Noah Lyles broke his tie with Usain Bolt for the record number of times breaking 20 seconds in a wind-legal 200m.Letsile Tebogo
Lyles, the third-fastest man in history at the distance, did it for the 35th time on Sunday by prevailing in 19.47, the 10th-best time in history, at a Diamond League meet in London.
He edged Letsile Tebogo of Botswana by three hundredths. Tebogo, 20, broke Namibian Frankie Fredericks’ African record set in taking silver behind Michael Johnson at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Zharnel Hughes, third in 19.73, broke a 29-year-old British record, one month after breaking a 30-year-old British 100m record.
Next month, Lyles can join Bolt and Allyson Felix as the only sprinters to win three consecutive world 200m titles. Bolt won four in a row.

Tebogo is the real deal, relaxed, a well oiled machine, top level endurance, insane top speed( sustained). Lyles is a beast of course but to claim he can beat Usain's record is a stretch. Knighton and Tebogo have the potential to disappoint Lyles any day.

Well done to all the sprinters!! First to Lyles that keeps on winning and showing that he is in great shape and a potential Gold medal winner at the WCH. Second what can we say about Tebogo? What a freaking young talent! Incredible. His last 50 meters were insane covering the ground and overtaking Hughes like nothing and not to mentioned was dangerously closing in on the man himself Lyles. Lyles just won by a small margin of 0.03 seconds. Whooo can't wait to see him up against Knighton at the WCH. And 3rd well done to Hughes for breaking the 30 year old record of Regis. So now he has both 100m and 200m British National Records. Crazy to think that it took 30 years for anyone to break those records and the amazing thing is that it was done by the same sprinter. Spectacular race indeed and it's warming us up to what will follow at the WCH in about a months time!! Can't wait. !!!!
