I have heard interesting theory that Xal'atath is fallen naaru or even the void god evolved from fallen naaru. Several aspects are confirming this theory, her runes, her overall "look" reminding naaru shape (even with two purple orbs reminding fallen naaru eyes), she calls naaru her brethren that lost their path... It is also known that Void Gods are evil creatures of the Void and capable of destroying entire planets if left unchecked, and as Xal'atath claims that Azeroth is hers, by consuming its soul she can be much more powerful than Dimensius and probably one of the most powerful entities in entire Warcraft universe.
You don't seem to know hat the term "plot armor" means. Plot armor is, when a random dude with no special powers is hit ba a rocket but gets out unharmed for absolutely no reason, not when a higher being with immense powers plus an immensly powerful artifact in its hands can tank some magic blast, that may be strong enough for a dreadlord, but those were nevert shown as being especially resilient.
Illidan is likely Sargeras' little B at this point... Still don't get, why he stayed there. Sure, sure, hunter, hunt, whatever, but he can do shit against a god (it needed the WHOLE Pantheon to pull Sargeras back) so it would be more about that the other gods help him or whatever, but he's clearly not the one needed at that point.

I dont like it either, but it is the current cannon.) In this case, we gotta remember that Xal is an Old God herself. AND she has the DarkHeart with the essence of Galakrond and other Old Gods. No way Khadgar could defeat her by himself.

What is "tearing down" about not simply letting him roflstomp someone who overal by existence should be superior anyway. Mortals are mortals. In the end without serving other powers, none of them is really on the level to have any chance against even the higer servants of cosmic forces. Without Xal'athal, there wouldn't even have been any chance to just REACH N'Zoth for example. And that was just 'her' dagger form. If some mortal mage could just easily blast her into oblivion, that would just make her a non-threat.
The thing with the void is it absorbs everything including light itself. It’s entropy. Channeling that into the dark heart you have an artifact that on a cosmic scale can literally absorb the energy of anything to redirect it, or destroy it. Xal isn’t pure force like things we have fought before, she is using everything around her, even us, to get stronger by the day. We can’t help ourselves fighting her, and it just makes it worse. She 100% has our flaws and is using them to win. Patient that one…

The entropy translate quite well into low energy and she seem quite powerful. Void is completly empy something, nothingness would suffice. I don't think it applies to WoW void tho. That said we have the power of subscription, I would like to see her abosrb that!
So that cinematic does look like it's straight up DBZ. Full power blast, run out of energy while looking at smoke, zoom in on Saiyan's face to show their eyes go wide, then transition to the villain coming out of the smoke entirely unharmed. I don't like to make the comparison, but it does match it almost step for step
He did that before in his Harbinger cinematic, when a dreadlords tried to tempt him into becoming a new Guardian and being corrupted by that power just like Medivh. It's simlpy a full out attack of arcane magic, that's also the reason why he breaks down afterwards.
When you got someonme staying there with an artifact, that can clearly just absorb gigantic amounts of magical energy, maybe blasting them with magical energy isn't the best option.

Actually I can see it if the injury is left too long without treatment, not everyone has access to magic healers. Or even if they do, the healers them selves don't have limitless mana, or can recover both health and mana just by eating...

Well, Sylvanas was empowered by a God of Death, while Bolvar was a badly revived mortal Paladin who sereved as a hat stand, since he constantly fought the Helmet to not be corrupted by it. It's ZERO surprise that Sylvanas stomped him. Bolvar didn't even have Frostmourne, what was the actual main power of Arthas. The Helmet is good for controlling undead, but Arthas got most of his power from all the souls he had absorbed with Frostmourne. That's why he is defeated when the Light destroyed the blade after just one shotting the champions of the attacking army a minute before that. If the Helmet would have been the main power source, this wouldn't have worked.
Bolvar was pretty much a hat stand while Sylvanas was even more powerful than him without being empowered by a god. A Lich King without a Mourneblade isn't such a big deal anymore - the destruction of Frostmourne was the way Arthas was defeated. He still ot the Helmet, buit without the blade this was without meaning. And Bolvar does not even dare to use the power of the Helmet, since he feels how it starts to corrupt him. It's ZERO surprise, that he loses.

