The chief problem with note choice in a modal tune is how to not get stuck on the inside notes and how to use the substitutions while still sounding musical.
Technically correct but it doesn't sound funky like the original which is synth bass. I feel it would need a slight rhythm adjustment to sound funky on the bass guitar.
