The usual brutal attack by cops. "There weren't 14 contacts" - as we watched the taser pressed into her body over and over. Two big, strong men couldn't control a slim 5'1" woman without torturing her. Having pepper spray and brass knuckles for self protection isn't a crime, especially when she didn't even reach for them. Two brawny pretend 'men' with no balls so they had to show their superiority with the taser. Disgusting.

I’ve worked in Security for over 30 years and this Cop should have been able to handle her without the taser.
What makes you think he couldn't handle her??? Problem is when you are trying to cuff a frail malnourished meth head you can easily snap a bone forcing them into cuffs. Just like arm wrestlers snap arms and these are the arms of extremely strong men. I would think a 30 year top flight security guard would know this. But then again security guards are not scrutinized or held to the same standards as police are even though they are responsible for far more injuries and deaths than police are. At the Walmart by my house 3 security guards were arrested for murder because they were sitting on top of a shoplifter. The shoplifter said he couldn't breathe and these security guys said probably the stupidest thing anyone in the world could say when they said " you wouldn't be able to talk if you couldn't breathe" and of course they suffocated him to death.
The police were absolutely in the wrong. She can sue and have a good chance of winning.
People who say this is excessive have never tried to force someone into handcuffs that doesn’t want to be in handcuffs.
The trick is not forcing them into cuffs. The trick is forcing them into cuffs with minimal injury. A single officer could have cuffed her easily if he'd shoved a nightstick into her solar plexus and then brought it down on the back of her neck. But then liberals' eyes start brimming with tears and all the topsoil gets washed away and the harvest fails so we can't do that.

I agree with Joseph Melosh. Question: Did the people in these comments require training to know this is wrong? Most people watching this know there's a better way. If this cop had a conscience he wouldn't need to be trained again for something so basic. I would argue that this is not a "training" issue, but rather a pathology issue and a morality issue. A person can be highly trained and still have poor judgment and ill intent. Which calls into question the institution that defends this kind of trash. There's a reason these videos keep coming to light more and more, because the policing profession attracts these personality types. How many times have seen cops be the aggressors and unnecessarily escalate situations? Policing is just a legal outlet for their thuggery. It's the new norm.
Some people do not listen and actively resist. I cannot blame the officer here, she fought and did the opposite of what she was being asked to do. Eventually, she got it, but it took 14 zaps to understand.

Her physical size is irrelevant. She was being obstreperous and not complying with officers. All she had to is put her hands behind her back, and she refused to do that, so she got tased. And the witnesses have no idea whether it was justified or not. The police absolutely made the right call.

My doctor said if I were to get tazed once it could do serious damage to my weak heart. That poor woman. I doubt she was a shoplifter, yet I see a lot of people delighting in the abuse she received...I'd like to ask them how they'd react if it were an elderly woman with dementia. Because that happened before.

I know that from experience when I went shopping with my cousin. The cops jumped her and kept me away from her because my cousin is older and I was like 9 (this was a time before body cams) and my cousin who is black got treated really bad and it triggered her seizures. Thankfully she's still alive but a cashier in the mall called the cops on us because we "didn't match" Edit: I was a little white kid.

So what he did is what’s called a pain compliance. It’s not as bad as antidote getting tasered via prongs. For people to say “that’s a crime what he did” or “that’s excessive force” or “she could have had a seizure” it’s stupid. She broke the law, she resisted arrest, she deserved what she got. They do the pain compliance with the taser because they always do that to make someone stand down and put their hand behind their backs without having to injure the suspect or themselves. Let's say the police asked her if she has any stolen merchandise on her and she says no I don't? Are they supposed to just tell her ok have a nice day then tell the Walmart people that she said she didn't steal anything. What happens if the Walmart people say she is lying to them? Then what?? Are they just going to go back and forth like a ping pong ball?? The store accusing her of shoplifting is all the police need to detain her while they do their investigation to see if she was shoplifting.
