  • So I got a lovely guitar, a Harley Benton CST-24T, inspired (one could say) by PRS (likely a Custom 24). I don't really know what I'm doing with it, but I had fun making the video :D

    Seems like you didn’t use the Product Showcase mode of the Pocket 3?

      I did not... I rushed way too much for the b-roll.
      This video is definitely not a representation of what this camera can do

    I have one exactly the same. It is also made of wood from a tree. It's a good guitar for the money. Changed to locking tuners. Nice Video

      Nice! I will change the tuners soon. I hope I don't have to do any woodworking, but I suppose I'll find out.
      And better video making than guitar playing here 🫣😬

      What locking tuners brand did you use?

      Gotoh SG381-04 MG-T

      @@RogerinFinland you think the prs se locking tuners will work for it?

    • @RogerinFinland
      @RogerinFinland  4 месяца назад

      Not sure what the specs are. If you have them it's easy to try.
      I can tell that these Gotoh were just drop-in. With my ST62 I had to do some woodwork with a different set of tuners.

    I'm thinking of buying this guitar, but they say it won't play well because it's been polished. I am just a guitarist, and I want playing to be enjoyable. Is this guitar suitable for me? Is the guitar you have polished?

    • @RogerinFinland
      @RogerinFinland  День назад

      I have no idea what that means 😅
      The neck is varnished, and I actually prefer the non-varnished ones (is that polished? 🤔).
      Regardless, it is comfortable and enjoyable for sure!! For that price is difficult to argue against it also.

    I have a CST-24 but it is a different colour. Do you think it is an error, or do you think maybe the wood was from a different tree? Or maybe Harley Benton's cook fried it instead of flaming it? Guitars are so hard to understand.
    Also, thank you for explaining how to tune a guitar. After forty years of playing I realise I had some of my tuners sharp and some flat. No wonder I sound so bad

      The whole flaming, baking, roasting and deep frying might give different colours, could be by design. Difficult to tell.
      And music theory is definitely important! Sharp v flat all the way!

    As a guitar player who also is in the video profession this video was a pleasant surprise
    How is Harley Benton able to basically copy the look of a PRS without getting sued ? Lol

    • @RogerinFinland
      @RogerinFinland  7 месяцев назад

      I'd love to hear more about the "pleasant surprise" 😅
      And good question. I suppose it depends on what patents different brands a) hold and b) decide to fight.
      For instance, HB does also "Les Paul-ish" guitars, but the bodies are different enough. Their "strat-ish" bodies are just plain strat but all headstocks are different.
      Also, I don't think this eats anything from PRS. Anyone in their right mind that can afford one, would get it.
      But... The HB is fun enough! 😅