This "power" metric is childsh. They have different spells and counterspells. We need to avoid observe WoW as a dragon- Ball-Who-send-the most-shine-beam is powerfull. Her power is knowldege, a constructive scheme and not an anime power.
I've said it before, but I don't think deathwing made the dark heart. They never actually said it. I think it's a leftover from the black empire that deathwing found and used at a template for his (less powerfull) dragonsoul
The real answer is The Worf Effect. If you want The Big Bad to look scary, first thing you do is have them show up and beat up the strongest character in the room. At the beginning of any story arc The Big Bad will always be strong enough to at least do that. It's kinda funny that the first thing that Khadgar did was cast Comet Azur on the boss like a lazy Elden Ring player and then freak out because it didn't one-shot her. I wonder if that was the animator's subtle dig at Int build players having no skill.

Khadgar is the freaking guardian but let's be honest here, he's using conventional magic, titanic arcane/draconic magic against the wielder of a dragon soul. Khadgar is the worst pick for this fight. He's trying to fight a gigantic forest fire by throwing smaller fires at it. And Xal knew that. I don't think Xal is empowered by a 3rd party... she possesses that power, thanks to us. She is powering up to challenge the freaking gods or become one herself, like Elune, "that upstart goddess".

That was just Medivh situation cuz Sargeras attempted to control Aedwynn and when she expelled him, some of his essence latched on to her. When she got pregnant with Medivh, Sargeras' essence went into the boy and then dominated him, kept him specifically under his influence. The Guardian role has nothing to with it. Its just a vessel for the Kirin Tor top wizards to transfer power so the Guardian can defend the world.

The only way this could make sense is that circles of Xal'atath above her shoulders are some wormholes type of things like how Metyr, has on her in Elden Ring, her bring the daughter of Greater Will, an Outer God in the Elden Ring universe and Xal'atath use them to transport the beam of Khadgar and use it to power something...

So again, if she has a Void thingy on her shoulders and somehow that is how she escaped the Khadgar shooting that beam of magic, it should be 2 Wormholes...

The power of Xal'athat was already shown when even in her dagger form 'she' was able to cut into N'Zoth's body, something no one else could have done (well, no other mortal or dragon or alike). And that was just the dagger form. So the idea, that 'she' is weak enough to just be one shot by a mortal mage, no matter how powerful, is pretty absurd.
Galakronds essance, Dalarans arcane energies, I wonder what she's after next. I'm not sure if the Nightwell has fully faded away yet, and there's still the second well of eternity under Nordrassil. I'm gonna guess the Sunwell is her final goal since it's a key part of Midnight.
Khadgar is the de- facto Guardian. He wields Atiesh and is the most powerful mage in existence. But he doesn't hold ALL the powers of the Guardian, and that's because he CHOSE not to. Blizzard has learned from the old WoW comics that introducing a new fully- powered guardian into the story causes two kinds of problems. First: It ruins Medivh's final message at the end of Warcraft 3 that Azeroth doesn't need a Guardian. That the heroes of the Alliance and the Horde are its true guardians. Second: Med'an from the comics was so OP, he could literally have stopped every single threat that Azeroth could face. Blizzard wanted to give the players credit for stopping the big bad. Hence why Khadgar relies on the champions of Azeroth instead, even though it's just a game- mechanic. It's also why he sacrificed himsel, to allow Alleria and us to escape. Because we are the TRUE guardians.
So, if the reason she is absorbing magic is because of the dark heart. This confirms my suspicion kinda that: Khadgar is not Dead. He was actually absorbed and turned into void form. Which i predict we will have to fight in a raid probably at some point and save him.

Technically the best villains were those from TBC on through and WoD. They had plans but weren't ultra schemers that had already counted our every move. Could possibly add Legion into that as well. I didn't include Classic because there was no real main bad guy except the murlocs.

