I had a piggie who was a chirper. She would always chirp around 4/6 pm, at a time where she was active. I always wondered if she wanted interaction with me. She would stop everytime I would step in the room. At the end of her life, she was sick and I was feeding her, hoping she would heal. One day, she was on my legs, sounding asleep, peaceful, being pet and she started chirping. First time in 6 years she would chirp while I was there and not in another room. I think she was telling me good-bye because she died the next day. Good god, it's been years now and I still have tears in my eyes while typing that story. I miss my little Alaska, or as I would call her "my laska".
@@barmag8802 I understand that feeling! I miss every single one of my guinea pigs, who are "gone". 33 since 2014. It's always really bad when you give them medicine and syringe feed during their last months. There are currently 3 live ones living with me though.
You trying to sneak into the room to find the source of the chirp and shushing BB while he sits on your head really made me laugh. Bison has a lot to say and Mica has to listen ❤ lol
This is so cute. I had a Chirping Guinea Pig-2:00am, just chirping away. Never in the daylight, always in the middle of the night. I loved it and thought it was so sweet. It was Dash, my Teddy Guinea Pig💗🥰😇
Early this year, we got a pair of bonded crested female guinea pigs. We named them Nina and Gina. Nina was slightly larger and dominant, and Gina was more skittish. After a trip to the vet we heard chirping. Turns out that Gina was doing it and the stress from the vet visit and Nina's dominant behavior made her do that.
Guinea Pig Morse Code 😂. One of my piggies started rumbling when she heard Bison 😂. I have a chirper but I don't know which one because it stopped instantly when I walked in the room. I think it's surreal and amazing. Bison looked so serious when he was doing it 😂🐹.
My girl makes a real low chirp like sound when she wants my attention. She is in our living room so, she is around us almost all the time. Bison has her beat in sound volumes by at least 97 percent. BB sure taught Bison well.😂.
I've had chirpers in my herd for years, but have you noticed that only one will chirp at a time and every other piggy will sit there in stunned silence listening. Over the 50 years piggies have shared my life it seems to be when a new piggy joins the herd and if something in the household has changed. My herd are in the house with me and notice everything about us as much as we notice about them.
I had a beautiful girl named Naomi, many years ago, that would randomly chirp. Back there I had only been a pig dad about 2-3 years and I took her to the vet. The vet I had back then was awful compared to my vet today, but she told me that Naomi was chirping because she had heart problems. I'm still not sure I believe that, but 6 months later Naomi passed away from congestive heart failure. I'm going on 19 years as a piggy dad and Naomi was the only chirper Ive had.
One of my four piggies made that sound a few times in the years I've had her. She is my only petstore piggie. She has always been very cautious. When she hears the other piggies wheeking loudly for food, she'll make little wheeking attempts, but she's careful not to be too loud.
I have had guinea pigs off and on since I was a kid, and now, in my late 60’s, I have my first chirper! Albus is one of the 2 littermate brothers, who now live with me.
I was smart enough to have this muted when I started playing it, lol. With five of my own piggies and seven extra boarders here, not chancing it :) I’ve had three personal piggies that were chirpers and every single one, it was a fear/distress response. I am programmed to immediately run down to them and pick whomever it is up and love on them and offer a treat. Two especially would like zone out, I hate hearing it… with my own, anyway. I have a boarder here now that I’ve boarded for three+ years that only the last visit I heard her chirping. She and her sister both came to me with horrible UTIs that visit too that required urgent vet visits. She chirped again last night. I of course ran down and all 12 got treats as a result, lol. Years back I heard the most viable explanation for their chirping - they are summoning their mothership! Haha. So I’ve always operated under that assumption and tell them to call it off, you’re staying here with me for quite a while longer, friends!❤
You can tell I’ve put a lot of time/thought into the chirping. I miss my three chirpers so dang much. I’ve lost seven piggies this year. I got nearly all of my herd back in 2018/2019 when they were spry little piggies. I knew I’d likely lose them around the same time back then, but it’s obviously been really tough. Love and miss them all every single day.
