Baby Animals is my all-time favourite Hard Rock band. Suze has one of the most powerful voices in Rock.
If this band was from the US they woulda been massive....so lucky we got to experience them here in Oz.

A mate in Cairns recently linked me into the Aussie music scene of those daze . Suze IS impressive . Great 'pipes' and soft on the eyes for 'stage presence' I was involved in the music BIZ back then in Vancouver . Recording Sound Engineer . My only encounter with Aussie 'Music Artists' was with one of your jewels in Olivia NJ . And what a pleasure that was was to work with her . My involvement was with the orchestrals backing (Vancouver City Orchestra Ensemble) on her song 'MAGIC' . And Wow , was that session was ; bloody Magic . That mix made the XANADU soundtrack which kinda impressed me as I was a lad of only 26 years of age when that was recorded . Prolly the best highlight of that old career . RIP Olivia . But his Girlie , WOW . What they could have done to the Canadian music scene back in those daze . Game changer . Cheers Mates

There first charting single in Australia, they were so good. Great songs with Suzie's voice they kickass. There live gigs were also top shelf. I saw them support Screaming Jets & Hunters and Collectors and smoke them both by a long way. Aussie favourites

And Suze DeMarchi - lead singer of Baby Animals, a band made up of one short-haired chick and three long haired dudes - definitely rocked!
I mean, I always knew that she rocked because… well, look at her. She’s rockin’ some serious rock’n’roll poses; she’s giving the camera some seriously smouldering stares.
But I only recently discovered that she dated Gavin Rossdale - in the late 80s, when she was living in the UK, so don’t panic Gwen, it was long before you came along, you were still just a girl - and who wrote “Comedown” about their break up. Which begs the question: does Gavin have wall to wall mirrors in his bathroom, so he can see himself dressing with his back turned? You know what… I bet he does.
Supplementary question: Did he love Gwen cos she’s a challenge? Did he love Gwen cos she’s a CHALLENGE?
In a few years she’d marry Extreme's Nuno Bettencourt.
Should we be surprised about Suze’s Extreme-ly rockin’ love life? Hell no. What rock star wouldn’t fall in love with her?

Amazing! I came of age in the mid-90's Recovery/JJJ days so saw this stuff as yesterday's lame 80's type rock. Now I love listening to all these old Aussie bands. Their music remains fresh/timeless/classic. On the contrary, all those distortion-drenched Recovery bands I grew up on are very trapped in the 90's. It takes a healthy dose of alcohol, nostalgia & your 2 best high school mates to motivate spinning them again.

You should check out their doco it’s here on YT and it goes over their roots etc. Perth guy here myself love them and if you ever hear of Proud Mary playing (Creedence tribute act) in Perth as they do often, it features Frank and Eddie from the band :)
