He seems very manipulative and emotionally abusive. He was cheating on Teresa long before she went to prison, yet had the nerve to accuse her of infidelity on WWH. The damn fool was still mic’d when he took a call from his mistress while in the vineyard. I feel sad for their children.
He is incarcerated. Even his young daughter understands, he's frustrated. ICE detention centers are inhumane.

Gia’s still very young and one day she’ll learn that living a constant life of keeping your mouth shut to not rock the boat is no kind of life you want. I know it’s not great to see parents fight it’s also not okay to watch your mom take constant abuse and never stand up for herself. I can promise if she takes that mindset into her first romantic relationship she’s going to be so mad at herself for essentially betraying herself and not standing up for herself in an effort to keep the boat from rocking, but it’s hard as women we are naturally inclined to do that, that‘s why it’s so important that our parents teach us that some things are more important than just keeping the peace. I‘m just speaking from personal experience here.

This season has been such a snoozefest without her.
That’s what happens when you allow your children into adult situations and make them believe they’re old enough to have a say in what goes on between adults. Her daughter is way out of line and her and her husband made her that way.
But they are her parents. So it has a lot to do with her, whether they are adults or not, it clearly affects her.
He crossed a line. It was Gia’s moment. He ruined it by being negative. It wasn’t the time or the place. She has the right to react.

Also all the money that they had to pay back to the creditors, Teresa has worked and paid it back while Joe has been in jail. She hasn't spent his money in years. Plus while she was shopping he was spending money on other women. Teresa hides the bad stuff from her girls as much as she can. So no Gia doesn't know the half of it.

Geez folks are too consumed with parents earn the right to be respected at all times, when clearly these parents lost that right when they BOTH went to jail. Kissing friend, BOTH committed the crime and KNEW what they were doing was wrong. BOTH paid a consequence. The victims were the children. Teresa is not doing something good for her kids while bad mouthing the other parent and having fights continuously with her present. Sometimes the best path is to take the high road and not get baited into arguments, which never crosses the Adult Teresa's mind.

I do have a soft spot for Gia... Howeveeerrr, she kinda took it a bit to far throwing the phone at her mum. When really she’s upset with and scared for her dad.
She made some valid points but her emotions got the better of her. She’s still young and has had to see, hear and learn a lot . A whilst acting like everything is going to be ok and be a big sister to the youngers. I can see how she would be frustrated, but how she handled her mum just then... Gia could come better than that.
I honestly can't blame her because for most of her life her parents were constantly fighting. Gia has had enough. This was her day but Joe and Teresa couldn't put aside their differences. I know what it's like to spend many years watching parents go at it. It's very traumatic. It's sad when your child has more logic than the parents.
@shortystuff34 I completely agree with you but with that said, one of them needs to be the bigger person. Once Joe pushed Teresa she pushed right back. While Joe might have started it, Teresa should have tried to let it go.
She could have, but she's the child in this scenario, not the adult. Her PARENTS poor choices, from irresponsible and illegal financial decisions to exposing deeply private parts of their personal history has no place in a child's life. You simply do not needlessly involve your kids in adult issues that are beyond their control.
Sure, Gia could have done better. But the people who SHOULD be doing better are her parents. And they seemingly cannot rise up and do better for their kids, which is the real crime here.
Having to grow up so quickly and be under such scrutiny is not healthy for any kid. All four girls should be in counseling.

Not that her mother should just accept Joe acting like an a** to her, but that Teresa could've been the bigger person in that moment, for the sake of her daughter, & let Joe's comments go without having to make a rebuttal. Gia doesn't strike me as the type of girl to think woman should take any man's bs. But she knew her dad was venting out of frustration given his situation, & the last thing he needed was a snarky (in his eyes) comeback; essentially for him, kicking him when he's down. It wasn't that big of a deal, Teresa could've let it go. & when she didn't, it only blows up into a bigger ordeal, when it didn't have to. In general, I'm not siding with Joe or saying Teresa really did anything wrong here, just saying what I think Gia would've liked to have happened.

He’s repaid that support by blaming her for the things he’s done. He even had the nerve to blame her for not “forcing” him to go through the process to gain citizenship years ago, as if she could force him to do anything. I don’t blame her for finally standing up for herself. However, they’re both in the wrong for arguing like that in front of their kids. She could have just walked outside the shop if she wanted to talk to him, or hang up. There’s no excuse for dragging the kids into it, and they’re both responsible for that.
