If you copied exactly to a T, nothing should have came apart, perhaps it’s the foam brand or foam type that you used. Or maybe the amount of glue you used. If you use contact cement it is really strong and should not come undone unless you physically pull it apart

We used more or less a 3 meters by 1,5 meter piece of 3mm EVA and a similar amount of the 10mm EVA as well.
