    The RFU brought in the "all schools" campaign bringing Rugby Into mainstream schools in 2015. They funded coaches to work with kids from state schools. The RFU needs to go back and fund state schools to create more interest in Rugby and therefore a better selection of children that want to play professionally.

      It’s hard to disagree with this, state schools need a little help so the RFU can utilise the talent pool

      Cipriani didn’t.
      No real substance over style and the worst defender in the history of Super Rugby whose teammates didn’t want to play with him suggests otherwise.

    Given their previous form and the low expectations expected, this result, especially given being down to 14 men for all but 3 minutes, putting expectations on them now is simply ridiculous. Just be happy they'll make it out of the group stage and perhaps get one round beyond that

    While I have no doubt Shaun Edwards would be a great asset for any side I just find that narrative a bit... like dwelling on what could have been
    John Mitchell did a great job as England defence coach
    He is a bit dismissive of Borthwick as well.
    All in all just make use of we have instead of dwelling over what wed like to have

    I’m not loving this, this guy has wasted his talent and now selling his book by calling out some current England players but as we embark on a World Cup. Hope Danny gets closure one day, he was a maverick player, awesome on his day, loved him at Wasps but nah, sorry Danny not buying it, you were master of your own destiny bud, maybe concentrate on team instead of yourself fella.

    Listened to the entire pod.. What on earth is Danny smoking 😂 even more of a narcasist than I thought. Made me laugh when he felt like he is the victim for the way the Sun portrayed him. Despite selling right to the Sun. Can't be a coincidence all coaches felt he was troublesome.
    Can't question his rugby talent and gave him benefit of the doubt for being misunderstood perhaps but nope. Not a fan

    • @Alex-mj5dv
      @Alex-mj5dv 11 месяцев назад +7

      Absolutely… he was a good player, particularly at club level - very skilled, but not a Finn Russell and nowhere near the control and managed poise of a Dan Carter. He has his chances for England, and different times in his career, and blew them. That’s on him. He’s sounded resentful and bitter now. Part of a team sport is being a team man.. and Cips was never that. Finn has learned to be .. Danny never did.

    • @Powerofmorris84
      @Powerofmorris84 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@Alex-mj5dv We'll never know how good Cipriani could have been, never near the level of Dan Carter, we'll see very few that will reach a similar level. Rugby union doesn't have the coaches that can manage players that don't conform. Basketball had it with Phil Jackson managing Dennis Rodman by working with Michael Jordan, Alex Ferguson was able to manage Cantona and would have probably saved Gazza if he had gone to United. Cipriani is making a very valid point, the RFU needs to reform the coaching system in order to deliver an entertaining product. We need characters that people want to come and see and feel they have a connection with. Owen Farrell has no personality and is atrocious in interviews, we need exciting players who can connect with the general public.

      It's not like former England coach Andy Farrell and current England Coach Kevin Sinfield have a RL background. Plus all the Larder's etc. Have a word with yourself. Also rarely for a coach I don't think he's ever been sacked. Might be wrong, but I think he's always just moved at the end of his contract.

      Edwards won't coach england or many good coaches as its a poisoned chalice; with a old boys rfu that like to control them too much, toxic fans and media that jump on every mistake and turn on them after a couple of bad games and a club system that dominates the international set up making it hard to get the players they need when they need them...English rugby needs a massive change from the top down to encourage innovation, cip might be a narcissistic but he's not always wrong when talking about English rugby.

    As we all know, George Best was troublesome, however it took a good manager to get the best out of him. Football was a winner as a result.
    England would have benefited greatly, had they had a manager who could have managed him to some extent.
    I understand it, he did not grow up with a father to help to guide him. Had he had that privilege, things might well have been different.
