The Righteous Brothers were a great duo of the 1960s. Bobby Hatfield sang high tenor, Bill Medley sang baritone-bass. They started with a different name, but after singing at a soul club that catered largely to black personnel from a nearby Marine base, and being told by the appreciative crowd, "That was righteous, brothers!", they knew they'd found their new name. Unchained Melody got its start as a pure instrumental, a tune written as the romantic theme for a dramatic movie simply called Unchained , about a man imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit, but who is sustained by his love for the woman loyally waiting for him on the outside. The tune got some airplay on the radio, lyrics were later written for it, and that's what brought it to the duo's attention. Because it was so obviously a one-singer song, they literally flipped a coin to determine who would sing it, and the right guy, Bobby Hatfield, won. Bill Medley would have looked silly just standing there doing nothing, so he always stepped off and surrendered the stage to his partner and friend for this song. You've Lost That Loving Feeling, Unchained Melody, and Soul & Inspiration are the perfect trifecta of Righteous Brothers songs. You've Lost That Loving Feeling, in particular, was the most frequently requested song on American radio of the entire twentieth century. You really ought to give it a listen.

Bobbie sang this one alone, and it was the best live performance ever made 🤗! Bobby Hatfield.. The best counter-tenor of all time. This song was in the top ten twice... In 1965 and again in 1980 in the movie "Ghost." Both sung by Bobby. There 😅is so much of them to discover_ as I'm sure by now commenters hahe told yo. You have a real treat in store. But this is "Bobby's Song." He was the greatest. But together, he and Bill were amazing!
Hundreds of singers have sung this song but none do it better than Bobby Hatfield. The studio version of this song was used in the film 'Ghost' but this live version is stupendous. No auto tune or gimmicks just pure talent. He had a cold, his mother was in the audience watching him sing for the first time and he suffered with stage fright. Watch when he hits the last high note his face does not contort like other singers he just smiles and bites his lip as if to say 'I nailed it'. Your reactions are really loud but the song was quite muted. They are not actual brothers and there are 2 of them. However, they sing a solo song on each of their albums.
you could tell he was nervous by the pre-performance banter with Andy Williams and the other 'brother' Bill Medley before Bobby started to sing. And I love the slight smile he gets almost to the end, like he was thinking "I GOT this now"
A lesser known fact: The song was originally written for a sound track for a 1955 black and white prison movie titled "Unchained". The lyrics were from a prisoner who was pining for his wife. The entire movie is actually available on RUclips.
Unchain melody belongs to Bobby Hatfield. His vocal range, his breathing, the warmth and his voice, his composure, his singing, with no strain at all, and the melodious tune make him perfect for this song. This is the best my performance I have ever seen.
This is my mother and father's "song". My father passed 5 years ago and today would have been his 78th birthday. Crazy that you'd do this today of all days. Thank you for the smiles and good memories. Love you guys
I think this is a lot of couples’ song from our generation. It’s such a perfect song in that respect. In fact it’s so popular that there are tons of covers of it out there. Bobby’s just happens to be the best of the best IMO, although, personally, I prefer the official release version of his better than this one. It’s still lovely though.
Thank you all for your kind words and best wishes. The NZ family (viewers included) are the salt of the earth. Bless you all and nothing but love and respect for all of you.
This has always been one of my favorite songs. My husband and I would dance to this. Natural talent and zero auto tune. This is one of few where only one of them sang. Ghost I think is the most recognized movies it was played in.
This is such a classic song. When i was growing up my mom would always have an oldies radio station playing when she would do things around the house, and thanks to her i got into the 60s, 70s, etc, so good
The "Righteous Brothers" was a name that Bobby Hatfield (your singer tonight) and Bill Medley acquired while performing at a club in the south. When they had finished their show and were walking offstage, a black Marine stood up and said, "That's righteous, brother." Their singng style was often referred to as "Blue-Eyed Soul." Some interesting facts about this performance are: it was performed on The Andy Williams Show's Valentine's Day Special of 1965. The Bros were dressed identically and Andy Williams, who was a singing star right up there with the likes of Sinatra, Dean Martin, the late, RIP Tony Bennet, was attired in a pink pullover and white trousers for the VD Special. Andy talked with The Bros for a few minutes and Bobby was the main responder. He seemed to be almost gasping for air as he spoke, actually, he was suffering from an upper respiratory infection, a cold, bronchitis? Bobby also suffered from extreme stage fright to the point where he would lose his lunch, rather violently before going onstage. If that wasn't bad enough, his mother was in the audience watching him perform live for the very first time and he was very worried about disappointing her. Pretty sure nobody was disappointed with what has been called the best live vocal performance of all time.
You chose a real gem as your first one. Wow. This is considered one of the best live recordings ever. That's Bobby Hatfield singing. Bill Medley (for real) was his singing partner. This just happened to be a solo. The Righteous Brothers were not a one hit wonder. There's a longer clip, in which the setup for just Bobby singing is made. So he had just been speaking right before starting this song, he was actually a little sick, and he was nervous because his mother was in the crowd. Oh- and Bobby was not a professionally trained singer.
I read several times ( google/wikipedia) that he studied on the south california university for about 4 years. One can hear that he trained the voice and also his breathing. One can whatch it with opera tenors. FromGER.
@@sylviabuck3369 this one has read he is untrained. So I guess that means either something or nothing, depending on how much you feel we should regard each other's opinions that are based on reading something.

