My friends new ford shifted down to 1st gear at 120kph pieces of the motor everywhere and ford only paid for half of the engine price. My school teacher always circled my mistakes with the same oval shape as ford symbol 😅 People keep buying that junk/Henry's revenge
2014 F150, 5L, 6 speed auto, 189,000 KM, Ford Motor Co. of Canada Immediate Recal 24S37 - "Ford has authorized your dealer to update the PCM with software that will prevent an unintended downshift into first gear in the even of an intermnittent OSS failure and to check for the presence of certain diagnostice trouble codes (DTCs). This service will be performed free of charge (parts and albour)." I realize that there were changes to F150 in 2015, so this may not have an impact. Love your tube, Kenney!!
Yup. This vehicle is not part of the recall. I feel for the customer. We will get him sorted out though. Thanks for your comment and for watching the channel. Keep wrenching 🔧
I bought a 2013 f150 5.0 in January of this year with an open recall. Took it to a Ford dealership, and I believe they just reprogrammed something, and nothing was replaced.
I had a brand new 97 F350 that would do that. The desler never could figure it out back then. They even changed the E40D transmission out and ended up getting me another brand new truck.
Our new 2022 ford work truck. That we finally got after waiting for 2 years has the 10 speed. Annoying. Not set up for the weight we have on the back. Tow haul is a must. Stops it from skipping gears and falling on its face
I appreciate you explaining everything. I learn so much it is crazy. I just wish my Son would get involved. I’ve completely overhauled over 20 bikes and one Porsche. He is just not interested.
With that low of mileage it might still be under warranty, especially since its such a common known problem. Customer should check with the dealership.
Hey there Kenny love to watch your videos I don't have a comment I have a question how do I keep my headlight switch from getting so hot in a old 94 Dodge ram 1500 pickup truck how to really appreciate your help because I know you're the best thank you and God bless have a good day
Unfortunately, it's the nature of the beast on that particular vehicle. I wish I had a better answer for you. Your truck is a workhorse though. Keep up on the maintenance & you will have a happy truck just with a hot switch. Keep wrenching 🔧
Internal wiring harness from the case connector to the solenoids, speed sensors, and temp sensor molded into a piece of plastic so it can open up or short out internally. Ford extended the warranty on a bunch of them to 10 years 150K but somehow they skipped over this 2015 2.7. At least by Alldata's info but I usually run the VIN on the Ford OE site just to make sure. Kenny says no dice on warranty repair though and he knows his sheet.
It is basically a circuit board in the transmission that connects all the solenoids and sensors to the external wiring harness, some year models had the tcm incorporated in also. The speed sensor is molded into the frame, when the sensor or board drop out the tcm freaks out and drops down to 1st. This can happen at higher speeds hence the recall.
They can't. The government dictates what fuel economy numbers they need to meet; safety, too. In order to achieve all this, engines and transmissions have become more and more complex. Couple that with the safety expectations, and now your most basic transportation is FULL of systems that don't even have anything to do with the powertrain. So in the end, every car is full of tech even before you account for the complicated stuff under the hood and the purchase price reflects that. I'm not even sure a fuel-efficient car gets you much of a return by the time you pay for all the other stuff in it because it's no longer like buying a commuter car in the early '90s, when you could get a car without airbags and it JUST had an engine, transmission, climate controls, and a radio.
Recall going on for that by Ford
Just got my recall a couple of days ago at least of a 2014 with a 5.0.
Only updated the recall for the 2014 model year.
ford just recalled 550000 for a down shift problem
My friends new ford shifted down to 1st gear at 120kph pieces of the motor everywhere and ford only paid for half of the engine price.

It's the Lead Frame in the transmission need to be replaced... Just went through this.
can Dodge Ford or chevy ever just build a plain jane truck with a standard transmission ??????
And it's funny how Ford did not mention anything about the recall.

Ford has a recall for this.
Wow! Ford stuck it to them. Only covered those from 2011-2013. What ice holes.
Known issue. Covered under recall.
Hey thanks
2017 Lincoln lead frame failure at 70 Mph. Wonder it didn't blow the engine due to over revving.
Sounds like you’re on the right track

You said the truck only has 68K miles, the report stated 110K
Nowadays who says you won't get a new lead frame that wasn't built on a Monday or Friday. Crap out there these companies should be well ashamed of.
Lead frame common fault
Lead frame. I've done two

That other Ford was not reassembled correctly as I recall
Good afternoon Mr Kenny hope y'all had a great weekend.Tell Mrs Meg I said hello. Dang it's hot 🥵

Dealership replaces those for free
Fault in vehicle speed sensor causing this. Reflash of pcm is the dealer fix.
Dangerous issue!
Make clutch pedals great again
😂😂😂😂 thanks for making me laugh. Keep wrenching 🔧
Real people use three padals.
The recall that just came out is for 2014 only.
Must be, I'll take your hunch over many other's diagnosis.
Note to self
Saw ye morrow Dude.
$Money $hift!
At ford quality is job one.
Is job NONE😂!

That's a 6 speed auto
Fnnn 150
The automobile industry needs to go back to basics. But then, like anything else, it can go bad. Nothing, especially in an automobile, lasts forever.
They can't.
