Real treasures! I can't imagine how the owner felt when he lost his drone! I'm only flying a Mini 2 and I already went crazy when I lost it for a while. Imagine him/her losing a drone that expensive!
in the video prior some rafters told him at the end of the video that some guy crashed him drone in the water. he said he had to come back and see if he could find it, and he did 🏅😮

You absolutely need to have Chris with you next time. To be able to give us a view of where you are in the water from above would give us an awesome perspective of your dives. I can't wait to see you with a drone angle.
Jake,
From now on take a large tote with you for the times you might find a drone. Drones, especially DJI drones are built pretty tuff when it comes to water immersion. They can sometimes be brought back to life if they are cleaned out and dried properly.
If you find one, keep it packed in the river water until you exhaust the possibility of finding the owner. DO NOT LET IT DRY OUT!!
Take them straight out of the river water, and flush out with tap water to the best of your ability, then pack the whole thing in rice for about a week or so. You might get lucky.
Always good to return drones, a lot of drone insurance plans cover water damage but require you to have the drone to send back.

This is a $1975 - $2150 USD value Drone. It is also missing it's gymbal camera which costs $750 US to replace. Very expensive crash.

Thats awesome helping him out! I found a dji drone in the indian river one night gigging flounder. It was the weekend after the boat reggata races, so when i saw the gopro i thought it would have some good footage. The gopro wasn't in a water proof case so it was toast. Cool of you to help him out!

Hey Dallmyd, I crashed my drone into a small dam, it had my GoPro hero 4 attached to it so I lost the drone and the GoPro. I’m from Australia so I probably can’t get you to physically help but do you have any suggestions to get it out. It is nearing the end of winter here so the dam is very cold. So do you have any suggestions to get it out and how do you personally deal with the really cold water. Love your channel, keep it up. All replies will be appreciated.

If you know exactly where it went in I'd try a big cast net. Also you could get a dive suit made for cold water. But if your gonna get a dive suit might as well get some goggles and free dive.

If there’s one reason to learn to scuba dive it’s for the free shit. But I am genuinely pleased to see him clearing up other peoples trash even though he shouldn’t have to. Whenever I go course fishing I collect whatever bits of line and rubbish I find. It harms the fish and other wildlife and as a fisherman it’s acting against your own interests to leave it in the water or in the bank, dead fish can’t be caught.
So basically you don't want the fish to get harm so that you can kill them yourself?

I'm convinced you just drop stuff in and film yourself finding it. Stuff you find is in really good condition stuff gets pulled down river if it falls in. The luck you have is unrealistic on finding stuff

Usually what destroys electronics under water is when there is battery power conducting through exposed circuits and the water is salty causing rapid corrosion. Connectors and PCB traces can often be restored if they got corroded. And especially if the water is salty, it's important to get the electronics cleaned with a lot of distilled water asap and then dry it completely before adding power to it again.