This song has a special place in the hearts of a lot of people. A lot of us were heading to Vietnam right after this song came out. Still think of those days.
😅actually his Mother was in the audience. First time she had seen him sing in public. Bobby had a bit of a cold and wD worried about hitting that high note. His happiness at the end of song is just adorable. I'm an 82 year old Yank so this is true story.
OMG the Righteous Brothers! They were so awesome when they came out in 1964. You need to listen to all of their songs. I grew up in the 60's listening to their beautiful music. They were awesome! RIP Bobby! We miss your beautful voice! God bless you!!!❤❤❤
I saw them in concert in the 90's, and they gave a beautiful intro to it. This song came out in 1965 while the Vietnam War was escalating and young men were forced into service through the draft. They said they received such amazing letters of appreciation from the soldiers as this song became their love song to their significant others back home while they're fighting a horrible war. Great reaction, guys! Keep it up!
They had a lot of hits, "Soul and Inspiration", "Ebb Tide", "You've Lost That Loving Feeling", "Just Once In My Life", "Rock and Roll Heaven" are some of the best!!! They are mostly slow songs!!
For the fast songs, look for Little Latin Lupe Lu, which Bill Medley wrote, and Justine. For a real bluesy jam, look for Night Time is the Right Time. Bill sang The Time of My Life with Jennifer Warner’s (for the movie Dirty Dancing) and won a Grammy. Bill is still singing (he’s 82), and I’m going to see him perform! His last 2 albums were of blues songs, and they’re great (Your Heart to Mine and Damn Near Righteous). Enjoy!

The movie "Ghost" with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. They always performed together back then. So glad to see y'all loved that one. It was a huge hit and I was 13 at the time it came out.
A little history about that song: he was actually singing that song with his mother in the audience, and she had never heard it before so he said on an interview once that he was nervous because his mom was going to be hearing it for the first time. Very sweet.
The great Bobby Hatfield, one half of the Righteous Brothers. The other half was Bill Medley. Where Bobby was able to hit the high notes effortlessly Bill had the deep rich voice. The two had a lot of success with their remarkable harmonies and unbelievable talent. Funny, the story as to how they got their name goes...they were preforming in this little club when after singing one of their songs, some guy shouted the performance was "righteous brothers" and they liked the way it sounded so the name was born.
So happy that I grew up with The Righteous Brothers, and many other artists, who were simply some of the best talent ever placed on the earth. For me, and others my age, these songs aren't just "memories" - they are a snapshot of our lives. Bobby Hatfield singing "Unchained Melody" created one of the greatest love songs of all time. I cherish every moment I danced with my darling to this masterpiece.
The Righteous Brother's music was often called "blue-eyed soul." Bobby Hatfield has unfortunately passed away. I believe Bill Medley, the other half of the team, is still living. We had this song sung at our wedding. It is indeed, romantic.

