    "Natural Habitat, the gas station" truer words have never been spoken. This is the first car I've owned that I've had to go to to the gas station twice in one day during regular use(i.e. no road trip or track day).

    nice car, great review. that was my 2015 Sti in his shop (AWDSTI). i wouldn't bring my car anywhere else. The tech Ben, Bren and Chris know what they're doing. Glad you're happy, but that seems to be the norm there.

      Great guys all of em! I will be doing a proper review of the ABS, DCT, MDM, and some of the coding perks and how it improves the over experience of driving. #stayTuned

    I haven't had a chance to share that I've picked up an e90 M3 as well. Looking forward to more e92 M3 videos. I don't have crazy plans with mine either. Just gas, driving and a lot of smiles.

      +Tedward 2011 manual sedan. Not the 'unicorn' spec though, non-comp pack, moonroof, jerez on black, edc, tech/premium/cold weather packages. It's been great fun so far! Thinking about aftermarket warranties and at least a blackstone on the next oil change.

    Totally agree about getting better results with a tune done specifically for that car. When you're ready for your next upgrade, check out our full bolt on performance flex fuel systems. It'll work seamlessly with your tune from BrenTuning.

    Really enjoyed this video and those are very respectable gains out of a nearly stock s65. I’ll have to bring mine to Bren and see what he can do! Subscribed to you now sir 👍

    Ted, I’m looking to have my car dynoed a dynojet next week. The question I have for you is were there any steps taken before you had your car on the machine. For example did you have to pull out any certain fuse or disable anything? Also,3 or 4 gear?

    • @TedwardDrives
      @TedwardDrives  7 лет назад +1

      As far as I know nothing special (but Bren is the expert not me)... He ran my car in 3rd

  • @paulsingh9043
    @paulsingh9043 6 лет назад +4

    Surely raising the red line to 8600 is madness?, otherwise the bmw m3 designers would have already made it that?. The reason it's 8200rpm is that bmw deemed that the safest and they would have made it that to make sure your engine had longevity.
    I really hope you don't blow your engine !...or it's tears and a 20k bill!...please keep us informed , i am getting the Gts gearbox tune but really dont want to play around with an engine tune on a n/a car, good luck!

    • @TedwardDrives
      @TedwardDrives  6 лет назад +2

      We've seen them tuned up to 9k safely but basically stops making power. Plus the car rarrrrely sees 8600 and when it does its not there for long. it has about 6500 miles on that tune and so far it's a happy engine and oil analysis is still squeaky clean. The full blown GTS tune requires an additional transmission cooler (that only the GTS car got) so most tuners will tune to the spec just below GTS. If you do use the GTS tune, just be aware that it can overheat the gearbox. Happy tuning and enjoy that car!

  • @TheTopher

    • @TedwardDrives

      +Mike M so far so good. Passed inspection. No lights. Cold start is a bit more aggressive but not
      Obnoxious. Fuel Econ is about the same at 21 to 22 highway (at speed)

    Can i ask you how is the car today almost 3 years after the tune? Did u have any issues with it or the car runs good till today? Tyvm man i just have a 08 e92 m3 too planning to tune it but a little afraid since electronics on these cars are so unreliable.

    • @TedwardDrives
      @TedwardDrives  4 года назад +2

      Over 86k miles now so about 30k miles on the tune. I’ve done maybe 10 track days and loads of daily driver miles. Never had any engine issues. Once in a while in cold weather it would hunt for an idle but it was a rare occurrence. The car really has held up and continues to serve as my daily

    What is the most you can get out of these without boosting it?

    • @TedwardDrives
      @TedwardDrives  7 лет назад +1

      You could get 20-30hp by eliminating the primary and secondary cats. After that you'd be looking at more intense modifications to milk out more without boost (which is why the Superchargers are sooooo appealing)

    NA tuning is for Real tuners... thats why they told you NA mods are harder! if i have that M3 in my garage I would custom tune the stock cams and eleminate that vanos shit and make that car go directly well over 400whp while still %100 daily driver :-D