Maybe just use Discerson and moved out of the ray. 2. The building was not damaged. ->If the spell itself is the one we know from Krarzan, it also hits the surrounding area. but unintentionally from this it can be concluded that the magic was absorbed. Gene assumes that she used Discerson and went out of the shot, where did the spell hit =? Maybe the Dark Heart that is currently absorbing arcane magic? I think if you can absorb the magic of the tower from the citadel then you can absorb the magic that was fired directly at it or do you think that's too far away. 3.it indicates a possible vulnerability. To start the attack, use dispersion. but why when you can just step aside? ->Maybe because the artifact was still on top and she still had to turn it towards the beam
I have to wonder, where is the Blade of the Black Empire. Perhaps we cannot fight her... but we could contain her again. The blade was never intended to expel energy, its designed to seal it away.
Saurfang ist a normal mortal without ANY powers, he's just a good warrior. Sylvans is: a) MUCH older than him, was a Ranger general for likely longer than he actually lived b) became a Banshee (something you actually could hardly beat at all without magic to begin with) c) led the Forsake and later the Horde for equite some time, constantly improving her skills and especially d) was empowered by a LITERAL GOD OF DEATH. The idea, that he could beat her, is just plane absurd. Even Thrall knew that - and that without knowing about D. He won by making her shout out what she thinks about the Horde, that was his victory. Overal he got the death he always wanted.

I have 2 theories that I think will be of internet to you. First, I think that the wow universe is not mate of 6 cosmic forces but of 3 sets of bonded pairs (think ionic bonding from science) with a negative and positive polarity. I think flip side of the same coin is a bad analogy because both sides of a coin are the same thing; but think of it like a black hole and white hole from science or a worm hole or ever a figure 8 or infinity symbol with each side being distinct and separate but inextricably linked. This allows entities to move from one to the other. This give you life and death, order and disorder, and light and void. Entities are able to move between the two that are linked. So sargarus became a “titan” of disorder. The connection between the shadowlands and life. And the changing of Naaru or the void crystal. Changes always happen along these bonded pair lines. Second. This is what we will see over this expansion. The blood of the old gods is void incarnate having mixed with life and decay giving it the solidity needed to exist in the universe. Xalatath as the harbinger is trying to bring void into the physical world. We will go to nerubia to try and stop her and will learn about the blood and it’s power but will be too late to stop her. But we will stop her from getting more from that location. What we won’t know is that the goblins have been working with her and harvesting sarintie and other forms of old god blood - they have mastered this as they have mastered azerite retrieval. We will go to the goblin city to stop them but again we will be too late. This is when BAM. We find out that Azeroth isn’t even her short term plan, that she was gathering this blood the change the tides of the void battle on k’aresh. We will go there to stop her and side with the elementals, but it will be to late and the battle between arcane order and void shadow will be lost… and k’aresh world souls will be born a void “Titan” which will open the gates for the void at Azeroth. I think the last boss of the ethereal raid will be k’aresh and we will loose and get ported out of there as the world soul is born and made manifest. Midnight will be us fighting this void Titan and the void incursion losing until the titans show up. Last, I think that the shadowlands line where they are talking about the banished one, which at the time seemed like the jailer was actually talking about either xal or her void lord. This is what the jailer was trying to stop.

Meh. My view of this trailer was Khadgar fighting plot armour. It's a intro movie to show how specially powerful she is for an intro video. It's not a realistic view of a real fight. She can tank a hit that would normally annihilate a boss. It's a "Oh. Look how hard she is" video. There's nothing to support this in the lore.
If watching dragon ball has taught me one thing its that if you fire your most powerful attack and your opponent makes no attempt to avoid it then just run lol
Simple answer: Xal is an old god. Khadgar being the most badass ArchMage is still human. Not even a Guardian! No way he could go up against an Old God alone and win. Remember Aegwynn was the Guardian and barely could defeat the Avatar of Sargeras in the olden days. We defeated Nzoth using the Heart of Azeroth. She also has the Dark Heat, which abosorbed the essence and power of Galakrond and probably other Old God essences too.