This song is more than famous. It has been covered by over 600 other artists, though none of them ‘own’ it the way Bobbie Hatfield does. Professional music teachers, opera singers, experts in musical technique rave about the quality of his voice and his mastery of the medium. He was the rarest of masculine voices - a counter tenor, who could hit pure notes and hold them that many sopranos would struggle with. He rarely used falsetto. He didn’t need to. Unchained Melody was one of the most played songs of the 20th century. Another Righteous Brothers song “You Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’” was the most requested song of the 20th century, That’s right! More than the Beatles or Elvis or anyone else you might care to name. It amazes me when people say they have never heard of them. They were and are among the giants of popular music. And as also every commentator notes - no auto tune, no gimmicks - just pure unparalleled talent.
Love Unchained Melody! The Righteous Brothers were two guys singing together, they really weren’t Brothers except as friends. Bobby Hatfield was the solo singer on Unchained Melody. He had a fantastic voice and expansive range vocally. Bill Medley who was the other half of the group sang the beautiful lower baritone and bass on their songs when they sang together. The song was used in the movie Ghost with Patrick Swayze & Demi Moore. You should listen to You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling.
Fun fact about Bobby, he was into sports while in school and he was actually being scouted by pro baseball teams. He could have been a pro baseball player, but he chose his music and I am so glad he did. His nickname was The Blond Bomber. Bobby and his voice were truly a work of art, every song he sang was pure magic. For me, Bobby was the best singer God put on this earth, and he will always be my favorite. If you want to hear more of just Bobby try, "Only You", "For Your Love", "Love You for Sentimental Reasons", "Ebb Tide", " My Prayer", "Crying In The Chapel", "Stay With Me", "I Need A Girl", and many others. Him and Bill had several great hits together as well, "You've Lost That Loving Feeling", "Soul and Inspiration", "I'm So Lonely", "Rock and Roll Heaven", and so many others. Thanks for doing this one, this song truly belongs to Bobby!

The 60’s had some of the all-time BEST songs ever and they’re still very popular. The song, Unchained Melody, was in more than one movie and that’s where you’ve probably heard it before. But, no one sang it better than The Righteous Brothers. 💕❤️💕
The song originally was in an old prison movie I believe titled similarly. There were a few versions before this one. I heard the original version and others thereafter but none of them were successful with good reason, (very dreary), until Bobby sang it. That voice, even with a cold and nerves because his mother was hearing him perform live, professionally for the first time, was insanely amazing. I watch people’s reactions all of the time and this song always gets the best. Someone mentioned you talking during the performance, it’s alright. They may not understand reaction videos. I don’t care for people stopping and starting constantly without rewinding it back a bit. They usually miss the best parts. I believe you guys did great. If you get a chance please watch the extended version with Bill Medley and Andy Williams, that includes the setup for this performance. Actually look up all things Righteous Brothers. The phrase Blue Eyed Soul was coined for them and rightfully so. 😊
I was 13 when this song came out and it has the same impact on me today as when it came out. This is, by far, the best slow dance song ever written and performed. Tell your daughter when she goes to a dance to request this song. She'll know what to do. Same thing for the young guy.
If you want to hear both of them play "You've Got That Loving Feeling" They sing in tandem and it was the most played record on radio for entire 19th century. Unchained Melody was my favorite bot I loved everything they put out. Love the shirt, I was born and raised in Chicago.

