Making BRAZILIAN LEMONADE 🇧🇷 (Limonada Suíca) For The FIRST TIME ✶ Thirsty Thursday 07

- Obrigada and things of that nature! Brazilian lemonade aka limeade aka Swiss lemonade aka limeade. I DON'T CARE IT'S GOSTOSO!
✹Ingredients✹
3 limes
3 cups water
1/2 a can sweetened condensed milk (about 7 oz)
ice
✹Instructions✹
Cut both ends off each lime and cut into quarters.
Slice the white membrane in the center of each quarter wedge and discard.
To a blender, add the limes and water.
Pulse until the limes are chopped up. Do not blend until smooth.
Strain into container, multiple times if necessary.
Add the liquid back into the blender. Add sweetened condensed milk, ice, and blend to desired consistency.
Makes about 3 cups, 3-4 servings. This gets bitter the longer it sits - drink immediately and don't save it overnight.

I just made this tonight and you're right it does taste like a key lime pie, it's sooo GOOD!! I used 4 limes instead of 3 so I used the whole can of sweetened condensed milk. When I sampled it, I thought the milk was overpowering the lime, but after letting it sit in the fridge and trying more, I noticed the lime flavor coming through. Have to remember to get ice next time so I can drink it right away cause it was warm.

Nestle and Eagle (Borden?) brand were like the only companies to make canned sweetened condensed milk at one point. Nestle is Swiss. Nestle’s version was marketed more in Brazil.
Ohh, this looks interesting! Absolutely not the same, but Sonic currently has this drink that's a mix of lemonade and soft-serve vanilla ice cream. I lazily tried to recreate it with making lemonade and then just plopping it into a cup with from French vanilla ice cream. It did not work 😂. Probably because I wasn't using the right type of vanilla ice cream and it definitely wasn't soft-serve.
The drink you made here, especially if frozen for a bit, might get closer to that other drink. Key lime pie in drink form sounds amazing.
