I have a wheel Horse 416-8 I am going to try adding the regulator as you have. I purchased a low pressure pump but it would still flood the carb while driving over rough areas of my yard or steep inclines. Thank you for putting up your work for everyone!
Hi John. Great video thanks. I know this is an old video. From what I understand the reason for gravity feed to the pump is if the pump is empty it will eventually fail because it over revs/pulsates without gas in the pump. Makes sense. So the gravity feed is to have fuel in the pump when you fire the pump up. I have a V twin Craftsman with a crappy, plastic, vacuum operated pump. I have had an electric fuel pump for a while now. I hesitate to buy a regulator because of the bad reviews they all have. leaking fuel on the engine is not a good thing! The one you have seemed to be the one to use so I am ordering one now. Thanks for the information. you helped me out a lot. John, Florida
I used a 2.5-4 psi pump on my Koehler mv20s ran about 45 minutes then flooded carb. so i dropped float about a 1/8 inch to give it extra buoyancy as thus increasing pressure applied to seat. Now it runs well plenty of gas at all speeds will idle 5 - 10 minuets mows inclines probably to steep for mower have not had another problem since
I used a simple 4 dollar 12v tester to find a wire ANYWHERE that lit my tester only while the key was on...not necessarily at the key.l use a connector that l put on the wire without even cutting a wire! Then put my new fuel pump wire inside that same connector..then you close the "door"on the connector till it snaps

You are more than welcome. I'm glad it helped.

Sir, all you have to do is get an electric fuel pump for1-1-1/2 pounds of pressure, i did mine and it works great.Great Video
That is way too much pressure for my application.
I was thinking on doing this to my Joihn Deere. Happy to see this.

@MrHemi4spd Why? If one uses the correct connector, that is exactly what the connector is designed to be used for.
Great video, good information
Thank you very much. I hope it helps.
You are very right nice video thank you
Ive Converted About 3 Of These To a Electric Fuel Never Had To Use a Regulator in them All 3 Ran Fine
Mikey Dossett what kind of fuel pump did you use?
@@JohnDoesGarage Hep 20-A
i use the Mower 4 or 5 Days not a Issue sense i Installed it
Mikey Dossett did you use any type of fuel pressure regulator?
@@JohnDoesGarage No Sir I Did Not Its Been On My Mower 3 Months Now Runs as good as the Day i Put It On
Excellent video my friend
I see no reason to have gravity fuel to the pump..l really dont
Small pumps like I used here are made to push fuel but they need fuel to be fed to them by gravity.
Weekend Warrior Bare bones addition and do some upgrades yourself
I have made some upgrades and I will cover them once I get them all done.