Yes, this song was performed by just one of the duo....Bobby Hatfield. This duo were not actually brothers, but they came up with the name when they were performing at a military base, and a guy in the audience said, "That was righteous brother". Sam, I'm sure that you don't recognize me, as I used a different name in the past, but I'm the guy who sent you your first ever package from America...a Justin Tucker jersey, and when I saw that it was a bit too big, I sent you a smaller one. I just want to say that I love your family and your videos, and it's really great to see how much more mature Denzel and Atlanta have grown over the last few years. Denzel is growing into a handsome young man, and Atlanta is growing into a beautiful young woman. Spend as much time as you can with your kids, because they will grow up really fast, and move out to be on their own. Another great singer, who is still alive today and performing, is Tom Jones. That was a joke…neither of them had any doubts that it would be a hit…in fact they each wanted to be the one to record/perform it. It was such a popular song that 3 different acts charted with it in 1955, the year the movie “Unchained” came out.

Bobby Hattfield was one-half of the Righteous Brothers, and they were most certainly not "one hit wonders." They were a big bit hit here in the US in the 60's. I, as a teenager girl was among the many who had a crush on Bobby Hattfield after he sang this song on LIVE TV on the Andy Williams Show. There was no auto-tune, just his voice, LIVE on TV. He had only one shot at it - and you saw it. It's been considered arguably the finest televised live performance ever, of all time. The Righteous Brothers went on to record many other hits - like "You've Lost the Loving Feeling," "Soul and Inspiration," "You'll Never Walk Alone," "Just Once in my Life," "Georgia on my Mind," and others. But what you saw was Bobby's best. You'll never see a finer performance - or better talent - anywhere. Ever.