@@ScottysAnimals lol, right! Always gives me a chuckle. A former rescue owner several years back said they’re summoning the Mothership years back when I inquired about the chirping and I’ve just gone with that ever since. 😂
My skinny girl also chirps, but not this much. She is extremely quiet. Usually just imitates squeaking, like her little squeaker was broken. Except when she blurts out some extremely loud squeaks and then goes back to silent mode again :D
Yep we have a chirper. She's the youngest piggy Daisy. Her nick name is pig a bit because she's so tiny she's a bit of a pig. She only does it if she's stressed so happy to say we've had no chirping for a while. 🥰
Omg!!!!!!😱 MY Izma MAKE the sound!!!!!she so cute, when she makings the sound all my babies stop moving. Now I know the name of the sound THANKS 🙏 ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I have one nervous boy that chirps every few months. I’ll get him out and sooth him with hugs and bribery. He always looks freaked out when it happens and his cagemate isn’t a big fan of it either.
This is very similar to the sounds ground squirrels make when I am out in the middle of nowhere doing landscape photography. The one chirping stays alert and above ground while the other squirrels hide under ground. One of my females did this a few months ago in the middle of the night, scared me to death. I thought she was in danger. I think she had a nightmare.
I had a piggy my baby girl was a chirper but she passed away a few years ago lord rest her tiny little soul I miss her so much R.I.P to my baby girl Tilly love you
BB be like "no big deal, i sing all the time " 😂. The call of the wild. Scotty, you looked like you had a bad case of dandruff with the shavings in your hair 😂.
Absent mindedly played this with my herd within earshot, made 2 of them growl constantly while another was frantically sniffing the air for the scent of a stranger 😂
Bison is one happy guinea pig . He likes to chirp my piggies Rosita and Fred mertz thinks he's sweet too. My piggies Lucy Ricardo and Ricky Ricardo crossed the 🌈 rainbow bridge this November . Cute video
I laughed when BB kept chirping. My Pippy chirped when I scared him. He saw my shadow and was trying to get into hidey. He went round and round until he found entrance. Then he started chirping. I picked him up and hugged him. I hope Toby is ok. He's one of my favorites but I love all your animals.❤🐹
Bison, what a surprise! You're making B.B. jealous 😉 I don't have any chirpers in my current herd, but I've had a few in the past. I've never had more than one in a herd, and it comes out of the blue. The first time I ever heard a chirp was in a female that had had a stillborn pup, and that's the only one that I can think of that was in distress; all the rest have come either in the middle of the night or during a really quiet period during the day.
BB thinks he should be the only chirper. Bison is so big now, I almost didn't recognize him. My first guinea did chirp- just two times, and the rest never did.
I know they can growl too. They love to chirp more. But growling like a dog. Its something u have to look up. Ive seem videos on it. Its funny but scary too.
Scotty if he do this in quiet times in your room, then Bison really searching the other Piggis or his family members....also piggis really chirping when he stay in a shock moment.......@@ScottysAnimals
its the mysterious ritual of these pokemon! joke aside i have withnessed chirping, everytime i introduced a youngling to adult females they started chirping, all 3! but usually is the new guinea who chirpis and the others look
Maybe Bison is imitating a bird. We had one very loud mouthed bird one summer in our backyard. Miria Maia Emilia aka Maia suddenly repeated it one night when she was mad at me. I was laughing so hard her intent was ruined.
Im unsure as prey animals they would have an instinct that if they sensed danger that they would start chirping. You would think making sounds while in a dangerous situation would be a really bad instinct to have if they sense a predator nearby. You think maybe its a mating call? Bison is getting a little older into his teenage years, maybe hes looking for a girlfriend? Mica seemed a little annoyed by it lol Be quiet kid!

I literally woke up this morning to someone chirping in my herd! I've got 7 girls so sadly I wasn't able to figure out which one it was.
I understood from Julia (Little Adventures) that chirping is a sound of distress. Is it?

Here in Germany it is assumed that chirping is a sign of stress or restlessness