An actual fight would have been more interesting. It doesn't neuter one character and makes the other character more realistic. If she's that powerful already, why is she waiting to hatch her scheme? Just go destroy the main cities of Azeroth and Eastern Kingdoms. Ravish the land til she can sit back and have no resistance as she lets her plans unfold
3:44 I’m surprised that blizzard is finally acknowledging just how dangerous the players (as were not just a single character, from my guestamtions ied say we are a group of about 22 ish players from the different races of Azeroth, I choose 22 back in legion when I worked it out looking at the lore and skillets of all classes and specks and trying to mix and match it to it makes sense and is the lowest number possible like how there are 2 champions of Azeroth that are Druids, 1 to cover the cat and bear aka the physical and 1 to cover tree and boomkin aka magic focused, other classes like the mage I think I collapsed into a single player to cover all 3 specs as it just mead sense because of the overlap in skills or the priest were it’s impossible for one player to be all three specs as holy and shadow are diametrically opposed and as discipline also uses shadow it think I had discipline and shadow been the same player while holy is a second, 22 also lets you cover the idea of raids without turning it into an army by having it as 40 champions as I really don’t think that any force in the galaxy could withstand 40 champions of Azeroth charging at it 😂) are for the longest time it was seen as the big character doing the hero stuff and we were just the assistance but really while the hero’s are powerful it was the players that did all the heavy lifting, we killed The Lichking we killed deathwing, it was the players that stoped so meny minor threats that could have toppled nations like the defies brotherhood we saved Thrall back in the past heck we even saved medive, it’s no wonder that Xal’atath is going around us even when we should be beaten we have this annoying habit of pulling out the win so the best way to beat us is to not fight us!

The thing with the void is it absorbs everything including light itself. It’s entropy. Channeling that into the dark heart you have an artifact that on a cosmic scale can literally absorb the energy of anything to redirect it, or destroy it. Xal isn’t pure force like things we have fought before, she is using everything around her, even us, to get stronger by the day. We can’t help ourselves fighting her, and it just makes it worse. She 100% has our flaws and is using them to win. Patient that one…

The entropy translate quite well into low energy and she seem quite powerful. Void is completly empy something, nothingness would suffice. I don't think it applies to WoW void tho. That said we have the power of subscription, I would like to see her abosrb that!

So that cinematic does look like it's straight up DBZ. Full power blast, run out of energy while looking at smoke, zoom in on Saiyan's face to show their eyes go wide, then transition to the villain coming out of the smoke entirely unharmed. He did that before in his Harbinger cinematic, when a dreadlords tried to tempt him into becoming a new Guardian and being corrupted by that power just like Medivh.
It's simlpy a full out attack of arcane magic, that's also the reason why he breaks down afterwards.
When you got someonme staying there with an artifact, that can clearly just absorb gigantic amounts of magical energy, maybe blasting them with magical energy isn't the best option.

Well, Sylvanas was empowered by a God of Death, while Bolvar was a badly revived mortal Paladin who sereved as a hat stand, since he constantly fought the Helmet to not be corrupted by it.
It's ZERO surprise that Sylvanas stomped him.
Bolvar didn't even have Frostmourne, what was the actual main power of Arthas. The Helmet is good for controlling undead, but Arthas got most of his power from all the souls he had absorbed with Frostmourne. That's why he is defeated when the Light destroyed the blade after just one shotting the champions of the attacking army a minute before that.
If the Helmet would have been the main power source, this wouldn't have worked.
Khadgar may need to reconsider the guardian title and have them make him a new empowered Guardian of Tirisfal

Bolvar was pretty much a hat stand while Sylvanas was even more powerful than him without being empowered by a god.
A Lich King without a Mourneblade isn't such a big deal anymore - the destruction of Frostmourne was the way Arthas was defeated. He still ot the Helmet, buit without the blade this was without meaning. And Bolvar does not even dare to use the power of the Helmet, since he feels how it starts to corrupt him. It's ZERO surprise, that he loses.

