If I were in Texas I would vote for Allred, I've watched many interviews with him and he seems like a decent man who wants what is best for the country. I grew up in El Paso, Texas, in the 1970s and none of the men I knew, my family's ranching friends and their families, would have ever voted for a weasel like Cruz. Not sure what's going on down there, but I remember tough, country candidates who had common sense and some wisdom. Yeah, there were those fat cat local guys, especially the sheriffs, who had their regional power and were corrupt as all get out, but mostly there was a sort of down home concern for the people. I see Cruz, and the word that comes to mind is "slimy." Not "Texas."
