    Brilliant like everyone else I could not get my Quad tyre to seal, tried started fluid all it did was burn, then found this site, and a kick, to exciter the air, worked PERFECTLY thank youy

    My journey started with new tires and like new wheels and an appointment to Discount Tire at 4PM (bad idea). I received a destroyed new tire and severely damaged wheel. My journey ends with another new tire I installed myself this time and filled by following your video. Thanks!

    Thank you! I was trying to do a small gocart tire and couldn't get it to seat for the life of me, and the starting fluid wasn't going off, was just burning. I tried kicking it but that didn't work either, then I copied you exactly: You had the air going too. That plus the starting fluid and boom! YAAAA!

    This just worked for me when no other method would. Front tire of an 86 Honda 250r 3 wheeler would not even get close to seating. Gaps large you could see right through. This (plus the ratchet strap around the center of the tire) worked beautifully. Took a few attempts, but worked. Thank you!

    Remember to keep your fingers clear of the rim bead area as the pressure the exploding gas exerts to the bead will squish your fingers. I like the explosion sound and the "ping" sound (bead slapping against the rim), almost like a ricochet.

    I use a straw extension on the ether can to spray less than a second INSIDE the tire cavity, then use a butane torch with a long nozzle extension to ignite. Valve core removed and open, no attachment. No flame excess.

    I've done this many times myself but I had to try several different brands of starting fluid before I got one that worked good. Now that the can's been sitting around a year or so, it doesn't seem as potent. Ended up using my cheetah tank instead a few times, but that's not always foolproof either. Never knew about the trick to hit it or kick it, or even thought to try that. Now I'm going nuts wanting to know the science behind how this helps it go... lol

    • @Tomsfoolery.
      @Tomsfoolery.  3 года назад +3

      I think it’s the sudden charge/movement of oxygen that helps the combustion. Many times when I don’t kick em, the starting fluid burns too slow to inflate the tire onto the bead. Try it out, it works!

      It's due to the rapid expansion of the air from the heat. That's why you have to have the hose going it will contract as it cools and can pull the tire right back off

    • @leesluga9994
      @leesluga9994 2 года назад

    i have done that thousands of times even on lawn tractor tires, but note: if using the true quick start, dont use as much as copy cat off brands that dont even start an engine, as it is very poor stuff, you never have to kick a tire when using true name brand quick start,, Canada tire starting fluid is the wost crap going.. if you dont have qick start use a 50/50 mix of oxy/acct.

    I've had to do light her up twice because the tire didn't seat well and it leaked. So yeah I had to break the bead again clean the bead and the rim and light her up again. Its scary initially but when you do it a few times you can become quite comfortable with the whole pop and operation. .

    On the ninth kick the tire exploded as loud as a gunshot and jumped 3 feet in the air. The tire came off of the rim on one completely destroying the tire and the air conpresser hose in the process.

      @@ddbutikofer825 apparently the trick is to kick them just after you ignite the starting fluid. i think this caused some of the flame to lick out and find the air, forcing the air to rush inwards as the explosion starts to form.

    • @izzzzzz6
      @izzzzzz6 3 года назад

      @@ddbutikofer825 you could try to make , borrow one of those high flow inflation tanks . you need a reservoir and a large ball valve. you need some squished pipe of large diameter to suit the large ball valve, usually you weld a small tab just back from the squished tube, this is to hold against the rim. once the air tank is full (via a schroder valve) you position the flat partially squished tube so it fires into the gap between the tyre and rim and crank open the ball valve when ready, all of the air suddenly rushes out into the wheel and pops the tyre on. Something to have if yu do tricky tyres. most tyre/tire garages have them. Also, make sure the tyres are warm if it's cold out, bring them in over night.
