Not that it makes any difference, but that's just how it was/is.

@@The_Pony No, she (and Troy) were announced as members on 9th October 2013, although a hint had been dropped at M'era Luna, the last show of the tour, immediately before the final song - fittingly, "Last Ride Of The Day", when Marcos said "Well, you may carry on for a while".
Yes, an agreement had been reached (in the hotel bar after Sauna Open Air at Tampere on June 8th), but contractual requirements of some kind meant it could not be official until later. Floors 2nd (and, it transpired, final) album with her own band, ReVamp, was released between the end of the tour and the announcement, which may have been the obstruction, or maybe Anette's contract stipulated that she was lead vocalist until at least the end of the tour, and only a stand-in was permitted. We may never know.
Honestly, she's the best singer in the world.

I was on the side of the stage (left wing) for this performance on a little balcony, so I had a top-down view of the stage and the audience. This is by far one of the best performances I have witnessed in my life. Truly special and highly professional!

The big three songs are Ghost Love Score (Wacken), Poet and the Pendulum (Wembley) and The Greatest Show on Earth (Tampere), but you will enjoy them more if you do some other songs first and learn a bit of the bands history. My recommendation for next songs would be Storytime, Last Ride of the Day, Seven Days to the Wolves, Shuffer Before the Beautiful, Yours is an Empty Hope (Wembley version)...

@@JacobBurtonStudios I would first listen to a bunch of other songs before you get to the Poet and the Pendulum, because you need some background first. Also getting information about that song is quite important, and playing the version with lyrics displayed. But I´m jumping too far ahead now.
And if you want some more 'raw' Floor vocals, look at her previous bands ReVamp (e.g. Disdain) and AfterForver

I'm 67 years old now and since 30 december 2021, when I heard this masterpiece for the very first time, I know and feel what the word "Floorgasm" means.
How can vocal coaches not know about Floor? Always amazes me. This song only shows a little of her vocal abilities.
Because neither she nor Nightwish is promoted in the USA, which is truly sad. I didn't hear about Nightwish until '06, and I only learned about them then from a coworker.
It should be illegal that I never heard of them before RUclips!
@@RaymondBCrisp I get that. I accidently stumbled onto them on youtube three years ago and luckily by chance they were playing 2 hours from me so got to see them live. But you would think a vocal coach would search out different vocalists.
@@JacobBurtonStudios In my 18 months Nightwish journey with The Wonder Floor Jansen, I've seen at least 20 Vocal Coaches that didn't know about her but now they sure do ,...and were all totaly mesmerized by her insane vocal abilities and versatality, awesome stage presence and crowd control ! They agree that she's not only gifted by her superb physionomy of 6' 1" goddess (super lungs and breath, large mouth,..),.. but she is very "skilled" ! Meaning that it is obvious that she has been very hard working to get where she is now ! Many VC say that they will show Floor to their students ! Also good to know that she has been herself a vocal coach for 15 years and she said in interviews that been a total "vocal nerd" and only realy paying attention on the analysis & comments done by other vocal coaches on her performances on RUclips! So Jacob, she will probably see yours reactions if you continue your journey !
By the way, recently on her own YT channel, she has posted up to now 3 free vocal masterclasses and 5 new covers to check out! 👍

Floor is an amazing singer and she fits into Nightwish perfectly.
The music that Tuomas writes is just out of this world and Floor matches it with her vocals.
I am positive that my brothers and sisters in arms have already suplied you with all the songs you need to hear from Nightwish, but if you have the time i would recommend to look for Floor on 'Beste Zangers' it is a Dutch tv show where different singers sing covers from others on the couch, giving their own spin on it.
You can hear her sing pop, rock, metal, soft in Dutch, English, German and Spanish.
I would also recommend listening to Epica - Sancta Terra ft. Floor Jansen to hear her sing even more operatic together with Simone Simmons. Another Dutch singer who clearly drank from the waters of Valhalla which cascade onto our little country ;)

5:45 "This guy" is Emppu, the guitarist. He's also known as "the Hobbit" due to his lack of height (He's 5',3") and you can find him walking from here to there, and back again.
BTW Floor is an even 6' without heels.
Tarja came from a classical background but could sing rock. Floor came from a rock background and learned to sing classical. Floor studied 4 years at the Dutch rock academy, then another year or two at the conservatory studying classical singing and musical theater. All that while being the lead singer in the band After Forever.
This song wasn't on the set list for the tour originally, when Anette was stil the singer. When Floor took over after Anette she told Tuomas that she loved this song and asked him if they could use it on the tour. It was introduced Oct 10th, ten days after Floors first show with Nightwish.

