Do you mean the pin 10 that is used for chip selection? I used a digital pin 10 on an Arduino UNO Rev 3 board. Sorry, I didn't have the time to dig through the Internet and find the schematics for an Arduino UNO rev 2 board. I believe you can use any digital pin as the chip select pin on this board as well.
I followed the steps didn't get any text written on display. The moment I connect display, edges color get WHITE and start to go BLACK slowly. Other than this get no response on epd. Are there any other libraries which can be used?
Hmmm interesting, well, the library I used is the "official" one from WaveShare. I do have trouble connecting the first time around with other projects. Usually, the problem is connections or using the correct version of the WaveShare module. For example, the code for epd1in54 and epd1in54_V2 is different as shown in different folders: github.com/waveshare/e-Paper/tree/master/Arduino

Hey - i tried this on a pc and saved all the links in the git directory as the files as you did. When i go to compile the code the arduino IDE says "epd1in54b-demo:28:23: error: epd1in54c.h: No such file or directory" I see you are on a mac here, is there any other tricks to get this working? I can only get one example working for this display but it just changes between bitmap images and I am after the text like you are doing. Any help for simple text sketch on PC would be awesome!!