A lesser known fact: The song was originally written for a sound track for a 1955 black and white prison movie titled "Unchained". The lyrics were from a prisoner who was pining for his wife. The entire movie is actually available on RUclips.
Watch them sing “lost that loving feeling” together, it’s a video in black and white 👍 great to see you guys again!!!!
Hi 👋
Unchain melody belongs to Bobby Hatfield. His vocal range, his breathing, the warmth and his voice, his composure, his singing, with no strain at all, and the melodious tune make him perfect for this song. This is the best my performance I have ever seen.
Hello 👋
Ghost the movie
He didn’t even need to raise an eyebrow or scream to deliever those high notes and looked not any exhausted at all. That’s what real talent is
Hi 👋
This is my mother and father's "song". My father passed 5 years ago and today would have been his 78th birthday. Crazy that you'd do this today of all days. Thank you for the smiles and good memories. Love you guys
I think this is a lot of couples’ song from our generation. It’s such a perfect song in that respect. In fact it’s so popular that there are tons of covers of it out there. Bobby’s just happens to be the best of the best IMO, although, personally, I prefer the official release version of his better than this one. It’s still lovely though.
Sorry for your loss.
Thank you for sharing. Stay safe wish you and those close to you nothing but the best
God Bless your Dad❤️
Thank you all for your kind words and best wishes. The NZ family (viewers included) are the salt of the earth. Bless you all and nothing but love and respect for all of you.
This has always been one of my favorite songs. My husband and I would dance to this.
Natural talent and zero auto tune.
This is one of few where only one of them sang.
Ghost I think is the most recognized movies it was played in.
This is such a classic song. When i was growing up my mom would always have an oldies radio station playing when she would do things around the house, and thanks to her i got into the 60s, 70s, etc, so good
One of the greatest live vocals of all time.
Hi 👋
The "Righteous Brothers" was a name that Bobby Hatfield (your singer tonight) and Bill Medley acquired while performing at a club in the south. When they had finished their show and were walking offstage, a black Marine stood up and said, "That's righteous, brother."
Their singng style was often referred to as "Blue-Eyed Soul."
Some interesting facts about this performance are: it was performed on The Andy Williams Show's Valentine's Day Special of 1965.
Also, the reason Bobby sang that night instead of Bill was the result of a coin toss. At least, that's the rumor I've heard.
No it was because bill didn’t think the song would be a hit so he didn’t want to sing it . He also stated boy was I wrong 😊
@@leejshafer during shows like this back then, comedy was part of the act. Seems very plain that they were joking around.
He was singing this song live and he had a cold but wanted to get it right as his mum was in the Audience!I think we can safely say that he managed it !Nobody sings this song like Bobby Hatfield, many have tried but failed !😍👏👏👏👏👏
Hi 👋
Hi 👋
This song has a special place in the hearts of a lot of people. A lot of us were heading to Vietnam right after this song came out. Still think of those days.
Bless you, my Brother.
Thank you for your service
Thank you for your service. My late husband also served in Vietnam.
Bless you I was there in 69 glad I made it will be 74 next month 🇺🇸🇺🇸
His smile at the end always gets me 🥰
Hi 👋
His parents were in the audience that evening. Yeah a little nervousness there. Parents always made me nervous.
😅actually his Mother was in the audience. First time she had seen him sing in public. Bobby had a bit of a cold and wD worried about hitting that high note. His happiness at the end of song is just adorable. I'm an 82 year old Yank so this is true story.
Not quite right.
They were extremely popular for many, many years and that song became Iconic
OMG the Righteous Brothers! They were so awesome when they came out in 1964. You need to listen to all of their songs. I grew up in the 60's listening to their beautiful music. They were awesome! RIP Bobby! We miss your beautful voice! God bless you!!!❤❤❤
I saw them live in Balboa, CA in 1963.
REAL VOICES 🎤💕
NO AUTOTUNE 🇺🇸
Love the Righteous Brothers. Another good one is You've lost that loving feeling. Both of them sing that song. Thank you. Really enjoyed it.
Keep it up!
Hi 👋
A live, flawless performance by Bobby Hatfield. My favorite male singer of all times.
Hi 👋
Seeing it live is great. Going decades listening is phenomenal.
If you want to hear Bobby hit a high note, watch him sing Summertime, I swear he invented a new high note.
Hello 👋
Enjoy!
Amazing performance singing with a cold and his mother in the audience.
Greatest performance in history .
The song "you've lost that loving Feeling" showcases both brothers and certainly not a one hit wonder.... Also, ZERO autotune. That was live on a single take
The video and audio are slightly out of sync on every version I have seen which is maddening
@@bbb462cid Yes. I think it's the conversion from 1960s television to 60 yrs later digital video. But, no doubt how great they were. Can't wait to see them do "you've lost that lovin' Feeling"
Go to Wikipedia for their background. RUclips/YT Music, the app, would be, for you, an audio-visual cheat sheet. It does list and provide their other recordings.
They were not brothers. Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield.
@@michaelsmith-iu1be Yes. I am just saying the other member billed as a brother killed it in "you lost that loving feeling"
The movie "Ghost" with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. That was Bobby Hatfield singing, there is another one Bill Medley that is the second half of the Righteous Brothers and not sure why he wasn't singing with Bobby on that one. They always performed together back then. So glad to see y'all loved that one. It was a huge hit and I was 13 at the time it came out.
Bill was off stage with Andy Williams. They didn't always sing together. This is the one that Bobby sang by himself.
They routinely had “solos” on each album.
A little history about that song: he was actually singing that song with his mother in the audience, and she had never heard it before so he said on an interview once that he was nervous because his mom was going to be hearing it for the first time. Very sweet.
Hi 👋
The great Bobby Hatfield, one half of the Righteous Brothers. The other half was Bill Medley. Where Bobby was able to hit the high notes effortlessly Bill had the deep rich voice. The two had a lot of success with their remarkable harmonies and unbelievable talent. Funny, the story as to how they got their name goes...they were preforming in this little club when after singing one of their songs, some guy shouted the performance was "righteous brothers" and they liked the way it sounded so the name was born.
Hi 👋
Their song You've lost that loving feeling was the most played song of the 20th century .
Hi 👋
The Righteous Brother's music was often called "blue-eyed soul." Bobby Hatfield has unfortunately passed away. I believe Bill Medley, the other half of the team, is still living. We had this song sung at our wedding. It is indeed, romantic.
Bill Medley is still performing. He found singer Bucky Heard and asked him to join him as a Righteous Brother.
Wonderful to hear.
@@snowflakehunter I had read that. Sad.
@@snowflakehunter Actually, he didn't die from an overdose. If that trace amount was really there, it may have caused the heart attack he was bound to have to occur a bit sooner. He was in serious need of bypass surgery. The medical examiner said he couldn't see him living through that month. So, no he wouldn't be still here
@@snowflakehunter Sorry. He had blocked arteries and high blood pressure like many older guys do. It's caused by diet and genetics. There is nothing in the autopsy or his medical history that suggests long term use. This internet nonsense about cocaine use is exactly that. Frankly, I don't care what you imagine you know, but I won't let it stand so others think you are correct.
Home Free is an American acapella group & they covered this song about 2 yrs ago 🤔, but it is amazing! All their music is incredibly mind blowing ❤❤
OMG~ YES!!!!!
Home Free is my favorite band. They are absolutely brilliant and hilarious!
they need to try several of the new acapella groups... Home Free, Voice Play, Pentatonix...

