Hey, that's my mom's uncle! I'd call him grandpa. I know those kids! This is pretty cool. He passed away a few months ago. Rest in peace.

I faced the same problem in 1981 when my cousin and I went to Southwest High School in Minneapolis,MN. After school, we practiced soccer ball for Southwest High School. The school gave us tokens so after the practice we could take city bus home. When we got on the bus, the young black and white want to mess with us, cause they want to fight with us and they asked for a fight. At that time we were completely wear soccer shoes. we told them "if you really want to fight, then the next stop we have to get out off the bus and fight," but when the bus stop then the young black and white didn't want to get out and fight.

Amazing story! I was talking to my parents about our family history and mentioned about this video where there was a Hmong man named Pheng who spoke great English as the first wave of Hmong immigrants into the US. Showed it to my parents and my father immediately recognized him. His full name is Mr. Pheng Vang and is a relative of my father. My father also said they go back all the way to their days in Laos. Also Mr. Pheng Vang actually sponsored my father and his brother to come to Rhode Island and personally picked them up at the airport in 1980. Mr. Pheng Vang lived in Green Bay in the late 80s with his wife and now lives in North Carolina. I wish to meet him one day and say thanks on behalf of my family. Peace to all my Hmong family and friends.

The story about the cat as evil spirit was very funny but somewhat unique though.

It’s a true story how the spirit used the cat’s body and haunts him at night time. After the cat died they moved out. Heard the house was haunted after what happened.

"..in a fight that may have broken out because he [the Hmong kid] misread the seriousness of the black student's challenge."
That's a twisted way of putting it. In most cases (possibly all of them), Hmong kids were bullied and had little or no choice but to defend themselves. Hmong families didn't press charges because all they wanted was to forget and move on.
Moreover, the law never did work for us so why waste such efforts when we already knew what the end result would most likely be!
