Looks great. I have had a Black Sub since 2003 and swapped out the band for a Rubber B in black for several years. I currently just swapped that out for a Rubber B in White, and have received positive feedback. The Rubber B bands fit Rolex watches like they are an OEM part. Thanks for the content.
Thanks Eric for the great content... Do you think this option would work with my new Bruce Wayne? I understand it's a GMT but just wondering... love it on the sub!!
Lol Eric by now you should know that Rolex DONT give us what we want , but the things we DIDN'T know we wanted ! Am in TOTAL agreement with this & great content as always 👏👍👏👍
Looks sweet. I’ve never been able to find anywhere to buy the rubber strap? Also how do you know what size you need without being able to try the options? Is there a size guide? Thanks
Great idea, but on the aftermarket mod you see that gap between the watch and the strap. I like how Rolex has a different case for Oysterflex models of the Daytona and the Sky-Dweller, that fills in that gap, looks so clean.
Nice Eric, looks great! I've done it on a Batman a few years ago and loved it. You can also "borrow" the endlinks so it fits just like a Daytona (not sure what endlinks to which model, might need measuring and trying, but I know it's possible)
Eric I took the titanium Yacht master abd put on it the oyster flex its so light that u 😮 cant belive it any time uwhere it buttoo be onest I took this idea from rolex it self because it was like this introduct to the guy (don’t remember his name) that it was pruduct for his race yacht
I've been rocking the a no date on Everest/Rubber B for 8 years now. It's my everyday banger. Actually prefer aftermarket straps to the Oysterflex. Try a Hulk on white strap! Outrageous summer play... Thanks for the quality content man!
Hi Eric, as soon as I got my 124060 I acquired a Rubber B to replace the Oyster bracelet. The Rubber B, as you mentioned, is almost as well built as the Oysterflex but with a much better and tight fit at the lugs. The black rubber band with a black bezel and a black dial is simply a stunning combination 😎
Eric, great video on the Sub, I use my Sub with the Oysterflex band, since I don’t like the space between the strap and the case, I installed the stainless end links and to be honest, It looks sharp and finish like other model using the band. Keep posting videos!!!!!!!
Hey Eric! I was thinking about the very same thing today . I was wearing my 41 no date sub today and was thinking why Rolex hasn’t made a strap as an alternative . The steel bracelet is awesome however changing things up would be a welcome variety
I've bought more than a few rubber straps from Zealande the past while. Outstanding design. A natural curve in the rubber at the lugs. Closer spacing for the pin on the buckle to get just the right fit. Soft and very comfortable. I'm not a fan of the Rolex clasps, or any type of deployant. I find a thick mass on the underside of the wrist is fine for walking around town, but sit down at the computer and no thanks.
I ended up putting the Rubber B strap back on my Submariner with date after rewatching this video. I put my Tudor Pelagos back on the OEM rubber strap it came with for the 2nd time in several years.
Great video! I doubt any existing Oysterflex will fit the Sub41. Skydweller or any other model with lug width 21mm would fit on the case side but those seem to have smaller widths on the clasp side? Has anyone checked this up in detail?
Eric, Great video and I agree an oyster strap option would be great as long as the end links fill the gaps. What I would really want to see is a submariner on a Jubilee. Like the Tudor BB that recently came out.
The strap added to the Sub is a winner. Brings and even more sporty look and class to this model. I would buy the straps from Rolex if they ever designed it to go with the sub.
Agree. I’d wear the Sub/Date a lot more if it had the Oysterflex- but I’d like the tucked in look of the YM Oysterflex strap. The example you are wearing has too much gap in my opinion.

I’ve been wearing my two tone sub on the rubber strap for a while and it’s my most worn watch. I just got a cheap rubber from eBay and the ends are curved so fits flush around the case
Eric, Luv your channel. Quick ? Can the Jubilee five-piece links bracelet from the DATEJUST reference 126334 fit the SUBMARINER reference 124060? Thanks in Advance
While I love the look of the Oyster bracelet and have owned several pieces with it I hate the wide open links, I cannot just wear the pieces with complete disregard because I worry of big scratches, and if I can't completely enjoy the piece without worrying about it that kills it for me. I'm not gonna trade my latest piece (16570 Polar) just because of the Oyster, but I have contemplated finding a Jubilee bracelet or a rubber strap for it, the smaller links of the Jubilee hide the scratches much better and the rubber (I hate nylon straps) is obviously scratch proof. Good Hack Eric!! I can absolutely say you could wear that Sub the way it was intended to be worn without babyin it, and it's probably much comfortable too, because the Oyster, while it looks great, is not the most pliable and comfortable bracelet, it's rather stiff on it's sideways motion. I may even follow this hack and find me an oysterflex for my Polar!!
I would be happy if they just announce the option to buy oyster flex strap at the AD or comes additional with watch. 100% game changer 👍 makes sense as it’s purpose is to go into water?!
I sold my Submariner because of this very thing. I like the Sub No Date, but I hate Rolex's lack of flexibility. However, I am on the waiting list for a Yacht-Master and I definitely want to try it with a rubber strap. I don't fully understand that, you can't officially buy an original Rolex Oyster-Flex, or can you?

I bought a Zealande strap for my Tudor BB gmt opaline dial. The strap is blue and I bought a deployment clasp. It’s the bomb. I wonder is they do it for Rolex submariner. If not you could start your next company. I would buy it for my Starbucks. Lol
As of yet, Rolex only makes precious metal buckles for the Oysterflex, but I agree it's past due. While they are at it, we need an Explorer II with an Oysterflex.
I have a brand new no date sub on my safe.. I haven't weat it yet. I'll like to get the oyster flex for that watch... Usually I wear the James Cameron all the time!!!
Eric, 💯 Rolex should have by now. I did the same w my Tudor GMT Opaline w a white rubber strap. But there are gaps - doesn’t bother me but if you showed that to Rolex purists they’d turn up their nose. Prefer how my Everest fits the Sub 40, with the contour around the case. It also uses the original clasp. The Oysterflex needs the 'end links', which unfortunately are part of the case.
I bought a two for my 3 subs, a black and Blue Sub. OK but bored of it for a while. ps. they use the slide clasp so you buy the right size, and it's adjustable. Just don't by a Rolex oyster flex, pointless trouble.
Rolex probably needs to refine the titanium case of the yachtmaster before moving the oyster flex to the sub… it would make it much more difficult to differentiate the yacht master if the rubber was also on the sub. Also my bet is that Rolex is working on a better version of the rubber strap if it’s going to replace the legendary oyster bracelet
600€ for the strap and a broken clasp from ebay which we did send for replacement to rolex...since no one wantesd to sell the glidelock clasp I had to go this route.
The SS barclect is an integral part of the watch design and heritage, I will always opt for the bracelet, especially when Rolex barclects are on league of their own. However, I would like to have a second option that I can change the look and feel of my watch. In a perfect world, It would be great if Rolex included a bracelet and a rubber strap in the box even if they charged $500 more.
Respectfully, the strap would look so much better if it filled the gap and countoured the case of the watch.
Grab an Everest or RubberB strap - they contour to the watch nicely

Everest rubber strap while using the glide lock clasp. Easier to size than the OF, no gap between lugs, and just as comfortable.
