Fun thing about the sushi restaurant where I work is that it's owned and operated almost entirely by Chinese people but the customers can't tell the difference
Don't know where are you but it's pretty much the same in Spain and germany, 90% of Japanese restaurants are run by Chinese, although I must say one really can appreciate the difference in food and people.
Also real Japanese restaurants are full of weaboos
Here in New Zealand, most of the sushi places are run by Koreans.
Most Italian restaurants here are run by Greeks.
I used to work in a Japanese restaurant in Layton, Utah and it was owned by a Chinese couple too. 😂

That accent thing actually happens. When two speakers of two different languages try to communicate in a third language, like a Chinese and a Japanese man speaking English; it's really difficult to understand each other if they don't know how to pronounce correctly. One makes completely different mistakes from the other. I say ir from experience.
I once read something about this, that in the world English is mostly used by non-native speakers. So Russian/Japanese business might be done in English, such as it is. I have often wondered what that sounds like! "BASIC ENGLISH" was invented just to deal with this situation, but I don't think that's what people are using.
@@leonardpearlman4017 Yeah, English is used as an intermediate language. I myself, as a Spanish speaker, have had conversations with Dutch speakers and we use English. In business it's probably gonna be very formal, though. They're most likely not gonna go with basics. XD
