@@DiggerEvans Thanks very much for replying to my comment. It's nice to see other people's work to get idea to improve my layout. Take Care & Stay Safe.
Looks like a decent kit build Digger. The detail in that plastic kit is good. Work your magic my friend and make that scrap yard come to life. Take care. Sean.
Hi David I'm hoping it keeps me busy, and it's destined for the scrapyard as it's a none runner and I've nowhere else for it but don't worry it will have a good home.
G'day Digger, no need to apologize for the lack of videos, it's been a while since I've put up a video,(finding the time can be difficult), I'm supposed to be demolishing my layout, but I can't seem to motivate myself,(being on night-shift doesn't help), but I'll get there eventually, anyway, hope your parents are OK, stay safe, all the best from Scotland, Stephen.
many thanks Stephen i do appreciate your kind words, it is easy to lose motivation and I agree working night shift is a very tiring job, once the weather improves I will make the journey to my layout shed and get some running sessions underway
oh lord have mercy Digger, I thought maybe you had a new expensive locomotive that had to be thrown away, 😬 so glad this was intended to go to the scrapyard from the start 🤣 should be a great project. Cheers Rob
Digger you got me too thinking you got a bad Loco. I'm looking forward to seeing what you're planning on. I also wanted to commend you taking care of your parents, I too took care of my Mom till her death. Plus don't need to apologize for the bird, just saying hi to the world. Keep having fun my friend, Chris
Thanks John a lot of people over the pond are saying the same thing about the loco kits, the only one i know for sure that exists as a kit for an American Loco is the kit for Big Boy
1:04 This is exactly the type of kit that makes a scrap yard pop. Least in the UK. Would be great if this same company would produce locomotives from other countries. They'd sell like hotcakes. Thanks for sharing Digger. Really neat kit. God bless you Digger. Prays sent to you & family. ((The best is yet to come. NESARA/GESARA. Gold back currency. Slaves no more. Global end to poverty. No more homelessness. Release of 6,000 surpressed from humanity high tech patents. )) KEK
This should keep you busy for a few days. I didn't know they made model kits like this of loco's. I wonder if they make them for US loco styles. Look forward to the videos you do of this.
I'm not too sure if there are American locos in this form of kit except for UP big boy there's lots of those kits around, I am hoping that this kit will help to keep me occupied, many thanks for your comment Jerry
Yet another very interesting and informative video Digger I wish you the best on the Deltic build and I look forward to seeing what it turns out like after it been weathered I look forward to maybe catching up with you on a livestream if you possibly do one until then my friend take care and stay safe
Digger Digger tweat tweat, actually you will be suprised if you, sorry when you complete this DP1, seen one and quite convincing thats in blue but what your going to do with it sounds very interesting, and it has to be a first! Know you will work your magic on it and cannot wait to see it competed. And your wrong this was not boring at all! Never is! Take care, most interesting and good luck with it, cheers Nick.
Hiya Charlie, I wouldn't ordinarily get a loco kit but i was really struggling for something to build, I think it's going to look decent once i'm done I've got about 18 hours into it now and I will be posting an update very soon
Hi Digger, the moulds date back to the 1950's so more like 70 years old. It is a model of the one-off Deltic prototype with external differences to the production model such as the head light. Will you be carving those bits off or just hiding them in the scrap? You have the Lima one to compare for the differences. I'll be watching closely as I have a couple of old Airfix steam loco kits that I would like to put into a rusty scrap yard condition. David.
Right thanks for that information David my friend, I'm a little wiser now I'm not sure if i will remove the head light or not, maybe if it stays as the prototype it will be a point of interest in the scrapyard as preservation societies will be wanting to buy it?
Hiya Alan, there's a leaflet inside giving a brief history and when Dapol bought the moulds from Airfix they didn't know they had a Deltic amongst them and only discovered it by chance
Wow enjoyed you latest update .Cheers David.
Thank you

Thank you Sean
That’s real cool you can find and actually model that you can scrap instead of having to use a real Train engine. Looking forward to the finish.
Thanks Steve it is going to be an enjoyable build

Well its something to keep you busy ..but to the scrapyard !!
Hi David I'm hoping it keeps me busy, and it's destined for the scrapyard as it's a none runner and I've nowhere else for it but don't worry it will have a good home.
Nice model. I've seen people put that kit on the Lima chassis. After lots of searching, I recently found a blue Bachmann DP1
Thank you Yes I have wondered whether just do a full swap onto the chassis of the Lima
I look forward to when it's completed. :)
Thanks Reuben I am looking forward to getting stuck in to this kit
Very interesting Digger, would love to see how you do it at every stage…Simon
Thank you Simon I shall certainly produce some updates on the progress

I thought so too
Cool video Digger, I also enjoy the building part of our hobby. Stay safe my friend 😊👍
Thanks, you too!
LoL- I wondered "how bad was it..." Makes sense to do a cheap plastic model for it. You'll do your magic and make it look just right!
Thanks Anthony, It's a very cheap kit to buy and as you say it makes sense to use it as a scrapper
Thanks for sharing ♐
