Giving them more attention is the last thing you want to do for your own safety. Stalking is serious and often escalates, and the worst thing is that law enforcement rarely takes it seriously until someone gets gravely injured. If it's just a fake story, fine. But if she has a real stalker, she should not refer to her publicly like that, especially positively.