Home Free is amazing. Talk about a vocal range. All five have beautiful voices, their beatboxer is a beast and their bass singer has a 5 octave range. He can rattle your bones with his bass growl and sing a beautiful tenor and even hit a falsetto or two.
His parents were at this performance. So he made his folks damn proud. Bobby Hatfield is easily one of the best singers ever
Hi 👋
Mom was there, not dad.
Hey guys!! My 9 year old daughter and I LOVE watching your reactions. Your kids are such lovely people too. Great job mom and dad!! This was such a good reaction. Thank you for sharing it with us. Definitely not a one hit wonder. They were huge for decades. You should definitely react to You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling where you’ll hear the other Righteous Brother and his voice will also blow your mind. Simply an incredible duo. Much love to you and your family. ❤
Did not expect this one from you guys, but glad you did it 😊👍
That song is too beautiful, and his voice is too amazing to have you talk all the way through it.

Ghost!! awesome movie watch, RIP Patrick Swayze. Always loved this song.
Best song ever, grow up listing to this and still love it when I hear it being play. ❤❤❤❤
Excellent song choice to react to.
Growing up in that era, there is 2 of them that sing together. One solo that he did by himself that you heard. Before they got famous, they used to play in bars or pubs.
And after their performance, one man came up to them and said that is righteous brothers, At that time they did not have a name for the group, So that is what they went with. True story. They had a bunch of other hit but that was their most famous. Also one of my most favorites!
They used to sing in a bar near a Marine base and the Marines would come listen - as mentioned by @jackrolfson312, it was the Marines that gave them their name.
Thank you for that information that's always nice to know.
@@jackrolfson312 I've heard interviews where they've said (or at least from Bill Medley) upon hearing their name, people expect them to be black and sing gospel. They are always surprised.
Not a one hit wonder ... these guys were the hottest thing going in the sixties. They had 22 songs in the Billboard Hot 100 and three albums in the top 20 simultaneously. They started out singing Rhythm and Blues at a time only black singers sang R&B and their music was considered to 'hard' for radio....ruclips.net/video/N6O-fFgl5vE/видео.html
@@zanhar7688 That's right - I had forgotten about that. They were thought to be black by people who hadn't seen them because of their name and their singing.
Hi 👋
Love Unchained Melody! The Righteous Brothers were two guys singing together, they really weren’t Brothers except as friends. Bobby Hatfield was the solo singer on Unchained Melody. He had a fantastic voice and expansive range vocally. Bill Medley who was the other half of the group sang the beautiful lower baritone and bass on their songs when they sang together. The song was used in the movie Ghost with Patrick Swayze & Demi Moore. You should listen to You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling.
I was 10 years old when I watched this on the Andy Williams show. Bobby Hatfield was amazing. RIP 🙏
I was 15...
Quite possibly the greatest song ever sung it is a multi generational masterpiece
2 greatest live were thus and Elvis If I can dream

Bobby was a legend!

