At first I thought I had the wrong video, with that Marshall intro where the levels were all distorted and it sounded awful. Mercifully it ended and the video about Molly began. She's an amazing talent!
Jack Tuttle is an excellent teacher ! ! ! You have skill and talent on many levels and several instruments from the videos I've watched. It is apparent that you very much enjoy the thousands of venues and songs in your short years. Don't stop giving your love of the instruments and singing. You and the family and friends do excellent!
I, too, am hooked on Angeline the Baker. From the first time I heard it, I’ve been madly in love with it. Thanks for this, you me, very special piece of music. This was beautifully preformed, presenting the great talent you have and the simple beauty of Angeline the Baker. Thank you, for preforming this - my favourite song.
Mollie is a virtuoso guitarist, and she seems to have kept a genuine love for performing and teaching guitar. Very few performers accomplish this level of fame with their personality in tact. She's one in a thousand.
2 years late....absolutely one of the most fun, sweet and all around pretty melodies ever written. I play a simple version everytime i pull my guitar out!
I could watch Mollie play all day. Dad taught her well. Give her a cigar box axe and she'll make it sound a bluegrass orchestra. Timing, timing timing. She's got it.
Molly made me change my picking from open-hand, holding the pick with finger tips to close-handed, using the index finger's side, similar to hers; That was 2 years ago, and it was a long, hard, but totally worthy period of dedication; Her dad must be the proudest man, because her picking is Robert Fripp level! Greetings from Brazil
I am a music lover of all kinds. Molly is a sweet surprise never expected to love bluegrass I always love to hear her do old songs and put her spin to it there almost always better than the original artist, such a talent! Molly come play in northern Wisconsin some time soon!
I met Molly a couple of times in the Twin Cities. Most recently was after her show at the Dakota in Minneapolis. The most memorable was before and after she and her dad played on Garrison Keillor’s, A Prarie Home Companion when she was a fairly shy teenager. Her dad was great to talk to but she was pretty quite. But put a guitar in her hand and her personality blossomed in front of my eyes. She’s come a long way in the last decade. I love her playing of course, but she’s also been a fine writer since she was a teenager.
Just when I realized what a remarkable talent she truly is, I was, fortunately holding on to the arm of my chair when it was clear, I had somehow fallen into those eyes
Your are very Pretty Molly! Thanks for sharing this guitar playing technique. I love the way it's melodic like a banjo/mandolin/fiddle and very mountain music sounding.
That is very good and slightly different from what I have heard before. Does anyone know where I could find tab of this as close to how she is playing it? thanks
j'aime bien cette technique avec quelques cordes à vide. je cherche ce morceau pour le dobro. Je dois l'avoir dans un livre. Here a little to lurn some french words. :-)
I am a bit confused. This song is usually played in Bluegrass jams in the key of A... so does she play it in A and adding the dropped D bass string into the song or is she transposing into D. Playing it in D will throw off a lot of jammers
The tune is just in D (with an occasional bar of G), so I think she’s just talking about the B-part of the song, not a B chord, since the tune is in an AABB format.
Angeline the Baker, her age is 43 I feed her candy by the bag but she still won’t marry me She says she can’t do hard work, because she is not stout She bakes her biscuits every day and pours the coffee out Angeline the Baker, Angeline I know I should have married Angeline just 20 years ago
That's completely ridiculous. She's a monster at traditional bluegrass flatpicking. She has developed a unique style of clawhammer guitar playing, which almost nobody else does. She's good at fingerstyle. She's a fine singer-songwriter. She played punk rock in her high-school band (check out her acoustic cover of Rancid's "Olympia Washington"). She went to Berklee, so I suspect she could even bust a few jazz moves if she wanted to. Just how many more "tricks" do you want?

People like her give me hope in these troubled times.
She gives me hope too. I just hope that she's not having to work to hard.

Molly, you are fantastic. I'm old enough to be your grandfather, so I'll just say I'd be proud to have you as a granddaughter!
To the good folks at Premiere Guitar - thanks for reposting this without the logo over her left hand!!
Such incredible musicianship. So enjoyable listening to your playing.
I could listen to her all day.
Molly rules!

Adore Ms. Molly....watch her videos all the time especially the lesson videos where she breaks down her brilliance...(like that is possible!)

She's brilliant and that guitar sounds amazing

Oz Noy's playing made me use a ton more of close handed picking

I've really never tried to play anything outside of the standard E tuning, but this makes so much sense and just seems so simple
Absolutely! Drop D tuning really frees you up on this song, definitely one of my favorite fiddle tunes to play to!

Straight from the author. I love to hear this and to watch it.