What didn't she showd us here? Well actually 80% of her abilities. Like seriously. She did exactly as much as the song needed. No more, no less.
(This was originally Tarja's song, but Floor made it herself. The ending she just add to this song when she joined them, and now it feels so empty without. She just have feel to it.)
We were as surprised as you are when we heard this song with her for the first time, but now 7 years later - this one is actually one of the easiest songs of her repertoar. (well maybe not easiest, just not that extreme in any direction of any style you've just heard)
Deep harsh dark growls, high note clean opera, insanely long straight notes, long quick complicated sentences that are even hard to just say, jumping up and down at the scale, you name it.
And you look at her and she looks perfectly calm like this is easy, that she still have reserves and can push even far than all of this.
(btw in english, dutch, swedish, finnish, german, italiano and spanish)
She is definitely a versatile singer! I always love to see that!
Hopefully more reactions are coming. I'm interested in seeing what you have to say about the band and particularly Floor. When Dutch people talk about really good music, artists and singers coming from our little nation (and there are a LOT), Floor is almost never talked about and it's a shame.
I for one am really happy so many international people are discovering her, so please do go down that era of Nightwish more. I'd personally recommend Weak Fantasy (Wembley 2015), 7 Days to the Wolves (Wembley 2015), Dead Boys Poem (Buenos Aires 2018) and My Walden (Tampere). There's a lot to discover, many different vibes, so any other recommendations given, including easing into the discography by reacting to the Wacken concert more are valid, and please don't be overwhelmed, go at your own pace, bu it's worth discovering more.

loved the reaction! I know this is an uncommon one to react to as a second floor-song (usually it’s Romanticide, Storytime, ever dream, song of myself, the Islander, ghost river, yours is an empty hope, dead boys poem or something in that order) but, for AMAZING harmonies of Floor and Marko together, please listen to 7 days to the wolves! Also, as many will recommend, for a different side of marko with floor as background singer: while your lips are still red. (Don’t know if you have heard, but marko has taken a time out and has left the band, music industry and media in general, for an unkown amount of time. Let’s enjoy his performances on yt together en wish him all the best)

Floor is a vocal teacher herself. She's not actively teaching students though because she's a rock star or whatever but she's been putting out some master class videos on her RUclips channel. Enjoyed the reaction so looking forward to seeing more. There's a lot to dive into

She did teach but her first band get a lot of gigs so she stopped teaching because she didn't had time to do those two things together. .
This is one of the big three of Nightwish by Tuomas, keyboardist/songwriter. The other two being "The Poet and the Pendulum" Wembley Arena 2015,14 minutes and "The Greatest Show on Earth" Tampere 2015, 20 minutes. Hope you react to more Nightwish before reacting to those two masterpieces. You need to do some research on those songs before reacting to them, otherwise you're going to miss a lot.
I hope your next reaction is to a Nightwish song with Floor and Marko together on vocals. They complement each other amazingly.
"Ever Dream" Official Live Wacken 2013, beautiful and powerful.
"Ghost River" Marko representing bad, Floor good. "Song of Myself" again Floor and Marko. Romanticide, once again Floor and Marko. All in Wacken 2013, and all three representing the heavier stuff of Nightwish.
Wacken concert is epic, but Wembley Arena 2015, Tampere 2015 (outdoors stadium), and Buenos Aires 2018 concerts are great as well. Even though Floor was not 100% ok in BA she did well. For the most part you can not even realize she's not totally ok.

Well, make sure your passport is up-to-date. Because you won't see Nightwish in a stadium in America. There are only four US shows scheduled for their current (interrupted) tour, two on each coast, and the largest venue they're playing seats fewer than 6,000.
I saw them the last time they came around my area (five years ago), in a grubby little club on the outskirts of town. The venue has a maximum capacity of 1,000, and was NOT sold out. We got there just before the show started, and I stood fifteen feet from Marco. An unbelievable show, with almost no one there to see it. Nightwish loses money every time they tour the US, and can't grow their fan base beyond their few existing fans. I know I'm not alone among American Nightwish fans in feeling that they deserve stadium audiences, and that almost all of the artists actually selling out those stadiums instead do NOT.
Nightwish is the clearest demonstration of what is wrong with the American music industry. American audiences slather over the mediocre and barely adequate, and believe that what they're hearing is the best that music can be.. They have never even heard of one of the most talented bands in the world, let alone a singer as glorious as Floor. And they never will, because there's nothing in it for (insert the names of any thousand random music business slugs and hacks).
It annoys me no end when anyone in America says that "today's music sucks", because they only have other American music for comparison. America doesn't know because they don't want to know, and they don't want to know because they don't know. It just makes me want to shake a hundred million people by their lapels and scream "PAY ATTENTION" into their faces. Unfortunately, my arms aren't long enough to reach America's lapels, and after 9/11 I don't qualify for a passport. So, have fun, wish I was there. My heart is with you, even though my body is stuck in the birthplace of Garth Brooks.

I was so close to getting tickets for this show. I remember VIP passes were only $100/person for the whole weekend. The flight to Germany, on the other hand, would've run me about $2000, so I had to pass. I've regretted it ever since.
