This is probably one of the most important videos you've done. With all of the negative coverage lately, we were set to dish out a lot more money to buy our first RV, buy a Brinkley, and hopefully avoid all of the quality issues. We may reconsider. Do more of these.

PDI is the biggest scam of this industry. If it's so great how come most of the RVs will have to go back for warranty work within the first year, some the moment you drive out of the RV dealership. Save your money and hired an independent inspector with no connections to the dealership you are buying from. Do not sign any financial or purchase paperwork, until you are 100% satisfied that all the work has been done. Walk away if needed. This is the ONLY way this industry will take notice.

very impressive buuutttt why customers still have tons of issues when those perfect units came out of PDI ? cuz watching this video looks like everything is perfectly perfect. PDI change to POS when you buy them at dealership.

One of the reasons it stopped me buying from General last year, hidden fees if you are not educated. It was one of many fees including the orientation demo!! Imagine wanting to give a customer a working RV and they know how to use , no wait lets charge them for doing our job as a dealer.

I won’t pay for a PDI. I WILL hire Blue Ox to inspect any rig, new or used. PDI stands for Probably Didn’t Inspect.

Let's see, General RV PID on our 2021 Fleetwood Bounder. Picked it up and drove off, dash AC did not work, bulk over the driver and passenger seats was loose and rattled all the way home, living room slide stops not programmed, water hose connections to water pump were loose and leaked and the driver's side dash had a huge rattle. It took over 6 months the entire season to finally fix all the issues except the driver's side dash had a huge rattle was never fixed. We traded it in on a Newmar from Bish's RV and have had a fantastic experience. SO, our opinion on the General RV PID, total BS.

It would be nice if they actually did what is in this video. I purchased a 2024 Nexus and half the outlets didn’t work , sawdust was all over the inside of the unit. If you are going to charge for this service at least do the work.

My brand new Jayco Greyhawk had a PDI performed on it when I purchased it from camping world. After buying it I hooked up the water hose to the unit and water was spraying into the interior of the bedroom due to the water line cross threaded to the water inlet. The rear a/c did not produce cold air. I had to pay $250 to have it diagnosed and then the unit was replaced under warranty. There is no way they even tested the a/c units or hooked the city water to the unit or they would have seen the obvious problems. Their inspections are a gimmick and are there to make you feel good about your purchase.

It's just an instant profit center. Ridiculous. RV shoppers are like sheep before the slaughter. Run! Run! Run!

Uncle Josh says Bish’s has no “hidden” dealer fees. Is General RV’s PDI part of the “purchase price” or is it a “hidden” dealer fee that customers only find out about when you sit down to sign the contract?

ALWAYS pay for a 3rd party inspection - no matter how new or how expensive your coach is. I bought a brand new DP in 2022 and you'd be amazed how many small things my inspector found AFTER the PDI.

PDI is just another way to screw the customer. The cost of the rv is already outrageous and not worth the price. PDI should be included free of charge if they had any pride in their products. It’s expected when you pay such exorbitant prices .

lol, I bought a Tiffin A Class 2 years ago from the Michigan location. The PDI was a joke, luckily I already knew what to look for and refused to sign until the issues I found were addressed. The employee doing the PDI lacked any knowledge of a RV, he basically showed me how to open the doors and use the TV remotes, lol.

Here's what I want to know and why: Let's say I buy, where can I get serviced at? Since you're broadcasting to at least a national audience, I want to know that if I buy from you, I can get treated right as a customer when it comes to service. Not have to tow to another state, etc. Can you explain how that works? I assume some sort of partner network?

Fortunately the manufacturer is paying for this dog and pony show... RIGHT?? I mean NO manufacturer would charge the customer AGAIN for factory QC!
Just imagine if automobile dealers tried to charge for more than "dealer prep" and a basic detail!
Are people gullible enough not to see the functions this facility is performing are what the MANUFACTURER USED to do... before it left the factory. AND the cost of that QC was absorbed into the MSRP.
THAT'S what transparency is all about. And this video puts on FULL DISPLAY why RV prices continue to be incredibly inflated. EVERYONE is trying to get a chunk of the pie!

  • @craigmcmahan9600

I like the the concept but this should already be being done by both the manufacturer and the dealer. Kinda like putting the wolf in charge of the sheep. What are the consequences if it "passes" and there are issues discovered upon taking possession? Do you get your fee back? I'd still get an independent inspection.

Wow that is an impressive facility. I did not expect this from any RV dealer on this scale. obviously an expensive operation but i can imagine that it saves a ton of money and headache at the sales lot level. Handling these issues before leaving the area that the coach was built makes sense in streamlining and shortening the warranty process. General is doing what the MFG should be doing before they leave the factories.

This General Rv treated my son a law like crap. He had a motor home there to be fixed after one month they had done nothing, after a nother month they still had done nothing. He went to get it. They said they didnt know where it was. My son and law told them I want my keys, They said we dont have them. kMy Son and law then said OK I will give you one more chance, then I call the police. They finally gave him his keys, thlis was the Ocala Fl. Store. If any of you believe these people are really here to help customers, you are very mistaken. By the way, My son and law is an official at a local car dealership. This message is ALL TRUE. I have been shopping for a new RV but I would NEVER set my foot is this store.