I've said it before, but I don't think deathwing made the dark heart. They never actually said it. I think it's a leftover from the black empire that deathwing found and used at a template for his (less powerfull) dragonsoul
The real answer is The Worf Effect. If you want The Big Bad to look scary, first thing you do is have them show up and beat up the strongest character in the room. At the beginning of any story arc The Big Bad will always be strong enough to at least do that.
It's kinda funny that the first thing that Khadgar did was cast Comet Azur on the boss like a lazy Elden Ring player and then freak out because it didn't one-shot her. I wonder if that was the animator's subtle dig at Int build players having no skill.

I don't think Xal is empowered by a 3rd party... she possesses that power, thanks to us. She is powering up to challenge the freaking gods or become one herself, like Elune, "that upstart goddess".

That was just Medivh situation cuz Sargeras attempted to control Aedwynn and when she expelled him, some of his essence latched on to her. When she got pregnant with Medivh, Sargeras' essence went into the boy and then dominated him, kept him specifically under his influence. The Guardian role has nothing to with it. Its just a vessel for the Kirin Tor top wizards to transfer power so the Guardian can defend the world.

The only way this could make sense is that circles of Xal'atath above her shoulders are some wormholes type of things like how Metyr, has on her in Elden Ring, her bring the daughter of Greater Will, an Outer God in the Elden Ring universe and Xal'atath use them to transport the beam of Khadgar and use it to power something...
Or maybe they are just black holes, like the Eternal Darkness sorcery which absorbs any spell.

The power of Xal'athat was already shown when even in her dagger form 'she' was able to cut into N'Zoth's body, something no one else could have done (well, no other mortal or dragon or alike). And that was just the dagger form.
So the idea, that 'she' is weak enough to just be one shot by a mortal mage, no matter how powerful, is pretty absurd.
Galakronds essance, Dalarans arcane energies, I wonder what she's after next. I'm not sure if the Nightwell has fully faded away yet, and there's still the second well of eternity under Nordrassil. I'm gonna guess the Sunwell is her final goal since it's a key part of Midnight.
Khadgar is the de- facto Guardian. He wields Atiesh and is the most powerful mage in existence. But he doesn't hold ALL the powers of the Guardian, and that's because he CHOSE not to. Blizzard has learned from the old WoW comics that introducing a new fully- powered guardian into the story causes two kinds of problems.
First: It ruins Medivh's final message at the end of Warcraft 3 that Azeroth doesn't need a Guardian. That the heroes of the Alliance and the Horde are its true guardians.
Second: Med'an from the comics was so OP, he could literally have stopped every single threat that Azeroth could face. Blizzard wanted to give the players credit for stopping the big bad.
Hence why Khadgar relies on the champions of Azeroth instead, even though it's just a game- mechanic.
It's also why he sacrificed himsel, to allow Alleria and us to escape. Because we are the TRUE guardians.

Technically the best villains were those from TBC on through and WoD. They had plans but weren't ultra schemers that had already counted our every move. Could possibly add Legion into that as well. I didn't include Classic because there was no real main bad guy except the murlocs.

Maybe the Dark Heart that is currently absorbing arcane magic? I think if you can absorb the magic of the tower from the citadel then you can absorb the magic that was fired directly at it or do you think that's too far away.

d) was empowered by a LITERAL GOD OF DEATH.
The idea, that he could beat her, is just plane absurd. Even Thrall knew that - and that without knowing about D.

