We loved some pretty mediocre songs when they first came out. These are the tracks that have defined some lives or been used for some occasions and events that many people consider timeless. But as they've aged they've only shown themselves to be flavor of the moment tracks that gained immortality even if it wasn't really warranted. Here you have 10 such examples of adored mediocrity.

Confession: I was once in a band where the lead singer really wanted to cover "Crazy Bitch" ~ Buckcherry for our next gig. Needless to say, the rest of us weren't having any of that shit. That band also didn't last long after that. Thank fucking god.

I was driving to work on a cold dark morning at 4:30am when I first heard "Picture" from Kid Lame, I mean rock. I could not help but think if I someone else was driving on the road at the same time I was, listening to the local radio station, like I was, and was suffering from depression, that they would probably drive off the side of the road to end their life and most likely take me with them.

    9. I only liked it evaluate of Guitar Hero. Now I hate it.
    8. F**k this band and f**k this song.
    7. Loved it as a kid but then I got older and thought, "What was I listening to as a child?"
    6. I actually still love that song. Is that bad?
    5. Hated it when it first came out and still hate it today. Was Mick Jagger really need for the video?
    4. Wasn't THAT bad to me. I definitely prefer "Devil Without a Cause" though.
    3. When it first came out I banged my head so hard to this song and now it makes my ears bleed.
    2. I kind of have I bias with this song because my friends and I would sing it all the time and I just think of them when I hear it but I see where you're coming from.

    10. I can agree that Enter Sandman's been overplayed to death and can be a bit cheesy (and there are better Metallica songs out there), but I don't think it's necessarily a bad song.
    9. It was fun to play on Guitar Hero 3, but yeah, extremely overrated.
    8. Oh yeah, I listened to this as a little kid a lot, and it has not aged well at all (just like everything associated with Nickelback).
    7. Not familiar with that one.
    6. I liked it a lot as a little kid, but it hasn't really aged well either. In the end, it doesn't really matter (pun intended lol).
    5. Fuck that song, I hated it when it came out and I still hate it today.
    4. Don't remember hearing this one.
    3. I wasn't as exposed to it as much you were (I was like 6 when it came out), but the song is stupid and dated too.
    2. I remember getting a musical toothbrush that played this song while brushing. I hate it when music becomes so overtly-commercial like that. Another overrated, bland tune.
    1. I knew you were gonna say that one. I remember hearing that one all the time a while back. I don't hear it much these days and I'm not really annoyed with the song, but I can understand your frustration with it.

I won't deny it, I still dig some of these tracks. To be honest, the only reason I still kind of enjoy enter sandman, is because of how utterly corny it sounds these days.
The issue I have with time of your life (even as a die hard green day fan) is that not only has it been played to death, but there's a good few other songs by the band that would have the same, or a similar effect

Ooooh, uh, is it bad that I still like 6 out of these 10 songs? The ones I don't like (and never liked, and no, not even Nookie as I never heard it when it was popular, I first heard it when I saw Marc Mues' review of it) are Rockstar, Crazy Bitch, Nookie (as mentioned earlier), and that song you had @ #9. Crazy Bitch & your #9 I hadn't heard, and I never fucking liked Rockstar (despite actually kinda liking Nickelback, please don't kill me), and Nookie (see above explanation). Overall, though, good video. Oh, and btw, I think there's only one version of Moves Like Jagger, that one being the one w/ Christina Aguilera.

Überweiss The Nirvana song? Seriously way overplayed to death. Never a favorite song from "Nevermind" either.

that whole album is perfect, but I do skip that one. based solely on the fact that I've heard it so so so much.

I understand that you are exaggerating the hate for each one of these songs in this video, but holy crap.

How about "The Final Countdown" from Europe? It has overshadowed many great songs from the band with its excessive radio play.

    10. Metallica's most overrated and boring song, I don't understand why people play that Metallica song when they have so many, much better songs.
    9. Never been into Dragonforce but that song is their most overrated.
    8. I think Nickelback is one of the worst bands in the world, but that song is OK. Mostly because of the humoristic lyrics.
    7. I have never heard that one, so no opinion.
    6. I have never liked Linkin Park, and that song is no exception.
    5. I actually likes this song. But This Love is better.
    4. See number seven.
    3. Not a Limp Bizkit fan and this song is not making me one.
    2. I like KISS but this song is overrated and hasn't aged very well.
    1. See number six or three

the only one I disagree with you on is the one about In the End... I still find it mesmerizing to listen to and get kind of a nostalgic feeling when listening to it. I can agree however with the emo culture and internet ruining it... but when youre in it for the music, you can usually put that aside

It is not fair to describe a composition's quality by how it is used by third parties later on the radio, supermarket or social events. There are too many places where music is forced upon us and becomes background noise. I do not share the same feelings towards this music, because I don't go out much or listen to the radio due to its poor quality. I do love Sandstorm and Rick Astley, which have been misappropriated by milennials on social media.

Tbh I feel as if Limp Bizkit had choose a different vocalist who could actually rap and sing instead of Fred Durst they could have still been as big now as they were back then kinda like a RATM because honestly the guitarist Wes Borland is really talented and the bassist Sam Rivers. I can honestly say Nookie's guitar parts are heavy as fuck and I can just ignore Fred's voice

I normally hold very similar opinions, but, I definitely DO NOT like nookie, and i never have. In fact, I cant think of anyone who did like it. None of my friends liked it, unless they were lying about digging it lol. I have despised that band from the moment I heard them. I honestly don't find it a stretch to believe when someone tells me they dislike it, it is a horrible song, after all.
