...As the 2nd passenger on laps 3 and 4 (in the silver helmet) - I can confirm this Caterham re-defines rapid and pretty much unbeatable in its class. Its a great product and the sequential box is fantastic on track. No this video is not sped-up, and in fact in real life sitting in the car it feels about twice as fast again as it looks in this clip. Its an amazing vehicle, so much so:- anyone serious about performance cars needs to have at least a passenger ride to re-calibrate what they consider is a "fast road car" these days! If you like a pure driving experience do not splash out on a German GT car until you've tried a 620R (unless of course you can afford both). To those who frequent the motorcycle world: - it feels a bit like being pillion on an S1000RR, except the Caterham has 4 wheels and hardly needs to slow down for corners :)
Lucky you ! I would buy one if I could afford it. Always loved Caterham. True sportscar lovers with BMW and Mercedes (you know : the 500 HP cars) and all the electric help AND all the luxury . . . I don't buy their stories. If they have to shift gears manually, they complain. Oh, there 's one driver I would believe in : Lotus Elise.
I'm a german engineer working for the automotive industrie and guess what? Dream car list: Track (don't know which I like most, cause I sadly have not driven one of them...) - BAC Mono - Radical RXC - Caterham 620R - Radical SR3 SL - Caterham SP/300R Off-Road (there is no choice!) - Land Rover Defender For a daily car I'm driving an old BMW E36 325i Coupé and my next car will be a BMW E36 328i, cause I like old cars much more than the new Playstation-, cellphone-, internet-, electrified-, safety-, only button pushing-cars. To have fun on a track or in the dirt I prefer a car made in England! ;) So for the first step I plan to buy a 485R, cause none of the so called sports cars made in Germany are really sports cars. They are just cars for very rich people, who believe they can drive, when they fast on a straight line (Autobahn). Greets from Germany and many thanks for all the real sports and off-road cars! :D
Klar der neie AMG GT R is ne 7.10 auf der Nordschleife gefahren. Alles keine Sport Autos.
Excellent pov video, this will really help me learn the track so I can better my driving skills @project cars. Thanks, this was very helpful in getting the "real feel" of the track in to the simulator. o/
Love that he stayed out an extra lap on the last session to do the BookaTrack car that thought he was going quickly. Shake of the head as the driver passes says it all.
The fact about the 620R is that you spend most of the time behind other cars waiting for a safe place to overtake.. Because after that it's so fast, it takes no time at all to get to the next car
You are all correct in some way! This girl had come out in the car with me during the morning, she only got 1 lap in the car (there was a long queue of willing victims at that point) and every single corner I got traffic, so couldn't push. This onboard video stint was right at the end of the day, the girl came back and had already said that I could drive really fast. We had a pretty clear track and so I was able to push :-D There are plenty of onboard vids on my channel if you liked this one! Thanks to Gareth for the cool vid and congrats on the number of views!!! :-O
Jon, thanks again for the ride, get in touch if you are ever in the east Kent area...I have a few vehicles you may be interested in kicking the tyres of...inc. Superlight K, JPE and Cosworth BDR. Cheers G
Seriously good throttle control.
I think that's the first vid I've seen of a 620R steering from the front.

+t4d0k Good choice of cars!! I agree, I much prefer cars that let you do the driving!
What about adding a Donkervoort to that list? ;)

What a ride. Thanks for sharing it with those of us who couldn't be there.
this is the only time I've seen a Caterham really getting driven hard. As a kart racer for many years, I really enjoyed watching this
Thanks for sharing the vid. I love Caterhams! can't wait to blackmail my way into the seat of a 620R!

I want to have a go!! done something similar at Silverstone but Brands Hatch is my local and my favourite
Hugging those lines like whoaaa
Looks like quite a car!
Thats my New Dreamcar :)

10:40 lol, so calm.
Anyone else notice the driver go much faster with the female in the car? Show off!
+James Jones probably had more to do with clear track
Looks like he had less traffic and also the tires would have been operating better as they warmed up

14:55 kind of like watching a Spitfire coming up on a BF109... GIVE 'EM THE GUNS!
Which bit... as the video is only 14:23 in length?
14:55???? Video isnt that long...
Oerendhard ! The other cars seeme to search for a place to park their car.
It's a shame you kept pulling off to pit because you never finished a Lap time.
