Something I miss about the old videos was bringing up design failures like the pontoon bracing. 8 years later, I still love all of your videos though.

My favorite FT plane by far!!! I am a huge fan of the golden era of travel with the China Clipper and the Boeing B314 and my favorite is the Grumman Albatros (although a military/SAR aircraft). I especial liked you sharing your love of flight with your boys. The time invested with our children is1000x more valuable than any other moments in life.

Just watched this one and the build vid for the first time. I have watched 100's of your more current vids...now watching some old ones. I have to say, this was some of the BEST videography you have done...when you got the boat moving and were filming the plane from the moving boat....absolutely beautiful!!!!!

I hadn't realized that was the plane from Tale Spin. I was so drawn to your Sea Duck when I first seen it on your site. I couldn't figure out why I liked it so much, now I know, that was my favorite show as a child.

That's awesome and looks fun. The Conwing l-16 Sea Plane was always my favorite thing about that show. Can't explain it but just something about that plane and it's design and it's surf & turf capabilities, I seem to recall Blue could land it on land or sea, was the coolest thing to me at the time.

just maidened my FT Sea Duck, off the water, no winds, flat as can be but can't remember i've ever been this nervous. 2 circuits and had to land it. all went wel but so nervous forgot to put the video cam on, and put my glasses on my face... must be because of the possible trouble recovering the Sea Duck when flying it goes pearshaped. need lots more expo that's for sure but CG was perfect out of the box. thanks FT!

J&J- I've thought about doing a white foam Johnny Quest jet for years now, just been too busy, plus all my stuff is for fuel flying..
Electrics look like the answer to many problems with keeping fields. Anyway, after seeing this video, I thought "Why not?" So I humbly suggest YOU guys do it- you're already set up for it and the ideas about other cartoon airplanes really kind of strikes a chord. I'm 58, so I was watching the original JQ cartoons and Dr. Quest's jet in that era was very sleek and Concord-ish. I've not seen the new one so I can't really comment on it.. You guys are doing a great job with the Flite Test videos, I always enjoy them.

I have an idea for a plane, if anyone's interested. I've noticed that Flite Test has planes that are maneuverable, planes that are easy to fly, planes that can carry large payloads, and much more, but some categories that aren't covered as much by Flite Test are speed and war birds. Now, there is the F4u, that you released recently, but there aren't any bomber or attack planes that are offered. If you were to build an A26 Invader RC Plane, then you could cover both subjects, with a relatively simple plan. The plane itself was one of the fastest propeller bombers ever built, with top speeds reaching nearly 400 mph, aswell as maneuverabilty being comparable to that of a p51's. First made in WWII, It didn't see much action since it was made later in the war, but it fought in the Korean War, and the Vietnam war, and is still used for fire bombing today. By replicating this brilliant airframe into RC, you could deliver speed and aerobatics, with the aesthetic apeal of a twin engine medium attack bomber. As well, any reference needed for constructing plans, I could provide, as I'm co-crewchief on an A26c, that is currently being restored for Pacific Coast Air Musem, and we both have the plane nearly complete, as well as multiple books of the parts lists and diagrams originally made for constructing the aircraft. Thanks for the consideration. -Dane

can I ask which transmitter / receiver pairing you used for this model? just getting into the DIY rc space and have been looking at flitetest models most of the day, as well as some others. Also interested in 3-d printing as a medium, but seems intuitively more fragile with less favorable mass density compared to foam.
Anyways, I'm overwhelmed by picking a transmitter / receiver, would possibly just get one thru flight test via the speed build kit you linked - for simplicity. Had come across flysky transmitters as a decent brand in all my research on reddit, etc. so might as well get thru flight test. But as I don't know how long lived this interest / summer project will be, don't know if I should get the cheapest transmitter/receiver pairing or get one slightly nicer with better features, quality, and range. E.g. fs-i6x VS fs-xt8?
Thanks so much for any guidance you can offer!