Thanks Molly and Premier Guitar!!
You are sooooo good, Molly!!! I've watched several of your videos and I'm very impressed.
You guys have been posting some great videos with some awesome artist . Molly is a badass.
Hey I love it! I'm learning this song tonight so I can play it for my mom because she likes it too.
Thank you for sharing, that song has made my day. Stay safe.
Sounds so nice,,Thanks for sharing...
2 melodies I am currently hooked on are Panhandle Country and Back Up and Push.
Molly is such a beautiful young lady, her styles are very impressive-and she is such a 'clean player', i.e. no slide sounds.
Damn she is always just so good
This is complete 🔥!!!!!
Great talent Molly Tuttle👌
Love this. Awesome.
Played greatly by Molly Tuttle
Beautiful!
Your are very Pretty Molly! Thanks for sharing this guitar playing technique. I love the way it's melodic like a banjo/mandolin/fiddle and very mountain music sounding.
Yes!
like the metal drop d intro that fades into her drop d.. Molly is cool..
Very nice. Thank you for the ideas.
Cool video. I'll definitely mess around with this, it seems really fun. Thanks for sharing!
Love your playing
Way too cool. Definitely gives me something to fool with. Thank you!
Good Golly Miss Molly.
Whoever gave molly a “thumbs down” is a derelict ...
We live in a world where up is down and down is up. The ones that are giving a down thumb are just as backwards as their thumbs down antics.
Only if you are looking for a recipe for shit cake, you are wrong here and give a thumbs down. ;-)
Love it !
Such an amazing picker! Look at her little finger, wish my pinkie was like that. As long as 3rd finger!
An mucician, smart, and cute = perfect👌
amazing technique
Just imagine back in the day when you were told her dad was too busy but Molly could give you some guitar lessons hallelujah I would say
Gah. Watching her right hand is insane--it's like clockwork.
Learning
Molly is cute, and great musician!

Goddess
This is a song that Eric Schoenberg tried to teach me. Eric plays melody and bass runs independently.
Here's a short version of Eric's

Sweet Molly, I love her music!
Is it a Martin D18??
She is fuckin' rad.
Molly is one classy and very beautiful young lady. Thank you Molly for sharing your talent with us! Is that a Martin D-18 she’s playing?
Roger D it’s a Pre-War Guitar Co based on the D-18
kiaora12 Thanks!
Any chance an ol tab will be added?
theres no way I can track down some guitar tabs or sheet music for this specific version is there?
lol im making some and putting on ultimate guitar

How does the open D work with the B chord as she said ?
The tune is just in D (with an occasional bar of G), so I think she’s just talking about the B-part of the song, not a B chord, since the tune is in an AABB format.
what guitar model is that?
It’s a Pre-War, not sure which one but their version of a d-18.
Any chance you could please tell us what that guitar is? :- )
That's her Pre-War Guitars Co. mahogany dread (D-18 style).
Hair grew back really fast.
She has alopecia the hair is a wig.
@@mbsnyderc I didn't know that. Thanks for the correction. God bless her.
She plays exactly like David Grier--or maybe Grier plays exactly like her behind the bridge
Sounds like a banjo
Angeline the Baker, her age is 43
I feed her candy by the bag but she still won’t marry me
She says she can’t do hard work, because she is not stout
She bakes her biscuits every day and pours the coffee out
Angeline the Baker, Angeline I know
I should have married Angeline just 20 years ago
"My dad once told me: Never ever standard tuning your guitar!":-7
All that light in just in one person. I pity the person who came after her in the line.
Sounds very Jimmy Page like.
thom yorke - female version.
Molly, I love you. you are a natural Beautiful Lady. Like the girl next door. if you get that. And Talented , Wow, Just saying .
Intro is too loud for this grandpa get a quiet one for more acoustic videos
Just being real...Molly is a one trick pony. She is good at her one trick buy it's still a one trick!
She plays bluegrass man, are you disappointed she isn’t slapping and tapping on an 8 string or something?
That's completely ridiculous. She's a monster at traditional bluegrass flatpicking. She has developed a unique style of clawhammer guitar playing, which almost nobody else does. She's good at fingerstyle. She's a fine singer-songwriter. She played punk rock in her high-school band (check out her acoustic cover of Rancid's "Olympia Washington"). Just another jealous guitar player.
Tonedeafman335 don't be jealous.
Yeah, that one trick is that she is probably the best acoustic guitar player alive today.
I wonder when the radical left is going to cancel our fiddle tunes?
Dumb comment.
@@mbsnyderc you sure? They’re from a time where slavery existed. And angeline the Baker is about a slave. How is my comment dumb?
@@mathewgladden8914 There from farther back than that.
@@mbsnyderc this specific song. Angeline the baker. Is about a slave. You don’t see how that could be involved in cancel culture?
Beautiful!