If you've seen the movie Ghost with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore, that's probably where you heard this song. Great song and great movie!!
🎉Man likes to hear his own voice.
Oh, bye the way, this is one of more than 700 performances bye others , and no one has ever even come close to him . The performance in the movie "Ghost" is well remembered .
Oh, wow. I usually catch your videos a few days after the fact.
This popped right up on my feed. Great stuff. Handsome family.
I was 13 when this song came out and it has the same impact on me today as when it came out. This is, by far, the best slow dance song ever written and performed. Tell your daughter when she goes to a dance to request this song. She'll know what to do. Same thing for the young guy.

The Righteous Brothers are an American musical duo originally formed by Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. At times performing alone like in this single. Bill Medley has the Base Voice, while Bobby Hatfield had the higher voice. Both voices could reach according to the songs need. In this show the Andy Williams Show Andy Williams interviews both artists and performs as well.

I heard he was one of the nicest people in the industry too.
What am epic performance to start with! You're setting the bar very high, love it!! ❤
Hi 👋
Yes, this song was performed by just one of the duo....Bobby Hatfield. This duo were not actually brothers, but they came up with the name when they were performing at a military base, and a guy in the audience said, "That was righteous brother". The other part of the duo is Bill Medley. Bill has a deep voice, and the songs "Heart and Inspiration", ( ruclips.net/video/cwTdRpYTS4c/видео.html ) as well as "You've Lost That Loving Feeling"( ruclips.net/video/uOnYY9Mw2Fg/видео.html )are great examples of the duo singing. You may have heard the latest song by Bill Medley (Bobby Hatfield had passed away by then), it was a duet with Bill and Jennifer Warren called "I've Had The Time Of My life", ( ruclips.net/video/4BQLE_RrTSU/видео.html ) which was sung in the movie, Dirty Dancing.

Hi 👋
Sam your family picked a great song to react to. Bobby Hatfield of the Rightous Brothers had a very great vocal range This has been used in many movies including the movie Ghost. This is from the Andy Williams show and Bill Melody the other one is in the wings with Andy because this is a solo. And his Mom and Dad were in the crowd seeing him live for the first time.
True crooner skill. Your daughter was fun to watch as she was very emotive.
His mum was in the audience and it was the first time she had heard him sing live, so he killed it.
Nadines reaction is so genuine! I think she was swooning😅

His name was Bobby (Bobby Hatfield 1940-2003), and he took Unchained Melody to a very high level. May he rest in peace and may the earth be light for him. Indeed, we are dust, nothing but dust (by the way, isn't it written: "you who admired me yesterday, do you know that I will be dust forever tomorrow?"). Rest in peace Bobby; Amen
Hi 👋
Elvis also did a version of this that’s incredible and I think you’d enjoy it!
The movie you are thinking about is “Ghost”. This song was performed without auto tune. What you hear is his actual voice. His name is Bobby Hatfield. The other member is Bill Medley. This song was written as a solo and Hatfield recorded the song. Another hit song by them is “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” The duo had quite a few hit singles.
Y’all don’t realize this has been a huge hit for over 50 years in the US. There are two of them, this was his solo turn.
The other brother said on live T.V. that he didn't think this song was going to be a hit, so he let him do this one alone. Turned out to be a major hit.
That was a joke…neither of them had any doubts that it would be a hit…in fact they each wanted to be the one to record/perform it.
It was such a popular song that 3 different acts charted with it in 1955, the year the movie “Unchained” came out.
@@ChicagoDB and, of course, Bill and Bobby were not brothers either :)
Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. Not brothers.
It was on the movie Ghost with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.
So happy y’all did this! Without a doubt probably the single greatest live performance ever. No gimmicks, no voice modifications just pure talent. I doubt anyone today could pull it off. The 50s had some fantastic music, keep going down this road. (In just a couple of minutes millions of women fell head over heels…& 9 months later millions of babies were born lol) -too bad you missed the introduction to this video, both Bill & Bobby explained things.
Goose pimple time.Absolutely flawless. 🇬🇧🏴
Ever.
