    thanks again for another amazing video! just one more question. i see you usually paint glaze over rather than dip. I too prefer painting glaze rather than dipping as sometimes my dipping is giving me inconsistency in glaze. can you recommend good brush so that the glazing is smooth without leaving brush marks. of course, i like having brush marks on some pieces, but some of them i would like to keep it smooth.

    Hi. Thank you for the great video. Do you go back and fill in the little hole that you made before you fire the pot? Thank you.

    • @caldervanandel
      @caldervanandel  2 года назад +3

      Thank you! I forgot to mention, but I don't. The hole closes on the outside when trimming the piece. And it was very small on the inside, so I just filled it with glaze. But if the hole you make is a bit too big and still visible, you can go over it with a wet sponge and smooth it out. And even put a little piece of clay into it, if necessary😊

  • @fatemeghasemi6644
    @fatemeghasemi6644 Год назад +1

    That was nice 👌🏻 but I have a question! What happened to that hole that you made to avoid of crack? What did you do?

    • @triciac1019
      @triciac1019 11 месяцев назад

      You can put a little clay in the hole inside and out. Often, when trimming, it closes up on its own.

    Hi Calder do you fire your lid on the pot? I worry about them sticking together. Thank you. 😊

    • @caldervanandel
      @caldervanandel  Год назад +1

      I fire the lid on the pot during the bisque fire, but I fire them separate from each other during the glaze fire :)

    Did you fill in the hole you made to let the air out for shrinkage with any slip and clay?

    • @caldervanandel
      @caldervanandel  Год назад +1

      The hole closed on the outside while trimming it, and the inside got filled with glaze. But if the hole is too big you could fill it with a little piece of clay and smooth it out with a sponge :)
