    I have a 10 year old Lowepro camera backpack. It looks like brand new even though it sees heavy use - camping, cycling, hiking etc. Not one thread has popped and I have NOT been gentle with it. 10/10 Would purchase again.

    Hey Matt, great video! I really like the bagpack. May I ask you two questions: How tall are you? And: What are your experiences in terms of the comfort of those shoulder straps when carrying it for long distances (hiking and stuff)? From here they look a bit thinner than straps from other bags. Thx in advance!

    Nice review! I've found that if you're running with DSLRs with no battery grips, you could easily get by with the Pro Tactic 350 AW. It weighs less and not as deep.

    Hi, just a short question: Do the sideaccesspoints also take cameras with batterygrips? the top one doesn't seem to make problems. I have two Nikon D750s and a Nikon D7200. All three of them with batterygrips...

      Just bought one today and based on all the reviews I did not bother taking a canon 1dx or 5d 4 with grip to the store. I am a bit disappointed that they are indeed a very tight fit though the portal. the bags curved edges means that you have to insert you camera deep into the bag as the curved edges just do not have the height the accommodate a full height camera with ease. Don't even think about putting wide angle lens in this bag with hoods but the same applies to any bag without loosing a lot of real estate. That said a bit of imagination solves lots of problems in configuring the partitions and the pro's out way the con's.

    You've got your mic pointing down at the desktop or up at the ceiling. The end that's pointing slightly upwards towards your body is actually the top of the mic, not the front. That's why you're picking up more room sound than you should be. Aim the front where you've got the top aimed and you'll get a lot more direct sound. :)

      Prashant Bhatnagar I'm considering to get this bag, but definitely those side accesses are not safe at all, considering pickpockets.... I guess the only way to reduce the risk would be to arrange the inside pudding in a way that when you open those side zippers there nothing but the pudding itself.

    funny I have the old 2005 version and miss the day pack that was attached and very light great for jacket. as ex soldier and the old thick waist belt held weight off shoulders, I hope that pack od accessories is standard as the nice box tripod centre one gone and the buggy strips that help any place on tripods or over the side long pockets but they where not padded well. no la[top on old one yet holds 1dx mk2 plus if needed my primes and 1DSx with 70-200 f2.8 attached with 5D and grip attached with 24-70 2.8 L at other end so middle weight and set low not top heavy which as being ex infantry is better balance so not so sure the active padding is more of a show not go sort of thing and the old version belt was thick and strong this is more future looking but I m thinking is it a good design as you did fair job at giving example but didn't really hit the vital points more about how many places can open which I worry is that easy to allow camera body to move around as not locked in. the middle chest strap is so old and easy to apply military grade bundgy double strength battle proven. the belt is the let down for me as my back not as great Any more. yet my MacBook Pro 15 be good. so hard when see the new manfrotto yet I still have my lower webbing which all the attachable seem to be able to go on this version as old one they forgot and made everything sideways. not sure lowpro would look after a veteran as manfrotto as I use all there tri pods will offer me a discount with a bonus for having there gear yet I have lots lowpro stuff yet im not sure to ask, as military news had manfrotto. number as they use the tri pods and mono pods for shooting and recon and other??? like the hard top maybe if u showed the smaller version but not smallest for smaller shoots yet take on a small holiday and be stable with few good lenses and 1dx body. Guys what a shame wanted a simple smaller version for day shoots but the 350 tactic no good if your using pro 1DX mk2 or battery grips. What a bummer I’ve had to go to another brand. As years ago almost all lowpro would fit any large pro body. But know it’s only for basic setups. The bag was perfect for a nice walk in the National park with just a few lenses batteries and some gear. Not my full kit as my old truck Aw 2 fits all and as said has the day pack on front. But was let down three low pro packs to look at onstore even the sport version. But you forgot about pro body uses. So looks like have to change my brands. As even my little one lens handle bag 2015 fits 1D and 7D with its battery grip. I can’t understand why you have done this as I was prepared to buy it till owner of store said you shoot all canons sign battery but now Have 1DX mk2 so non will fit the body even with a small lens as not deed enough or would be so tight you would worry. So checked 3 of yours but unless the largest version. No good. Why punish pros as I wanted a good smaller pack plus your extra stuff. But walked out with another brand. Which I was not really that happy. I don’t like or Trust clip side acsess as easy to steal. Or fall but zipper ok. Yet even this shows all no battery grips or pro cameras. It would been fantastic size. But why do this. As I don’t want to take 7/8 lenses on a small walk as I have back problems. Do my bigpsck is for short walls from car to area. Yet your smaller ltr are great so I could buy 3 packs and be happy as I trust lowpro. One unhappy Australian canon user with a 15inch MacBook. If you change and bring back deep packs. And nice thick belts. Please let me know as o will not be even going to your site anymore as the videos are of no use as all no battery or grips or pro cameras. Yet I where the brand to goto always for so many yrs. but lost a long term customer. I’d love one sent if you change and I’d even do a utube and retract snd let others know. As I’m not only one that is moving for there small setup packs. But prob only to make a issue. As ex soldier so packs I no about packs. Your old belts where the best thick weight holding. Now your backpads great. No on video says 1-2 pro cameras. Pro cameras are flagship. A 5D is a pro but not a real pro as you know film days a pro nikon or canon was a large battery and full fitted camera. Or will u count the smaller mirrorkess as a pro name. Just upset as everyvideo finished saying a 1-2 pro cameras. But misleading. Yet I spent $500 on a brand still not happy with. Like to see reply. 🇦🇺😎🤯⁉️