I have 2 theories that I think will be of internet to you.
First, I think that the wow universe is not mate of 6 cosmic forces but of 3 sets of bonded pairs (think ionic bonding from science) with a negative and positive polarity. I think flip side of the same coin is a bad analogy because both sides of a coin are the same thing; but think of it like a black hole and white hole from science or a worm hole or ever a figure 8 or infinity symbol with each side being distinct and separate but inextricably linked. This allows entities to move from one to the other. This give you life and death, order and disorder, and light and void. Entities are able to move between the two that are linked. So sargarus became a “titan” of disorder. The connection between the shadowlands and life. And the changing of Naaru or the void crystal. Changes always happen along these bonded pair lines.
Second. This is what we will see over this expansion. The blood of the old gods is void incarnate having mixed with life and decay giving it the solidity needed to exist in the universe. Xalatath as the harbinger is trying to bring void into the physical world. We will go to nerubia to try and stop her and will learn about the blood and it’s power but will be too late to stop her. But we will stop her from getting more from that location. What we won’t know is that the goblins have been working with her and harvesting sarintie and other forms of old god blood - they have mastered this as they have mastered azerite retrieval. We will go to the goblin city to stop them but again we will be too late.
This is when BAM. We find out that Azeroth isn’t even her short term plan, that she was gathering this blood the change the tides of the void battle on k’aresh. We will go there to stop her and side with the elementals, but it will be to late and the battle between arcane order and void shadow will be lost… and k’aresh world souls will be born a void “Titan” which will open the gates for the void at Azeroth. I think the last boss of the ethereal raid will be k’aresh and we will loose and get ported out of there as the world soul is born and made manifest. Midnight will be us fighting this void Titan and the void incursion losing until the titans show up.
Last, I think that the shadowlands line where they are talking about the banished one, which at the time seemed like the jailer was actually talking about either xal or her void lord. This is what the jailer was trying to stop.
Come on dude. Don't get me wrong, Khadgar is powerful, but Xal'atath is an incredibly ancient being wielding a magic absorbing artifact with the power of arguably the strongest dragon to ever live and most likely further empowered by Dimensius. Khadgar really was outclassed big time here

Meh. My view of this trailer was Khadgar fighting plot armour. It's a intro movie to show how specially powerful she is for an intro video. It's not a realistic view of a real fight. She can tank a hit that would normally annihilate a boss. It's a "Oh. Look how hard she is" video. There's nothing to support this in the lore.

Simple answer: Xal is an old god. Khadgar being the most badass ArchMage is still human. Not even a Guardian! No way he could go up against an Old God alone and win. Remember Aegwynn was the Guardian and barely could defeat the Avatar of Sargeras in the olden days. We defeated Nzoth using the Heart of Azeroth. She also has the Dark Heat, which abosorbed the essence and power of Galakrond and probably other Old God essences too.
Xal'atath is 100% not an Old God this was confirmed in the beta.

3:44 I’m surprised that blizzard is finally acknowledging just how dangerous the players (as were not just a single character, from my guestamtions ied say we are a group of about 22 ish players from the different races of Azeroth, I choose 22 back in legion when I worked it out looking at the lore and skillets of all classes and specks and trying to mix and match it to it makes sense and is the lowest number possible like how there are 2 champions of Azeroth that are Druids, 1 to cover the cat and bear aka the physical and 1 to cover tree and boomkin aka magic focused, other classes like the mage I think I collapsed into a single player to cover all 3 specs as it just mead sense because of the overlap in skills or the priest were it’s impossible for one player to be all three specs as holy and shadow are diametrically opposed and as discipline also uses shadow it think I had discipline and shadow been the same player while holy is a second, 22 also lets you cover the idea of raids without turning it into an army by having it as 40 champions as I really don’t think that any force in the galaxy could withstand 40 champions of Azeroth charging at it 😂) are for the longest time it was seen as the big character doing the hero stuff and we were just the assistance but really while the hero’s are powerful it was the players that did all the heavy lifting, we killed The Lichking we killed deathwing, it was the players that stoped so meny minor threats that could have toppled nations like the defies brotherhood we saved Thrall back in the past heck we even saved medive, it’s no wonder that Xal’atath is going around us even when we should be beaten we have this annoying habit of pulling out the win so the best way to beat us is to not fight us!
