's no wonder that you believe "Horus is Ciela"; the sentence about the relationship between Ciela and Horus is clearly mistranslated.
continued from last post....
Anyway, you can't put in serious subjects like "a half death planet", "ancient technology", and "countless unlearned mistakes of humanity" with sexual jokes (constatly) and expect people to pay attention to the latter. All that and the fact that AT 3's "purging" made my friend think it's just one "pervy game". and she plays JRPGs. If we just cut out the innuendos and left the other funny parts in, it would be perfect.
Really pretty! I was wondering, how can the word 'infel' have different meanings in the song?
Either its meaning, or referring to someone.
@operationflux You mean a story with no emotion at all, with just the events playing out before you? The story is actually pretty solid by itself(at least in my opinion), but any story has a much less profound effect if you effectively take away the characters/personalities and the interaction between them.
It's rather devastating, isn't it? :D
@rawr1728 I'm so sorry, but I deleted your latest comment by mistake :(
I found just before why there is a difference in understanding the content. I don't know if you can understand Japanese, but the original text is シエラと呼ばれていた存在一惑星意志の集合体のコアにいたのがホルスだったです。
@Ifrianpsu:
Well, since the song in the vid itself is technically a spoiler, might as well as spoil it some more :D
I always thought infel translated as "Love"
It does. There are at least 3 different words for love in hymmnos.
@@albertteller4196 I'm guessing they have a somewhat different meaning? Like a different kind of love?
This song reminds me of a certain girl I know...
in the beginning, you translate famfa as bird, isn't it supposed to be 'butterfly'?
@TheShadonyx
I'm glad. I think most of the fans of this series think this way too. I was seriously excited for AT 3 (and it is still my most favorite game of the entire series, and my video game collection) but when I saw the news for the purging, my heart dropped D: Sure, the risque cosmosphere scenes in 1 and 2 were fine, but really people, LAY OFF THE MOE. I personally think moe is ruining all the JRPGs now >.>" I can't look at a box w/o seeing a girl there just for fanservice.....
@tehloserisyou It's surprisingly obvious from most of the context.
4:39
I wish this was an actual translation of the hymmnos
It's based off the official JP translation given by the lyricists, so it's the closest to what they aimed to express through this song.
yes, i'm aware of this, i'd just like a translation of the hymmnos instead of the intentions, since its its own language
Why are we disturbing them?
@rawr1728 I''m sorry for deleting this comment by mistake. Even now, I'm not familiar enough to the comment functions of RUclips (in fact, I was trying to delete my reply to this comment) I hope this will not offend you... The whole replies to the deleted comment are below.
@amitabho123 i was just trying to sum it all up in 1 word but you're wrong when you say it's integration with earth. the function of the ong in detail is to "cover the entire planet in darkness and force the soul to seperate from the human body. the whole purpose of the song is to seperate everyone from the land because it is the source of their suffering. its essentially synonymous with killing since the souls dont actually "ascend" anywhere they just isolate themselves.
Where can I find a song similar to this one?
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but try a search for "Ar Tonelico music" or to only get the ones with vocals try "Ar Tonelico hymmnos".
cliftut The few ones I listened to where...well...not the same. I've been looking for something with this kind of atmosphere and vocalic arrangement, and the other songs in hymmnos weren't quite cutting it. But if I search on, maybe I'll find something. Thanks for the tip! :)
lesslighter Great! Thanks for the tip, you're awesome!
它是有語法的唷-_>-
The games got progressively more immature in execution, as I understand it. I have only played the first two myself, and my impression was that the first game had a superior plot and (mostly) superior characters, with a couple of exceptions (of course, Jacqli from 2 is the supreme winner), whereas the second game had the superior gameplay, especially in battles. The mixture of strategic song decisions with rhythm-game play was extremely innovative and fun.
@rawr1728 Qoga is a big innuendo and that got really old really fast i think by the time i got Tyria i was unfazed by it.
@operationflux
That is what really bothers me about the game. Sure, its cute to have funny things in the game to obviously lighten the mood of the story, but all the sexual innuendo (especially in AT 3) is really unneeded. Not only is it awkward for the audience (I'm going on a limb to say almost all of it is female) but it makes itself into a game that people really shouldn't take seriously or look into it more for the deep meaning it has in every concept of the game.
It's beautiful but the lyrics are so unnerving
That's one thing I don't like about 3, it took so long before they actually took it seriously, but even then it was majorly over the top at points. Richa, for example, and here relationship with Gojo. And Finnel, holy crap girl, calm down! We'll HELP you, no need to throw yourself off a cliff!
Three is by far my least favorite, the battle system is really boring too, there was actual strategy to 2, in 3 you just tap a button on the red beats until you build the song up.
that alphabet will be a bitch to write
Can someone tell me what is going on here?
If you know what this song is actaully supposed to do, those lyrics are just a little bit disturbing >.>
