I was nearing the end of the album and I thought that it was a rather short project for Swans and then this song came out lol. 10/10 song my mind left my body and got transported into the titanic submarine while listening to it.

33:24 This part of the song is beyond a doubt the most horrifying thing I have heard from Swans. It feels like dying. You know you are slipping away so you try and focus on a warm memory (Cloud of Unknowing), but your mind is losing control and no matter how hard you concentrate, the discordance and senility (Leaving Meaning) keeps invading and taking over your thoughts.
Listened to the whole album thing. It was pretty cool. But when this piece of music arrived... It was like waking up and finding yourself in an alternate universe, I was almost scared. Bravo.
just listened to this album for the first time, WOW. amazing work, this song shocked me so much, with the sample of the backing vocals on "it's coming it's real" and all the weird sounds and soundscapes. and Gira's vocal delivery on the last part with that groove, it's all so beautiful.
Staggering work. Art in its purest sense. Can't wait to see them live again in a few weeks. Always a very special event, seeing Swans live. A transcendental experience.

Saw this live at The Troxy this week. Greatest thing, and show, I’ve ever seen and probably will ever see in my life. Until I’m lucky enough to get to see Swans again.
I was there, incredible show. Very different to the 2017 version of the band. That one was all out sonic assaults and transcendence. While Swans is always next-level live, the version of the band I saw at Troxy in 2023 felt like a transitional band. They are preparing a live album and a new studio album, so undoubtedly they will tour in the not-too-distant future again - I expect that Swans will be a new beast entirely.
Absolutely insane. Loved it. Still can't properly put it into words, but I love how some parts just remind me of The Seer title track. Omnious. I love that.

It's insane. The Seer is likely my favorite Swans song and the similarities are very odd or hard to point out but they exist. Both aren't as straightforward as other giants like Bring The Sun or The Glowing Man. Both have an absurdly majestic 3 minute long intro. Both are eerie as FUCK. Both have some of the best drone sections too. I love both songs too much now

Even the intro is similar, but The Seer descends into the abyss like a sunken Lovecraftian empire beneath the ocean. The Beggar Lover (Three) ascends upwards into a new plane of existence, like the afterlife, where fragments of our life’s memories coalesce together. Hence, the various callbacks. I’m sure I’ll find more layers to it as I continue listening. Michael Gira and his damn infinite mind…

EDIT: Listening to The Seer again, at around 3 minutes in it feels to me like you're listening to explorers preparing to take on the center of the Earth, with their journey culminating around 11:40 where they find something truly otherwordly inside - perhaps The Seer itself.