    Hey Matt, Is this carry-on compatible for airports?, it doesn´t look that big on the video but the external dimensions on the webpage says it´s actually bigger than my carry-on luggage which last time I measured it at the airport barely fitted on the airport carry-ons sizers, I wouldn´t want a surprise at the airport saying I need to check it because I usually travel with another Targus backpack for my 17-inch laptop and other stuff, please let me know, great detailed review

    Since you mentioned Mindshift, how does this compare to the Mindshift Gear Rotation 180 Pro?

    • @ArtoftheImage
      @ArtoftheImage  8 лет назад

      +cavedroid Pretty comparable quality wise. I like them both.

    • @cavedroid
      @cavedroid 8 лет назад

      +ArtoftheImage I had a chance to try them both and even though the Rotation 180 Pro seemed like my dream bag for quite some time and I was about to purchase one, but with just a few minutes inspecting the waist pouch size made me decide on the Pro Tactic 450 instead. The way I figure it, having 4 access points on the bag is is just as good as having the rotating waist pack. I felt the waist pack was a bit too small for what I wanted to be able to put in it and realized that I would still need to turn the bag around to get certain longer lens and equipment anyway so though it is a brilliant design I could spend half as much and get the Loweprow which I did and am very happy. Having side access is on par with the rotating pouch access to me. I may one day still get the Mindshift because it is a top quality hiking bag as well but for now the Lowepro Protactic 450 seems to be the most versatile for the money ($190 vs. $480). Thanks again for your great review.

  • @Worldwave

    Great bag, but laptop-owning buyers beware, luckily I could test this at the store before I got it, but the laptop chamber is very thin, it's designed for 15 inch macbooks, or ultrabooks. A standard sized 15 inch laptop will NOT fit in there. It IS padded very nicely though, with tough plastic on the outside and soft spongy material on the inside.
    People considering this bag but fearing the limited organization: This bag supports MOLLE attachments. I rest my case. The MOLLE-compatible gear you can get for this thing is amazing. It also comes with a bunch of Lowepro MOLLE stuff, a tripod holder, a little zippered pouch and a water bottle pouch with a cord for cinching it down.

    Nice review. Those accessories are not included, right? Can you get strap extensions for the waist? I'm needing a larger bag and this might be the right one. i find selections of bags confusing. So many options and it is hard to get a true measure of the size. We
    don't have camera stores around here. Thanks.

    • @ArtoftheImage
      @ArtoftheImage  8 лет назад

      +Anthony Martin Yes, the accessories are included! (not the camera gear of course :-)
      Not sure if you can get waist strap extensions, but the straps do pull out to quite a good length.
      I REALLY like this bag. It's well made, well designed, and the perfect size for a larger (but not TOO big) backpack.
